The night was fortunately quiet at the Loud house, Lisa was scavenging her old project files in her computer and starts deleting the ones which she didn't care about anymore or didn't work as planned, she stopped as she came across one old project that she considered might be useful or simply fun for her to bring back; the Ultrasonic Mouse Trap she made when she was younger, initially with the purpose of hypnotizing mice like in that silly old story she read about as a kid, but unusually (yet kind of predictably) worked on Leni as well due to her "simple mind" as she rather call it, she smiled as an idea came to mind and decided to fix and improve the invention, at that moment Lily shows up with a Soda behind Lisa.
Lily: "Whatcha doing there?"
Lisa quickly hides her screen to conceal her plans getting away with that.
Lisa: "Nothing!"
As the hours pass Lisa works on the device in her desk, her favorite cup that says "World's greatest evil genius" more to tell others to not bother her than to actually imply her intentional mischievousness was slowly draining as she tried to keep herself awake to finish her project as soon as possible, even if it took her all night long. Finally, and after 8 cups of coffee she finishes the new and improved Mouse Trap, smaller, elegant and with way more power.
Lisa: "Eureka!"
Lily, her still roommate after all these years, was half asleep behind her on her bed and complained about the noise her older sister was causing.
Lily: "Come on Lis… It's 3 am…"
Her groans were enough to snap Lisa from the delight on her success and turn her attention on Lily.
Lisa: "Sorry, Lils."
Lisa then looked at Lily sleeping back again peacefully, she smirks maliciously as an idea comes to mind.
The next morning Lily wakes up from bed, the clock on the wall saying 5am and feeling rested even if Lisa kept her from sleeping more than 5 hours.
Lily: "Yawn!"
Lily headed to the bathroom across the hallway, no lines to be had since it was both a very early Saturday morning and since in recent years the Loud house had less people in it, it was decided that Lily was going to be the last kid Rita and Lynn Senior would have, and as some of the eldest sisters grew up they slowly moved away, the parents also decided to move and rest on their own new smaller home close by in Royal Woods to have more time for themselves, the Louds were now old enough and mostly more responsible so the current owners of the house were Luna and Luan who still lived there, though Luan was often out working and Luna constantly staying over with her girlfriend Sam; when Lily started to brush her teeth Lisa arrived behind her.
Lisa: "Morning, Lil!"
Lily: "Hey, Lisa!"
Lisa: "Slept well?"
Lisa, containing her excitement, cockily asked.
Lily: "You mean after you kept me awake by working on your shenanigans when it was still dark? Surprisingly, yes."
Though Lily was more sarcastic about her answer, then Lisa leans close to her.
Lisa: "Good, so nice you had a lovely nap last night."
Lily goes stiff as she hears those words, then she suddenly fell asleep right there, standing with her arms limp.
Lisa: "It worked! My mind control device is a success!"
Lisa, proud of herself then snaps her fingers, the sound makes Lily react by rubbing her eyes sleepily as she wakes up.
Lisa: "Wakey wakey, sis."
Lily: "Hmph? Lis?"
Lily notices she's been drooling and is confused at what happened.
Lily: "Ew, did I fall asleep?"
Lisa grabs Lily's hand and takes her away from the bathroom, walking down the hallway back to their room.
Lisa: "Follow me sis, I have some explanation to do."
Lisa poses in her chair maliciously staring at Lily after telling her what she did.
Lisa: "So, how's that?"
Lily looks surprised at what her big sister just told her.
Lily: "So you managed to hypnotize me?"
Then Lily's face then looks amazed.
Lily: "That's so cool, Lisa!"
Lisa gestures proudly at the reaction of admiration from her little sister.
Lisa: "It still needs some adjustments though, I need someone to help me with the testing and I picked you for that, Lily."
Lily looks at her suspiciously at what those tests could refer to and the purpose she picked her.
Lily: "Like a guinea pig or a sidekick?"
Lisa simply replied.
Lisa: "Sidekick."
Lily smiles casually, relieved she wouldn't be a test subject in whatever plan Lisa had.
Lily: "Alright! I'm in!"
Lisa: "Perfect, I'm planning to test this on the others while they're asleep"
Lisa fixes her glasses showing off as she explains her plan.
Lisa: "We'll go one by one to our siblings' rooms and play the frequencies of my device, plant some triggers and try them in the morning."
Lily: "Sounds easy enough."
Lily looked at her with admiration in her eyes, this whole plan wasn't really surprising coming from Lisa, who occasionally monologues how much information she knows and how much secret experimenting she does on her siblings, also Lily being the roommate of her smartest and most reliable sister didn't totally made her mad like her other sisters, a side from sleep deprivation some nights, she could always count on Lisa with help on homework; and as for Lisa, she had a trusting sister and friend by her side since Lily grew up with a smart and pretty role model such as her.
Lisa: "It is pretty easy, I designed this like 16 years ago and still impresses me how much it held up."
Lisa sips the last bits of coffee from her cup feeling proud of herself.
Lily: "You're amazing, Lis!"
Lisa smiles and stares at her empty coffee tankard next to some plans of her other inventions, some droplets of brown all over the papers.
Lisa: "I know I'm the best, but now I need more coffee."
Lily: "Me too, want me to get you some?"
Lisa stands and goes to the door that's slightly open.
Lisa: "Nah, I'll bring us some."
Lily: "Also bring some sugar for me, please!"
As Lisa returns with the tankard refilled with coffee in one hand, and a cup with sugar designed with a cute drawing of butterflies and the name 'Lily' on the other they both drink ready to start their mischievous scheme.

It was dark, pitch black, until the Loud girl slowly opened her eyelids to look at the window, the sun barely rising at 6am as the first test subject of the Mouse Trap device awoke...
