LaCuevademisgustos: Yep, Rodney sure learned his lesson. Thanks for the comments on Jo and Sadie, I would hope they were written well.

As for Mike and Sky, we'll have to wait for that.

acosta perez jose ramiro: Thank you.

acosta perez jose ramiro(again): Yeah, xx15 figured it was best to keep the canon fear.

leo45: We'll see what happens with Cody and Beth.

LaCuevademisgustos(again): Yeah, we figured it was best to make the points more fair.

Jss2141: Thank you.

PrincessCrystalGem: Yeah, I would hope that's the case.

Guest: Thanks for the comments on Mike and Sky.

"Last time on Total Drama Island. The competitors were forced to conquer their deepest, darkest fears. Not all of them succeeded, but others surprised the group and faced their fears head-on." Chris recapped "Due to failing to get extra points for his team, Lindsay was eliminated. Will the Killer Bass win a challenge before they begin a longer losing streak, and will Brick be more comfortable sleeping in the dark, find out on Total Drama Island."

(After theme song)

Soon we see the Screaming Gophers and the Killer Bass standing near the water with Chris making an announcement "Bass, Gophers! Today's challenge is a true summer camp experience: a canoe trip!"

"You'll be paddling your canoes across the lake," Chris continued, "to Boney Island!" he said in a creepy tone.

"When you get there, you must portage your canoes to the other side of the island, which is about a two-hour hike through treacherous, dense jungle." Chris said.

"Por-What exactly?" Lightning asked densely.

"Portage, dude walk with your canoe." Chris spelled it out for Lightning.

"Shoulda said it like that earlier?" Lightning huffed.

"When you arrive at the other end of the island, you'll build a rescue fire that will be judged by me. The first team to paddle home and return their canoes to the beach is the winner of invincibility! Move, campers, move! Oh, wait! One more thing I should mention. Legend has it, if you take anything like a skull or idol off the island…" Chris began before speaking spookily "you'll be cursed."

"What?! Cursed!" Shawn asked, shocked.

"Now, get in your canoes and let's have some fun!" Chris beamed.

Beth, who was using the bathroom, had finished and came out. "What did I miss?"

Chris chose to not tell her about the challenge. "Canoes."

Confessional: Cody

"Chris told us to pick a paddle partner. It was time for me to make my move." Cody said "Lately, I've been crushing on Beth and I just want to talk to her."

Confessional Ends

Beth was walking down the stairs when Cody went in front of her. "You're a very open-minded and sweet girl. Want to canoe with someone who's just like you?"

Beth blushed. "What a gentleman. Of course."

Confessional: Beth

"I haven't been able to talk to anyone yet." Beth admitted. "But Cody asked me to work with him. And he complimented me."

Confessional Ends

Noah and Sadie shared a look and shrugged at the fact that they're going together since they had no one to ask.

Jo began whispering to Brick "Listen we need more allies."

"I know. Maybe we can search for a few in the middle of the challenge." Brick directed before they went into a canoe.

Confessional: Brick

"My biggest competition on the island is Jo," Brick said. "It's like my drill sergeant always says, Keep your enemies close, and your rivals closer! W-Wait, I did that wrong. Keep your family close and your enemy at arm's length. Uh, no, n-no, hold on.

Confessional Ends

Duncan grabbed Mike and Harold together in order to hint that they'll canoe as a group, much to their dismay.

Sky looked around and saw Shawn going down. She smiled, but instead chose Amy and Dawn. "Dawn! Amy! Be my partners?"

"I don't see a problem with that," Dawn obeyed while Amy shrugged and they both walked off with Sky.

Shawn frowned a bit.

Confessional: Amy

"Dawn's creepy, but at least she's not obnoxious." Amy explained. "Sky's pretty cool to me."

Confessional: Shawn

"I'm not gonna assume that Sky didn't pick me as her partner because of my quirks." Shawn stated. "She's probably closer to the girls."

Confessional Ends

"Hey theory boy need a partner?" Lightning patted Shawn on the back.

"Excellent!" Shawn teamed up with Lightning.

Ella tapped Heather on the shoulder. "We should team up."

Heather rolled her eyes in acceptance.

Lightning was helping Shawn push their canoe onto the water. "Have you ever gone canoeing before?"

"No. It's not on my list of interests." Shawn claimed.

Ella was pulling Heather's hand and helped her sit on the canoe.

Cody tried to pull his and Beth's canoe, but to no avail.

"Do you want my help?" Beth curiously offered.

"Nah nah," Cody declined, but fell into the water after trying to pull a second time.

Lightning and Shawn were now in the water paddling. Though they saw Ella and Heather pass them.

"Row row row your boat, gently down the stream!" Ella sang, to which Heather readied her paddle. "Merrily merrily merrily merrily, life is but a dream!"

