Luna's POV:

"Luna, Luna, come here" the sickly-sweet voices of my adopted parents ran through the bedroom. I despised them, I would rather live with ET than live the rest of my life with them. As I neared, they looked the picture of innocence - as though merely beckoning me in for a hug - I wish they'd cut the pretences, we all know better. I was used to the pain but it still managed to shock me when the swift contact caused something close to agony and anger to strike through me. I wasn't sure why I still got consumed by that anger. Maybe it's the unfairness? Who knows. At least it'll be over soon, just 3 months then I'll be gone, gone from them and gone from Jasper.

To avoid whatever it was they had planned next I dodged around them to get my bag and get to school.

Living in Jasper Nevada meant that it only took five minutes for me to reach the school from the outskirts of the confined town. Having reached my destination, I came to a halt in front of my friends (I think anyway, they've been... distracted lately, haven't been bothered to hangout. It's fine though); Jack, Miko and Raphael.

"Hey g—" I started, unfortunately, it seemed that school had to begin so I was cut short by the bell.

"Rude," trudging into the hell-hole I slung an arm around my friend. "What do you want to bet that Mrs Haul'll give Miko another detention for not doing the homework? I've got a couple bucks I could stand to win." Jack huffed a laugh,

"Yeah, well I can't afford to make a losing bet. See you after homeroom?" He dodged around the corner with Raf, and Miko left for the 'torture' that was registration. Looking out the widow down at the road, I saw a semi leaving the parking lot. It looked familiar but I couldn't think of one person in the whole of Jasper with a truck that big. Perhaps someone new?

Six hours later:

"Bye guys, I'm gonna head out, you want to come?" It used to be tradition. If I'd had a Bad Day we'd go out to the dunes and just be but as had become routine, they made excuses with 'study group'. I tried to ignore the way it made my heart clench, they're allowed to have lives outside of me - but what was so secret about 'studying' that they couldn't invite me!

My train wreck of thoughts and confusing feelings made the walk seem very short but I still set about my routine of making sure I was alone and pulled out my sketch pad. Venting my emotions, pain and anxiety into paper always felt good and miraculously, no matter how I was feeling, I always managed to produce astonishing artwork - though I don't usually brag about it, that wouldn't end well for me. Suddenly, my solitude was crippled at the arrival of two strange and intriguing portals: however, they didn't emit the same auras. The one on my right felt bone-chillingly cold and uninviting. I was more inclined to investigate the left portal because it felt warm and comforting. Then, a towering mechanical titan decided to run out of each and battle like gladiators in a vast Colosseum - my intrusive imagination will get me killed one of these days - I had to dodge sprays of rocky debris as the right sided giant (for the sake of succinctness let's call them Stiletto) tried to goad his adversary,

"You are weak Optimus Prime and it is by my hand that you will come to your demise!"

This guy obviously had anger issues and a high opinion of themself, so I decided to aid the one who appeared to be recovering from being thrown into a solid rock wall by challenging them.

"Hey, stiletto heels! How about you pick on somebody... not your own size?!" Ok, so, not my best work but, hey, I think I'm allowed a bit of shock-related performance loss.

Optimus Primes POV:

Scrap, this human femme sure has a lot of courage, but I need to get her out of here before Starscream either captures or squishes her. Though both is an option I suppose, and one bound to end in a rather untimely and unpleasant death for her.

"Oh sh*t!" I heard her squeal (curious, she sounds familiar) as she ran quickly, though with a slight limp, to dodge behind a dune. With my plan formulated I acted as quickly as I was able - I'll have to have Ratchet check my helm - using the human as a distraction I waited for an opening then transformed my servos into blades (undoubtedly one of my better weapons) and struck. Unfortunately, before I could land much of an effective strike, Starscream decided to retreat, without my enemy posing a threat, and being out of sight, I chose to go and find the human that saved me.

"H-hello" I heard the femme's hesitant voice coming from behind me, so I turned around to face a most beautiful human (odd. I wasn't aware that as a Cybertronian I was capable of interspecies attraction). She had short golden hair with pale skin, her eyes, unsure and squinting against the light that shined against my frame, were as blue as any Autobots optics. I knew what I had to do, it's protocol now after all - Ratchet will be thrilled.

"Hello, what is your name?" I asked her, only able to hope that she would understand the threat that was now posed to her,

"L-Luna, my name is Luna. What's yours?" she stuttered, a rather different reaction than Miko's excitable questioning. Though not unexpected, I am several times her size.

"My name is Optimus Prime, I am an autonomous robotic organism from the planet Cybertron, also known as an Autobot. The mech you saved me from was Starscream the second in command of the Decepticons." By this time, I was transformed into my alt mode as she made her response,

"So, you're an alien? I'm guessing so because you're from a different planet and you're definitely not manufactured on this planet. I'm also going to assume that there are more of you. Could I meet them?" Questions were to be expected I suppose, though at least there isn't a barrage of them.

"Indeed, I am to this planet's inhabitants, an alien. I believe it would be best if you came back with me, for now that Starscream has seen you, the Decepticons will most likely attempt to capture you, and your aid, though I greatly appreciated, will cause them to believe you are allied with us, posing a grave threat to your wellbeing."

"Then let's get going! No time like the present to procrastinate going home." That is potentially concerning but I filed it away for later, perhaps she has the same aversion to parental units as Miko. And she scrambled into my interior.

"Very well, would you like to ground bridge?"

"If you mean to go through the portal thingy then, of course, why not?"

On cue, I contacted Ratchet and told him the situation, I think he nearly glitched when I told him another human was coming - Luna does seem more Raphael than Miko though, so he'll probably like her - and a ground bridge opened before us.
