Jinjing's Holiday Special by: VampireGirlFan1

Summary: It's Winter Festival at the Valley of Peace. Jinjing loves the Winter Festival. It's her favorite holiday. Po is hosting the Winter Feast at the Jade Palace. When Jinjing heard that Po can't spend the holiday with his dad, she felt bad for him. So, she decided to let Po do what his heart tells him to do.

This is my third Kung Fu Panda FanFiction story. Like The Story of Jinjing, I hope it goes well.

This story takes place after The Story of Jinjing and before The Story of Jinjing 2.

I wrote this last year but never post it because I was waiting for the right moment to do it.

This is a Christmas FanFiction story. This is my first time writing one. Kung Fu Panda Holiday is one of my favorite holiday movies and/or specials, besides Dreamworks' Shrek The Halls, Disney-Pixar Toy Story That Time Forgot, 20th Century Fox's Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas, and Dreamworks' Merry Madagascar. I also love Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, How The Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carey version is the best one), Elf, It's A Wonderful Life, The Polar Express, Christmas with the Kranks, A Puppy for Christmas, Disney's Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas, Disney's Noelle, Disney's The Nutcracker & the Four Realms, and Disney's The Santa Clause franchise. I even watch Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel. I watched Kung Fu Panda Holiday when it was on Netflix a few times even during Christmas time and I love it. It's part of the Kung Fu Panda franchise.

Christmas is my favorite time of year. I really love everything about Christmas: Decorating the tree, spending time with my family, listening to Christmas music, and watching Christmas movies while drinking hot chocolate and being cuddled up in a blanket to get warm and read a book.

Rated K for all general audiences.

TW: Mentions of character death will be in the story.

Here's chapter 1! Enjoy

Chapter 1

Jinjing walks down to the Valley of Peace with her uncle, Shifu. They're on their way to Mr. Ping's noodle shop. By the time they got there, they saw Po devouring a whole pot of noodles.

"Good morning, Dragon Warrior," Shifu said.

"Good morning, Po," Jinjing said.

Po puts the pot down and then turns around with his mouth full. "I was just practicing my… empty belly defense," Po said as he slurps the remaining noodles.

"Uh-huh. Sure you were," Jinjing said with amusement.

"Mr. Ping, may Jinjing and I borrow Po for a moment?" Shifu asked. Mr. Ping was taking out the decorations.

"Well, actually we're very busy decorating for the… holidays…" Mr. Ping said as Po walked up to the red pandas.

"Po, I've come to talk to you about the Winter Feast at the Jade Palace. You will be…" Shifu started to say.

"Be coming? The Winter Feast? With the Kung Fu masters from all the provinces?" Po asked with excitement.

"No. Po. You will not be invited," Shifu said as Po's face fell in disappointment.

"You will be hosting," Jinjing said.

"Me? Ho-ho-hosting?" Po said as he cheers. Jinjing nodded her head.

"Wonderful news, is it not? As the Dragon Warrior, this is one of your most critical duties," Shifu said.

"Wow… Thank you, Shifu," Po said. Shifu, Po, and Jinjing walked outside together with Mr. Ping behind them, listening.

"Po, this is a big opportunity for you. Your first time with all the kung fu masters…" Shifu said.

"The Winter Feast is legendary! I'll bet you got the best, biggest, brightest sun lanterns, and dancing—" Po said.

"Po, please stop," Jinjing said.

"This is the Winter Feast. It is perfection. Always elegant. Always formal," Shifu said.

"Awesome, awesome. I'm all about elegant. Fancy stuff, and fine dinin'…" Po said. Jinjing and Shifu pause and look at Po.

"Po, you have some noodle in your neck fat," Jinjing said.

"Hmm? Oh," Po said eating the noodle.

"What I am saying, Po, is that dancing and sun lanterns… those are common traditions," Shifu said.

"So common. I mean, dancing? Come on, sun lanterns? Heh. Weak!" Po said. He turns to Mr. Ping. "Dad, isn't this great?" Po asked his dad, who laughed weakly. Jinjing stared at the goose. She knows something's wrong (A/N). Then, a villager approaches the noodle shop.

"Dragon Warrior! Please come quickly! There are bandits at the bridge!" the pig said.

"What? I'm on it! See ya, dad! Thanks again, Master Shifu! Bye, Jinjing!" Po said running off to where the bandits are at. Mr. Ping stutters as if to call Po, and then he turns to Shifu.

"Mr. Ping," he said as he gestures a leave and turns to leave. Jinjing turns to the goose and then walks up to him.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Ping," Jinjing said.

"It's fine, Jinjing," Mr. Ping said sadly.

"No, it's not. I can see that you're upset, I get it. You and Po have spent the Winter Festival together for years. I was very little when I spent the holiday with Yue and my mom. But, I don't think that I remember those. It's really hard for me to think of my mom during that time of year," Jinjing said.

"I'm sorry about your mom," Mr. Ping said.

"Thank you. She was a beautiful woman. Anyway, I'm heading to see Yue. Bye," Jinjing said.

"Bye," Mr. Ping said.

That's chapter 1 of Jinjing's Holiday Special

Don't worry, I'm still writing The Story of Jinjing 2 and Over the Hedge: A New Perspective.

I'll write the next chapter of the story sometime in December