Heather whacked her in the head, making Ella yelp and Shawn and Lightning wince.

Everyone's canoe is now in the water and Chris is holding up a pistol.

"On your marks, get set, paddle!"

Chris then fires the pistol in the air while everyone begins paddling.

A bird fell down from the shot. "That's gonna provoke some angry emails," Chris commented.

We soon see Jo and Shawn paddling in their canoe.

"Hey Brick, I've been thinking we should get Heather out as soon as possible." Jo suggested.

"Really? How come?" Brick asked.

"A few challenges ago, I heard that she was the one who got Eva eliminated." Jo said "Anyone that can do that is definitely worth taking out."

"That and her behavior is deplorable." Brick added on.

Meanwhile Amy was paddling in front of Sky and Dawn. As she did so, Sky leaned forward towards Dawn in order to whisper to her.

"So you're an aura reader right?" Sky asked.

"Of course Sky, and yours is looking really good." Dawn said.

"Thanks. So is there any chance that you know about Mike's problem." Sky whispered quietly so that Amy wouldn't hear.

"Yes. I've been given the gift to read people's minds," Dawn pointed out. "You're asking because Mike already told you."

"Yep. That's why I'm riding a canoe with you." Sky fully reasoned. "I don't want to pester him."

"That's thoughtful of you." Dawn smiled.

Soon we see Shawn and Lightning paddling together on their canoe.

"And that's why I'm afraid of the supernatural." Shawn told Lightning. "That and I watch too many movies."

"I think you need to sha-cut down on it." Lightning said shocked.

"To be fair, I am homeschooled." Shawn pointed out. "So why do you put the word "sha" into everything?"

"You know the DC Comics?" Lightning pressed on.

"Yeah." Shawn said happily. "My favorite characters are Green Arrow and Cheetah. Though Miss Martian and Solomon Grundy scare me."

"My favorite superhero is the guy who can change his age from a child to an adult." Lightning told him.

"Shazam?" Shawn wondered.

"That's the one!" Lightning beamed. "I dig on his lightning powers and catchphrase."

"So you're almost like him, but different?" Shawn continued.

"Yeah. I say "Shabam!" a lot because that's when I feel victorious. And my real name's Rudolph, but I want to be named Lightning." Lightning got in full detail.

Confessional: Shawn

"Lightning can be kind of annoying, but he's okay if you're not on his bad side," Shawn confessed.

Confessional Ends

We come back to Dawn's paddle group.

"So you know how Mike's personalities come out?" Sky asked the moonchild.

"Absolutely." Dawn nodded before flashbacks were shown of the four personalities. "Chester comes out when he's angry, Svetlana comes out when he's feeling athletic, Vito comes out when his shirt is taken off, and Manitoba Smith comes out when he's wearing a hat."

The flashbacks end. "Is that good enough?"

"Yes. I don't want to take advantage of Mike." Sky said.

We then see Cody talking to Beth as they're paddling their canoe.

"So, do you wanna go out sometime?" Cody smiled.

"Really?" Beth turned her head.

"After the show. I'm good Saturday night." Cody smiled.

"I'm flattered, but no thank you." Beth declined. "We've just started talking to each other."

"Okay then." Cody frowned and looked at the floor.

"But thanks for that," Beth smiled at Cody. "No guy has ever been interested in me. You're really sweet."

Cody grinned in satisfaction.

Confessional: Cody

"Okay. Maybe she wasn't quite ready for the Code-meister." Cody made his usual cool pose.

Confessional Ends

"I'm just saying that you're asking too much." Beth gave Cody advice.

"Right." Cody listened.

After a while everyone was in their canoes and it suddenly became foggy.

"Uh, was that fog there before?" Beth asked Cody curiously.

"Uh no it wasn't." Cody said in fear.

"I'm just curious right now." Beth said.

"You'll be paddling your canoes across the lake to Boney Island!" Chris spookily voiced over.

Soon everyone was on Boney Island and began picking up their canoes.

"Okay. Did you see that skull? It's like this place is haunted or something," Shawn theorized.

"Let's just get a move on." Lightning assured.

After a while The Killer Bass were ahead of the Screaming Gophers when suddenly they heard a twig break.

"I think I sha-saw something." Lightning whispers.

Monster beavers then start to appear from the shadows.

"Monster Beavers!" Lightning said in fear.

The Killer Bass began running away.

Confessional: Chris

"A remnant of the Pleistocene Era, the woolly beaver is a day-active rodent indigenous to Boney Island. Oh yeah, and they're meat eaters." Chris informed everyone.

Confessional Ends

The Bass then runs away from the beavers and into the puddles of water where there seems to be a dead end.

"It's a dead end!" Dawn said in fear.

