Pinky listened carefully as Lila was talking to Sparkle about something Pinky couldn't decipher. The last thing he saw before Lila closed the door on him was the foster carer with a pained expression. So just Gathering from that alone, it wasn't going to be a good conversation.
10 minutes later the door was open, Lila coming out with some tears rolling down her face. "Is everything okay?" Pinky asked, as he looked at Lila with worry. Lila shook her head, sniffing a little. "I'll let Sparkle tell you." She said quietly.
Pinky winced, motherly instincts kicking in. "Thank you, Lila." Pinky said softly.
Lila left after that, probably to clean herself up.
Pinky scurried into the bedroom, Sparkle quiet, most likely processing things. He waited a few moments, waiting for the right time to go over to her. As soon as he heard her sob, he climbed up to her, nuzzling her comfortingly.
"They died, Pinky!" Sparkle sobbed.
"Who died, Sweetie?" Pinky asked softly.
Sparkle took a deep breath, hating how wobbly it sounded. "My best friend from school..." she said shakily.
"Do Brain and I know them? He asked.
"Their name was Violet." Sparkle sniffed.
Pinky had remembered her talking about them, he remembered her talking about Violet and how they didn't come to school as often anymore because of their health. But even that was still shocking.
Pinky felt horrible.
"I'm so sorry, Baby..." Pinky apologised softly, wrapping his arms around her neck, trying to console her.
The-They were my best friend, Mommy..." she sobbed.
Pinky kissed her nose comfortingly, allowing her to cry and grieve the sudden loss.
Brain came in moments later, already being able to sense the ambience of the room. Fatherly instincts kicked in as the megalomaniac scurried over to them. "What happened, my Love?" Brain asked gently, despising how upset his little girl was.
"Violet passed away, Papa..." she sobbed.
Brain let out a quiet gasp, unable to believe what his mousy ears were hearing. " The friend you went to school with?" Brain asked.
A nod was the answer he received.
Brain's ears drooped falling backwards onto his head. "Oh, Sparkle my Darling Angel... I am so so terribly sorry... Do you know how they passed away?" He asked.
"Something inside their brain, I think." She hiccuped.
"A brain tumour?" Brain offered.
"I think so... It got bigger and bigger until they could not breathe no more..." she continued, voice shaking.
"Who told you, Dear?" Brain asked.
"Lila did." Sparkle confessed.
Brain nodded. "I see." He said.
An hour later Sparkle and her lab mice parental figures were quietly watching Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas, all of them still trying to process what just happened. Sparkle was quiet throughout the movie, not even chuckling at the Christmas montage between Huey Dewey and Louie. But the lab mice understood, things were crossing her mind right now and she needed time to process things. Carl came in, also being able to completely understand the atmosphere of the room right now. You could cut through the tension with a knife.
He sits down next to her, silently gripping her hand as a silent reminder that he's here. She squeezed it tight, sobbing loudly. Carl instinctively hugged his grieving sister, unable to imagine the pain she must be feeling.
He wasn't close to Violet like his sister was, but he understood. He understands the pain of losing a close friend very well, there was a lot of friends he lost over the years through death, or them moving away and losing contact, so he truly did understand how his sister felt.
They continued watching movies, Roman followed by the twins joining their movie marathon. Sparkle didn't know how to feel, she was heartbroken, Violet died. They were never coming back. Violet was gone. She just cried, her family comforting her.
"It's gonna be okay, sis." Roman said comfortingly.
She appreciated the comfort, but nothing would make her feel better right now.
She would forever feel broken.
Later that night, sparkle tried to get to sleep, but couldn't stop thinking about them. She looked up at the ceiling, waiting for them to just suddenly appear out of thin air, but they didn't, and she knew they wouldn't. But she wanted them to come back, even if it was just for an hour just so she could tell them how important they were to her.
But she couldn't do that anymore.
The next day, she wrote them a poem, and posted it through their door.
My Heart will Remain With You poem by Sparkle Miller.
My heart will remain with you. Even though you will not.
My heart will remain with you despite you not being here. My heart will remain with you as I shed these tears.
My heart will remain with you as I reminisce of all the good times. My heart will remain with you as I remember your smile.
My heart will remain with you until the end of time. My heart will remain with you despite the sweet sorrow. My heart will remain with you for many more tomorrows.
My heart will remain with you as I look up to the sky.
My heart will remain with you as I whisper goodnight….
She posted it through their door, hoping they would like it.
Pinky and Brain waited a few feet away, waiting for their daughter to be done. After she posted the letter through the door, he just stared at it for awhile, unable to believe that this was actually real now.
Sparkle started to cry again, her lab mice rushing over to console her.
"The-They're gone, guys!" Sparkle sobbed.
Brain kissed her forehead comfortingly. "Shhhh shhhh, I know sweetheart… I know… I know… they will forever remain with you, I know it… just like Demi does… they're both watching you, saying 'Look at how amazing our best friend is doing!' So you see my Love? They shall always be with you." Brain murmured comfortingly .
A/N:
Hi Everyone…
I have some sad news to report, my best friend, violet (not the real name) has unfortunately passed away from a brain tumour… my heart is shattered, they were my sister, and I was theirs… my heart is broken and I don't know if it'll ever heal…(
Crying*
I wish they were still here, really I wish they were, they were my best friend….
Now that's Demi and Violet gone…. I'm broken…. I didn't even get to say goodbye to them, the last message they sent me was the fact that they wouldn't be online that day because they had a migraine…. I can't honestly believe that they're gone now… I am forever broken.
May Violet rest with a great big smile in their heart. Goodnight everybody….:)
