My father's funeral was sad and guilt ridden Joey even said this to me, "You have to be a hero now it's what he would want." somewhere deep down I knew he was right so the next day I went to Tech and started finishing the suit and I also designed better web shooters I made a magnetic collar in the back of the neck for a hoodie affect for the suit it was awesome then I designed a police broadcast and com system that hooked up to my phone. The next day I wake up at 5:00 am look at my newly finished suit and get up put the suit on pack my backpack with my clothes my hoodie and tee shirt and sweatpants and shoes slip the cloth mask over my face and just as I'm leaving I hear a thump then footsteps then the door to my room starts to open I know who it is it's Joey he must've heard me he then says, "Finally a good looking' suit now who are you though?"
"I'm Arachnid," I say smiling back at him, "now go back to bed."
"Okay," he says, then he walks off and goes back to bed. After that I jump out the window and swing away. Later I turn the broadcaster for crimes and first a robbery in progress on 4th and Main I swing to the location screaming like I'm on a roller coaster because of the pure thrill of it once arriving at my destination the thugs made the mistake of robbing a store with a giant window in front I knock the window saying, "Hey fellas' I'm Arachnid what's your name."
"Crap what the heck? Is that a cop?" The thug says in surprise, shooting the glass trying to hit me, I dodge the bullets by flipping and jumping, then I web the gunman's gun out his hand evening the fight.
"Do I really look like a cop, man? I thought my costume was more original than that. Well at least I don't look as ugly as you two yeesh you guys do not look well," I joke, webbing the second thug up and knocking out the first one. After about an hour of beating up thugs I decided to make my way up to Tech. I found an alley which my friends were passing by and quicklychanged into my clothes and I caught up to them quickly with my enhanced speed and all and said, "You guys forgot about me."
"Well about time, where were you? We stopped by your place but you weren't there your brother said you were out being a hero," May says worried but in a cute way which somewhat makes me worry.
"I was out jogging around in the neighborhood," I say, exhausted from swinging but they don't know that well at least May doesn't.
"How are you holding up?" Danny asks knowing I wasn't jogging around but doing something heroic.
"I'm fine," I say calmly and we walk towards Tech towers. Once there we go to our cubicle labs and work on our project of course for me was electrical webbing and researching the new formula Doc wanted me to make a serum based off lizard DNA for amputees to regrow limbs it gave me great suspicions on what he was doing with said serum any ways they happened to turn on the news and I happened to be the main hit story which feels good wait a worse feeling than my spider sense goes off it of a man in Times square with May but she's not here of course time to suit up as I rush up the stairs taking my regular clothes off and putting my costume on I rush out the door pulling the mask over my face and jumping off the roof, shooting a successful web to a building and swing towards Times square as I get there the man in black is holding a gun to a group of hostages May included as I scan the crowd I see Mom and Joey in the mix raising the stakes for my first hostage situation a police car then flies toward the man but he punches the car and it goes in the air heading towards May, Mom and Joey I swing just in time calculating my every move and catch the car and say, "Sorry little lady but didn't your parents teach you not to play in the street it's super dangerous."
"You, your Arachnid aren't you well I'm Dark-Wolf and you caused my father to go to jail," the now named man says with anger and vengeance.
"Well I know I probably look like someone way cooler but I assure you I've only put 10 people in jail but I think we could talk this over coffee man," I joke back. He then charges at me and jump over him with ease then he quickly started an assault of punches and kicks but dodged and countered every single one he then picked up a car and threw it at me I dodged then webbed the car back at him kicking the car at the same time putting him the ground then I shock him with my new webbing and web him to the ground then I face the crowd and say, "Sorry folks he gets cranky you guys good?"
"Yeah yeah we are thank you," Mom says with earnestness. It pains me that she doesn't know me but it has to be this way.
"Alright see you later" I joke, swinging off back towards Tech as soon as I arrive I change my clothes and rush back to the lab just in time to meet May from her near death experience then I ask, "How was your day out?"
"Good I mean I got saved by that Arachnid guy and met with Joey and your Mom," May says with the softest voice.
"Why is that?" I was curious as to why she needed to meet with my mother.