The monster beavers then leave, relieving the Bass.

"Phew I thought we were goners." Shawn sighed in relief.

Suddenly gigantic birds show up and begin chasing the Killer Bass.

"Does anyone have a plan?" Dawn begged.

"Oh wait." Lightning said pulling a canister out of his shorts.

"Where'd that come from?" Shawn asked.

"It's my DPA, Daily Protein Allotment." Lightning explained with a smile. "I'll throw it to get these birds out of our sight. Sha-throw!"

Lightning throws the canister which distracts them.

"It worked." Dawn said in relief.

"C'mon, people. The race isn't over yet! We still have to burn stuff!" Lightning led the team.

We then see the Screaming Gophers running when they suddenly stop at a fork in the road.

"Which way do we go?" Ella asked.

"Left, definitely left." Brick said confidently.

"We should go right." Beth began speaking, "The right trail is wider."

"Let's listen to her," Brick said as they went right.

The Killer Bass were next.

"I can see the other team!" Sky noted.

"They're taking the path on the right." Amy said.

"Then let's go left!" Sky ordered the Bass.

The Bass were walking left before Shawn began sinking.

"Um guys I'm sinking here." Shawn said fearfully.

Confessional: Shawn

"How was I supposed to know what quicksand looks like? They could've at least left a sign," Shawn complained.

Confessional: Chris

Chris was laughing his butt off. "Can you believe they fell for that?! Haha, I set it up, but I didn't think anyone would walk into it! Haha, that's just great! Haha!

Confessionals Ends

"Somebody get me out of this!" Shawn yelped.

Lightning then got worried and began to pull Shawn's arm and he was able to pull him out of the quicksand.

Shawn then began fist bumping Lightning. "You're a real lightsaber!"

"Ain't nobody's gonna be left behind." Lightning confidently prided.

"This is touching and all but we have a challenge to win." Amy told everyone.

"Just when things were looking up for the Gophers…" Chris narrated as Brick was walking before he bent down in pain. "...disaster struck!"

"Ahh! My leg! Man down! Man down!" Brick held up his leg while his teammates looked over him.

"Oh no! Brick!" Beth saw this with sorrow.

"What do we do now?" Jo apathly said.

"Carry me." Brick grunted. "The team doesn't leave a man behind."

Confessional: Brick

"I won't give up. Brick MacArthur never surrenders!" Brick saluted.

Confessional: Beth

"I've seen many people break their arms or legs, but this? This was horrifying." Beth freaked out.

Confessionals Ends

A splinter was closely viewed on Brick's leg. It then zoomed out to show Brick lying on a canoe with Heather and Noah carrying him.

Soon the teams started to make a fire.

The Screaming Gophers were smashing rocks together and rubbing their sticks.

After a while Beth sees that the Killer Bass' fire was lit up already.

"What? How did they light it up so fast?!" Beth asked incredulously.

Duncan showed his lighter with a smirk.

"No rule against carrying lighters. Edge, Killer Bass." Chris said from his helicopter.

Soon we cut to Beth getting more branches when she saw an idol.

(Flashback)

"If you take anything off the island you'll be cursed."

"What'd I miss?"

"Canoes."

(Flashback Ends)

Beth picked up the idol and went back to her team.

Brick was dragging himself towards the fire because of his condition and threw sticks into the fire.

"Ella! You've got first aid training, right?" Cody asked the princess. "Maybe you could check out Brick's wounds."

"I've only been able to do it on animals that are injured." Ella said back.

"You could give it a try." Beth gave Ella the opportunity.

"Okay then." Ella finally caved in.

She picked up Brick's leg and looked deep into it. "He's got a splinter lodged in."

"Let me see!" Jo pushed Ella out of her way.

She pulled the splinter out, and the camera showed the exterior of Boney Island while Brick cried out "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The camera cut back to the Gophers, who were glaring at Jo. "Uh, sorry? What else was I supposed to do? Put a Band-Aid on him?

"I don't think this is going to be big enough." Lightning said as he looked down on his team's fire.

"Don't worry. I've got a fire-starter that I made a couple days back." Shawn searched his pockets, only to discover that it's not there. "I thought I put it in here!"

"Well we need more wood, guys! Come on, let's go!" Sky directed.

Lightning began to panic at this and grabbed the oars and threw them in the fire to make it bigger.

"How are we supposed to get back to camp now?!" Amy asked angrily.

Lightning smiled sheepishly at this "I sort of panicked."

Meanwhile, Jo had an idea on how to make their fire bigger.

"Check this out!" Jo took out Shawn's fire-starter. "I "found" this fire-starter in the woods. Maybe this will do the trick."

Jo dropped it into the fire, and a gigantic explosion can be seen around the island.

