Chapter 3
A Fight within a Cave
As the mercs get closer to the place, they park far enough from the place but close enough to walk there. As they walked towards the place they could see something on their heartbeat sensors, it looked like a giant blob on the sensor and it was a few meters away. So they took a look at it from a distance with binoculars and it was a small group of goblins standing guard around a cave. There were five of them in sight with rusted swords and clubs. So the recruit leader told the rest of the squad to take aim, then they fired at the goblins.

All of the goblins dropped onto the ground. Then the rest of the mercenaries came out of the brushes and checked the bodies, they were all shot in the center mass or the head so the squad leader and another merc checked if they were dead. All of them were dead with nothing of the sort of interest then the recruit squad leader told Lex to activate her echolocation sensor to map out the cave, then Lex activated it. Also, the recruit squad leader told the rest of the team to turn on their NVGs.
As they enter the cave they meet a fork in the cave. Lex pointed out that the one on the left leads to a small area with something in there and the one on the right leads to what Lex believes is the main hub area for the goblins. So the recruit squad leader makes the decision to go left to check just in case there are any survivors. As they headed down the left corridor they could smell feces and decay. That led to the conclusion that it was a waste pile that the goblins have. Then they see something in the heartbeat sensor, a small gray dot that is dim and is beating slowly. So they prepare to go towards the waste area. As they entered the waste area they could see a lot of goblin feces, bones and skeletons, and rusted tools. Then as they go towards the heartbeat on the sensors they could see a naked human woman with deep slashes and dark burn marks, on the verge of dying. The squad leader ordered a Stimulant shot and bandages for the women and one of the mercs went through one of their pouches, grabbed a medkit then opened it, grabbed the stimulant shot and bandages, then handed it to the squad leader. The squad leader puts the bandages on any wounds or burn marks, then injects the needle into a major vein artery in the thigh, then injects the morphine. The woman's heartbeat starts to increase slowly and her breathing as well. The squad leader told one of the mercs to put a cloth on her and bring her out of the cave. So the merc that was called on grabbed a nearby cloth that was big enough to cover her body, then they put her onto their back. Then the mercs started to escort the merc with the women towards the entrance. They saw no contact on the way there so they dropped off the women onto the jeep and one of the mercs stayed back to treat their wounds. As the mercs head back into the cave and go to the main hub. They saw a huge blob on their heartbeat sensor to their left then Lex said something through the comms,
"Hey, I believe there are eight goblins in there"
"Can you tell us what they are?" asked the squad Leader
"No, not really," Lex replied back
"Okay, ready a flash," said the squad leader
Then they all stacked up with the squad leader in the back and lex in the front. One of the mercs grabbed a flash grenade from one of their pouches then holds it in front of Lex, Lex nodded then the merc unpins the flash then tosses the flash in,

BOOM*
Lex is the first one to enter the room then she shoots a shaman and a hob, another merc enters the room after lex and they shoot two goblins on a teenage girl, after them another merc enters and they shoot at another two goblins on another teenage-looking girl, then the squad leader enters the room. The room was clear of enemy threats so they looked at the girls that were violated by the goblins. They looked at the girls and they attended to their wounds, from scars to other marks, they also checked on their wombs with a supersonic camera on hand, and there was nothing. As they were about head out of the cave they all heard a noise from behind the goblin shaman's throne so the squad leader told two of the Mercs to head over to check it out then,
"It's six goblin children," Lex said
Then the squad leader said,
"Your clear to open fire,"
Then without hesitation, the two mercs started to open fire with their rifles toward the goblin children. The two mercs checked on the goblin children to make sure they were dead. As they were checking them, one of them noticed a necklace of sorts on the shaman and it had fifteen adventurer porcelain tags so the merc grabbed it. They headed back to the rest of the group that was already outside of the cave. As they got outside they saw another group of adventurers talking with the rest of the team. When the squad leader saw the two coming he told them that the cave was clear of goblins and the group of adventurers were glum that they weren't able to do the quest. So then the adventurers left first, then the mercs left after them. The mercs went toward the jeep with the other mercenary. As they arrived they could see that the merc was about to take a smoke then as they saw the others coming, so they put their cigs away. The mercs put the girls onto the jeep with the other women in the back, and the rest of the mercs get on the jeep as well. Then they start to drive towards the city.
As they reach the city they first go toward the church to drop off the girls and women. As they reach the church, Lex goes into the church to get a staff member. It takes a few minutes for Lex to get a church staff member, then two mercs get off the jeep and the other one stays in the jeep. The one in the jeep hands the mercs to the girls then hands the women to Lex. After they were done with that they headed back to the cabin to pick up the rest of the mercenaries. As they headed out the gate they could see in the distance the same person in armor heading towards the city. So they drive towards them, as they arrive Lex asked them something,
"Hey, you need a ride?"
The man in armor looked at the jeep and at them, then nodded his head. Then the mercs moved over then gestured them to get on, then the man did. They started to head back into the city to drop off the man in armor. As they reached the gate again they slowed down a bit. Then,
"You can drop me off here," said the man in armor
"Are you sure?" asked Lex
"Yes," the man in armor said
Then they stopped, then the man in armor got off the jeep, looked back at the mercs then did a small bow, then headed towards the city. Then the mercs started to drive back toward the cabin. As they reached the cabin they could see some mercs helping out with farm work and some resting, not in their armor. As they parked next to the other jeep they get off to tell the actual squad leader that the contract was done and that they'll give the report to him. As they go towards the squad leader, the recruit squad leader grabs the squad leader's attention. Then he uploads the report to the leader. The squad leader got it and then looked at his wrist device to look at the report. Then the squad leader asked for a blank piece of paper from the man, then the man started rummaging through some stuff then he handed over a blank piece of paper. The squad leader sits next to the table and then starts to copy the report onto the paper in a weird language, probably this world's language.
