Prologue A Twist Of Fate

For what should have a bright summer day, you would have thought it was an Alaskan Nor'easter. The howling winds and blinding snow gave zero visibilty. All of this was mirroring the tumult thoughts of the young Queen of Arendelle Elsa. For the storm was in fact, a product of her fears regarding her powers and what she was capable of.As she wandered across the fjord her mind wandered to the night she accidentally hit her sister Anna with her powers. She in this anxious state, finally remembered something important the troll leader said.

"You must learn to control your powers. Fear will be your enemy".

Those words had proved true. But Elsa was also coming to the realisation that the trolls had heard her father's plan to cut her off from the rest of the world, and hadn't said anything. But what did it matter now? The damage was done. Everything she had tried to control her powers failed. She saw only one hope for her kingdom's survival and her sister's happiness. If she could get across fjord, back up the North Mountain, and throw herself off the top. Though she had been told Anna had not returned, she was not overly worried. She remembered the mountain man who appeared at her Ice Palace. He looked like someone who knew around a mountain. Surely Anna would be safe with him until she could be returned to her beloved prince. All the sudden, she heard a voice above the winds.

" Elsa you can't run from this!" Prince Hans yelled over the wind. As Elsa turned to look at him she had to admit he was kind.

While in her prison cell she heard the guards talking sbout how wonderfully he had taken care of people during the unexpected summer winter storm, gone looking for her sister when her sister's horse returned without her, stopped the Duke of Westelton's men from her, as well as stopped her from killing them. Who knew what other good things this prince could do, not only for the Kingdom, but more importantly, her sister? While Elsa was still not a100% sold on the idea of love at first sight, at least her sister would have someone to protect her and provide for her and help everyone recover from her winter.

Turning around to face Prince Hans she said in an almost pleading voice:

"Just...take care of my sister."

She had expected to him to say that he would always be there for Anna no matter what. That he was anxiously awaiting his beloved return. Instead she got the worst possible news. As Hans related how Anna's condition was after her return from the mountain, Elsa remembered their last conversation. Anna was always the more optimistic of the two of them. Even when she told Elsa about the winter she was sure that together they could fix it. Elsa had lost control of her emotions during the discussion. At one point not even looking at her sister...at least not until she heard a grunt. She turned around, and saw her on the floor of her Ice Palace clutching her chest, and looking as though she were in great pain. She had insisted that she was alright, but Elsa should have known better. After Anna had left she should have taken her life right away, then Anna would still be alive and could have a normal family life and been happy. It was all too much for Elsa she collasped onto the frozen fjord. The blizzard was suspended in midair because of her sadness. The dignitaries now had a clear view of what happening on the fjord. Some like the Duke of Westelon were hoping for the young queen's death. Others, like the princess of Corona, her husband, and their travelling companion were hoping for a happy ending.

Elsa heard a sword being drawn from it's sheath. But she made no effort to defend herself. She was a monster who deserved to die. But what neither she nor Hans knew that someone else on the fjord.Just as the sword about to hit it's mark, a familiar voice rang out:

"No!"

Elsa looked up just in time to see her half frozen sister get struck with Hans's sword. It was like something out of her worst nightmares. Anna's reddish orange hair was pure snow white, her hands and face were getting an icy blue look to them, not that those things mattered. Not with the terrible sword wound to Anna's chest and her precious life blood spilling out!

"Anna!" shouted Elsa who's voice sounded like a wounded animal. And Prince Hans might have tried something else, if Kristoff hadn't punched his lights out. Olaf waddled up and asked in a sad voice:

"Anna?"

Elsa meanwhile was sobbing for her sister. It couldn't end like this. Anna was suppose to experience life. Be able to enjoy the sun, have a normal family, not this!

El--sa? Are...you alright? "asked Anna who had just barely regained consciousness.

Yeah I'm fine thanks to you." said Elsa barely able to keep her composure."Don't worry. We'll get you back to the castle--"

She was interrupted by a squeeze on the hand by her sister. Elsa looked down at Anna who just said:

"It doesn't... matter. Just answer... a question. Do you wanna...?" But she cut off as she was coughing up more blood. But what she heard as her life was leaving her was shocking.

Yes I want to a snowman

I'm sorry it took so long

I didn't know that I needed you

But I really do

Please try to hold on

For I promise to keep open the d--ooor

Yes ! wanna build a snowman

How I wished to a snowman with you

Anna gave a sad smile as she whispered 'I love you Elsa' then died in her sister's arms. Elsa was so busy crying she hadn't noticed the summer weather return. At least, not until Olaf mentioned he was melting, Elsa gave him his own personal flurry. But even with the Summer weather return Anna was still gone. Little did Elsa know that it was only the beginning of her troubles. And that she would need the help of some special people to face her greatest challenge yet.

A/n I have a couple of things to say. First if all you're going to say is not another retelling of Frozen, I'd rather not read it. While I appreciate constructive criticism, stuff like that doesn't help. The reason I've written in bold print is because it's easier to read. Sorry the prologue was short, but things are just getting started. Finally this is a triple crossover it'll make more sense down the line. stay safe everyone