"Whee-hee-hee! We have our fire-building winner! Point for the Gophers!" Chris said happily.

"Hey, that's my fire-starter kit she stole!" Shawn roared indignantly.

"You stole it from Shawn?" Beth gaped at the jockette's decision.

"I was able to snag it from him while he was sleeping." Jo recalled.

"Come on team we gotta go." Cody ushered making the Screaming Gophers get into their canoes and begin paddling.

"What are we gonna do without paddles?" Sky asked her team.

"We need someone big enough to push all the canoes back." Lightning strategized. "But who?"

"Well it can be white and nerdy." Amy wiggled Harold's arm. "Those skinny arms aren't going to cut it."

"I'm not a good swimmer," Shawn shrugged.

"I'm strong, but I used my energy to rescue Shawn from the quicksand." Lightning said.

The Bass soon saw Dawn run to the ocean.

"Dawn, what are you doing?" Sky called out to her.

"I know someone who could help us!" Dawn realized and blew a whistle, and a few seconds later, two crocodiles appeared. "Hello, reptilians. We could use your assistance in pushing our canoe to the island."

The crocodiles obeyed her, and put themselves under the canoe as a speed boost.

"How did creepy girl do that?" a stumped Lightning exclaimed.

"Yeah! Crocs are super crazy and probably controlled!" Shawn said.

Confessional: Dawn

"I gave one of the Mess Hall's leftovers to them when I saw that they were hungry," Dawn confessed how she gained the crocs' aid. "I would never leave a mammal in distress."

Confessional Ends

"You're doing great! Keep it up!" Dawn motivated the crocodiles moving their canoes, leading the Bass to do the same.

Ella saw their progress. "We have to paddle faster!" The Screaming Gophers listened to her.

The crocodiles were doing well, until they unknowingly went through a rocked ramp, resulting in them zooming past the island and the Bass to land in the water.

The Gophers were swimming really fast until they made it to shore with the canoes.

"And the Screaming Gophers win the challenge!" Chris announced.

The Screaming Gophers cheered at this while the Killer Bass groan.

"Aw man. Lightning is on a team of losers right now instead of winners!" Lightning complained.

Soon we see Brick, Cody, and Beth at the bonfire.

"Good job today." Brick congratulated the girls. "I may have been wounded, but we stuck it out."

"Our winning streak is still going strong," Cody grinned.

"I'm gonna go jog now that my leg is all better," Brick started his exercise, leaving Beth and Cody alone.

"Who do you think the Bass will vote out?" Beth pondered.

"Probably Lightning. He did burn his team's oars." Cody explained.

"And his arrogance can be bothersome." Beth agreed. "But anyways, I'm not into you like that."

"I got it. We're still friends?" Cody hopefully begged.

"Definitely," Beth shook her head in agreement. "At least you're weren't like Rodney."

"I'll find a girl sooner or later," Cody told himself before he left.

Beth pulled out her tiki doll. "This thing really is a good luck charm."

Shawn is seen walking to Jo who was at the beach.

"Why did you take my kit?" Shawn said urgently.

"We all have to do what we have to do in order to win." Jo quoted. "My team's been winning now and I didn't want that to end."

"Well now my team's the one with the longest losing streak." Shawn leered at her.

"That's not my problem anymore." Jo cockily said. "Do yourself a favor and vote off Protein Puff. He's the reason you lost."

As Jo walked away, Shawn was thinking to himself about what to do.

Soon we cut to the campfire ceremony where the Killer Bass and Chris were.

"Another loss in a row, you guys need to step up your game." Chris advised.

"Anyway marshmallows go to…" Chris began.

"Mike."

Mike smiled as he went to collect his marshmallow.

"Amy."

Amy gave a neutral expression as she went to get her marshmallow.

"Harold."

Harold smirked as he went to claim him marshmallow.

"Duncan."

Duncan also smirked as he walked up to get a marshmallow.

"Sky."

Sky smiled as she went to get a marshmallow.

"Shawn."

Shawn smirked as he got up to claim his marshmallow.

"Campers, there is only one marshmallow left, and it goes to…" Chris began.

"Dawn." Chris finished.

"Yes!" Dawn breathed and collected her marshmallow.

"Go board the Boat of Losers bro." Chris told Lightning.

"Sha-what?!" Lightning's eyes widened in shock. "You voted for the strongest player in the game? I guess I'm too good for y'all!" Lightning marched to the Dock of Shame, with his teammates looking annoyed or apathetic.

The scene cuts to Lightning on the dock. "They'll regret this. Without me, they'll be on a worse losing streak than the Philadelphia 76ers." He now left the screen.

Author's Note: Lightning wasn't really plot relevant at this point. He was a fun gag character but for the story to work, I had to eliminate him now.
