Surprisingly, the next pregnancy announcement didn't come until two years later. And the next announcement was Sakura, who told them after dinner and they had managed to get all three kids to bed. Of course, they were all excited and as soon as he could, he practically bragged about the announcement to Kars and Pucci. They were happy for him, of course. And Kars, once again, offered to check to see if the kids had stands. But Karaat and the girls had agreed that they would wait until they were older to check. They didn't want to traumatize them by having an immortal digging around in their brain just to bring out a stand. They could wait to find out. Kars even expanded their house with his powers, making sure there was plenty of room for the new baby as well as for the one now on the way.
Karaat also got a promotion at work and by the time of the announcement, he was being looked at for an assistant principal position at a high school that was closer to his house. Shizuku was actually about to graduate Tokyo University with a Bachelor's in web design! She would be graduating in a few months and Karaat already was planning a huge party to celebrate. Mari and Kotoha had graduated school as well and were actually at a local university. Mari was in the economics course while Kotoha was in a business course. And so far, they were doing really well. Sakura had also gotten a promotion at her café. Not only was the head maid, she was a supervisor that helped train the new hires! She would probably be taking a rest soon for her pregnancy, but she had plenty saved up. And she was guaranteed her job back once she got off of pregnancy leave. Ichiru was working at a different job, though it was still security work. She now worked at an office that paid almost double what the pizza place paid. Plus, she got benefits and very flexible hours!
In the end, Karaat was kind of glad his life was slowing down and somewhat being normal. Well as normal as it could be when someone's best friends consisted of an immortal being and a priest. Still, he was grateful for everything, even the wild adventure he had went through to get to where he was now. One day, he would tell his kids about it, though he didn't know if they would believe him.
He had already tried to tell Takamichi a little bit about it, though he wasn't sure if the little boy thought it was real or it was a bed time story. Still, he seemed to enjoy hearing it. He, of course, didn't tell him the whole thing. He definitely omitted some details out. But as long as it kept his boy entertained long enough to fall asleep, it was worth it. Miyuki, on the other hand, preferred stories about dinosaurs. And since his story didn't have a dinosaur, she mostly ignored it.
Still, he was grateful for his kids, and any future ones he ended up having. For now, the world was peaceful, which he was grateful for. He hoped it stayed that way. But, if it didn't, he would do his best to protect the women he loved, his kids and his friends. His life had been crazy, from the summer when he first met the deadlies and was possessed, to when he was warped onto that U-boat where Jorge, Narancia, and Kars were. But he didn't regret anything. He learned a lot about himself, gained a lot of power, and was able to get the women he loved to be able to stay with him. He didn't know how much time he had with them, but he would treasure every moment.
And, if the day came that he found out his kids had stands, he would do his best to show them how to use them. And how to fight properly, just in case. Until then, all he could do was live his life. Which, he definitely didn't mind doing. He didn't know if his story would ever be told again. Maybe Kars would tell someone a few centuries later about him, Jorge Narancia and Pucci.
He couldn't help but smile at that thought whenever it crossed his mind. He wasn't sure how Kars would describe him. And a part of him didn't want to know. Probably something about him being mortal but also more intriguing than most mortals. Or at least, that's what he hoped he would say. It would probably be something else, if he was being honest with himself. But it didn't matter how Kars described him or his story.
All Karaat knew was that he was content. Whatever happened now, he would face it with Murasaki, the deadlies and his friends. His adventure had been wild. Some would even say it was bizarre. But he would always look back on it fondly, even the scary parts and the sad parts. Those parts also made him who he was that day. And they were one of the many reasons he treasured what he had. This was Karaat's adventure through time, space, and multiple universes. It had started with a cursed Blu-ray disc and ended with a house full of beautiful women, kids, and some crazy friends. And maybe it would pick up again someday with a new chapter. But, until then, he would live day by day, and enjoy what he had right now.