"To ask permission for your presence for dinner at my place of course only if you want to," she says with a flirtatious tone in her voice.
"Uhhhhh suuure," I say, so nervous I lose my sense of words. After we finished our work for the day I went for an evening patrol at about 5:00 I crawled through the window to my room where little Joey was waiting for me excited about him seeing me, "You were so awesome you stopped that guy like POW! Kazooey it was awesome you stopped a car it was so cool."
"He must be telling you about our experience in Times Square it was sure crazy good thing that Arachnid guy showed up he saved our lives and the lives of the others it was amazing honey put some clothes on you're expected at the Wilsons in 30 minutes," my Mom says confused on why I'm in my tighty whities I got dressed I combined a formal casual look so it wasn't weird if I got the occasion wrong I was wearing a black plaid button up shirt and jeans I managed to get the suit under my clothes so incase her dad had to go in a rush I could go as well so win win right wrong turns out her dad hates me well not me me but arachnid me it was horrible but fair so I didn't argue but May she definitely defended the man who saved her life dinner went by fast and May and I were on the roof she then suddenly asks me, " Are you Arachnid?"
"What?" I panicked.
"Are you Arachnid?" She asks more seriously than ever.
"No of course not why would you think that?" I panicked about her finding out on my first day.
"You have the same voice and your brother said you were out being a hero also you were exhausted this morning and Danny asked how you were holding up you wouldn't ask that to a jogger then Arachnid happens to know we're at Times square and you coincidentally ask about my day it all adds up," She points out all of that is true so I come clean.
"Yes I am Arachnid and I do it because well I'm the reason my father is dead," I say she just stares at me.
"What do you mean?" she asks worriedly.
"I saw the thug that shot him in a grocery store and I let him get away because I was angry from getting duped at wrestling match I won with my powers to help my family in the financial areas then Joey told me at Dad's funeral that Dad would want me to become a hero and I knew Joey was right so I finished a costume I had been making for if I won and then I just started this morning, got this huge headache and you were at Times square and well you know the rest," I say explaining the every detail of really happened over the week.
"Wow you really did all this out of guilt and obligation because you feel you could have saved your father," May says shocked about what she had just heard. Then before I could respond our moms came and told us to come in and at the same time my spider sense went off and sirens wailed and smoke rose from afar so I rushed into my room and took off my clothes and slid my mask over my face and jumped out the window swinging towards the fire. As I make my way towards the building I hear a scream of a father in his late 30s about their little girl. I swing into the building and I hear a man of British descent his voice cuts through the fire crackle, "You are a very hard man to find Mr. Arachnid."
"What is with people thinking I'm famous enough to have a bounty on my head or have someone out for revenge? I just started today," I joke though I actually was very curious about why people were coming after me on my first day.
"You've had a bounty on your head since you first graced the morning news, you scared the rich and corrupt into action so much so that they put a bounty out for $25,000,000,000 for yourhead," the man says his suit was that of a basic cloth with a mask similar to mine minus the web affect and retractable claws.
"So what do I call you? Cat-Man or British Cat-guy," I joke back hoping he'll give me information.
"You may call me Predator!" he yells as he charges at me I flip wondering if all the people I fight are going to do this but as I ready to kick him he punches me out of the air knocking me to the ground then I try webbing him but he catches the web and throws me around like a ragdoll then I thought if I electrify the web it will shock him so I shoot a second web and pray that it works and add a current to the two webs and shock Predator knocking him out cold then I turn my attention to finding the girl so I scream, "Where are you?!"
"Here I'm right here," I hear meekly. I head towards the voice and see the little girl cowering in fear.
"Get away from me!" she screams in fear repeatedly.
"Hey I'm not going to hurt you I'm going to get you out of here and back to your parents," I say calmly all of the sudden my spider sense went off and I grabbed the little girl and jumped out the window as burst of flames engulfed the building I shot a web towards another building and I descend with the girl in my arms safely and her father rushes to me I gently hand her over as he thanks me and asks, "Who are you?"
"I'm Arachnid," I respond, with dignity knowing that I am Arachnid.
