Have you ever wondered what it was like to have nightmares?
Touma Kamijou would like to think so. He's been having nightmares for a while. It all relates to an event that he'd rather try to forget if he were to be honest. But another part of him doesn't even want to forget because of all of the people that he meets. The idea of phantom pain was not lost on something like him. Getting hanged, getting stabbed, getting shot, getting maimed, every single form of hurt that had ever been brought to man, Touma Kamijou had experienced one way or another.
There was silence.
"...!"
Then comes the awakening.
A twelve-year-old spiky-haired boy woke up immediately from his bed and sat up straight, holding his blanket, and widening his eyes as he stared at a ceiling reflecting the stars of the endless space where people look up whenever nightfall comes. He was breathing fast and trying his best to slow it down, finding comfort only in the shadows of the room. Sitting up straight, he looked around but saw nothing except a few wooden desks and furniture.
Right, he thought once he begins to clear his head. He was still in the TARDIS. He was alone in his bed. Just alone. The echoes were never real. Only phantoms and shadows of a past that still haunted him. His breathing slowed down a bit. The soft bed was no longer a comfort to him. Not after the nightmare that he had just had.
Another nightmare...
He begins to touch the tip of his brow, noticing that it was covered in sweat. He closed his eyes for a bit before trying to breathe in and out, trying his best to calm his mind and heart. He focused all of his energies on simply breathing in and out.
"Bad dream, have you, youngling?"
"...!"
Kamijou was surprised when he heard a familiar voice full of concern and a touch of gentleness that made him feel at ease. He turns to his right and sees a little green creature with pointy ears, the green skin that reminded one of a Shar-Pei, and looked to be about 900 years old...maybe more, but it could be hard to tell from a physical standpoint. He was also wielding an old brown cane appropriate for his size.
Kamijou was quiet for a few moments, taking in the image of the deceased luminous individual in front of him. He didn't need to ask how this person got here. The TARDIS probably let him in. He speaks softly.
"...Master Yoda?" Kamijou said. "What...What are you doing here? I mean..." He looked in a few west and east directions before settling upon the Jedi Master.
"...Hmm. Still feeling the scars of the past, you are," Yoda made a sad smile. He walks towards him with his cane before sitting on the bed. "Came here, I did, to warn you for something."
"Warn me?" Kamijou's attention was fixed.
"Cannot say what it is I do, but giving you a hint, well it would serve you and for the Doctor," Yoda smiled, his gentle green eyes bore into Kamijou's black eyes that looked tired and war-weary. Yoda continued speaking. "Happening, something is, come from, in the galaxy that I had. Long ago for me it has been, a time where nothing but war and shadow and darkness had permeated throughout the galaxy. A time divided by war...A time, many mistakes, I and other Jedi have made...A time, too late we have acted...A time, many mistakes, we have made...A time, failed we have..." Yoda's smile turn sad at each sentence that had been uttered, and his ears were moving downward to go along with his expression.
"...Are you...Are you talking about the Clone Wars?" Kamijou asked, his expression full of worry. What else could it have been, he thought?
"...Hmm," Yoda nodded with a deep hum. "Tell the Doctor you must. Go back to where it all began for you, you must. Face this darkness, you must. But face your own darkness, you will have to as well. "
"...!" Kamijou's heart felt like it was beating fast as soon as Yoda dictated to him what he must do. "...You, you want me to go back to the Clone Wars, aren't you?"
"...Pains me to ask this of you, it is, young one, but making their move upon the galaxy, dark forces and their elusive machinations are. Threatened, time is, be the same it is that you or the Doctor or anyone else could truly remember may not. Face a facet of your own past, you must. Facing the darkness from within and from without, you must. For that has been, calling to do since you became a Jedi Lord, you are," Yoda counseled with a grim tone.
A Jedi Lord.
Yes, Kamijou remembered. He remembered how he was given that title. He spent thirty-three years in a sacred realm where he would focus to hone all of his powers and abilities within the Force. He made many friends and made many memories. But the nightmares, despite lessening, were still there. Like a war veteran who had seen too much, Kamijou had experienced several untold lifetimes. Lifetimes that made him quite a legend in the Multiverse, bearing the common title of 'The Wanderer'.
Kamijou was conflicted. Yoda was literally asking him to visit one of many places in the history of the Multiverse that he had past experiences of. He recalled all of the blaster wounds that he got from the brainwashed Clone Troopers that were forced to gun down their Jedi Generals and Commanders...and even the Younglings... He bore witness to the fall of one of his old friends and failed to save him, so many times... The war changed his old friend, too much to the point of desperation...
But...he knew that he couldn't run from his past forever...
Kamijou sighed with a heavy heart, still looking quite conflicted as tears lay down from his face as he remembers the hellish nightmare of long ago, and the echoes of which still haunt him to this day. "I will do as you ask, Master Yoda...But...I would still humbly admit to myself that I am not ready to visit that universe...that galaxy... That galaxy had brought me a lot of bad memories during The Test. I can still...I can still remember...all of those screams, all of the children butchered by someone that I once called a friend only for the sake of his wife... I saw and lived through the rise and fall of a would-be emperor who made so many of the denizens suffer at his hand, and the consequences of his machinations are still felt in future centuries. I knew the history of that galaxy by heart, by experience, and by the road of everlasting pain..."
"Know this, I do," Yoda reassured with a gentle smile, touching the young boy's shoulder. "To be ready to face one's darkness and one's past, no one really knew the time. The time that is to be given to us, we all have to decide. Take heart, youngling, for not alone this time, you are. Where I have come from, the galaxy has need of you. Wherever you go, watching you, I will be."
Kamijou nodded. "...I understand."
Yoda smiled. "Good. Now...chin up, you must," He used his walking stick to gently raise Kamijou's chin straight. "Smiles would do better, it would. Hmm. Adventure awaits you, it will. Old friends you will meet, old enemies you may encounter, but at the end of this path lies a new purpose, serve you well on your journey, that would be. Be not afraid. Stand your ground, you must. Learn to walk the ground with two feet, you must. Remember all of the training that, given you in the Realm Eternal, have I. Trust in the Force. Let it guide you and the creatures that lay dormant inside you. Seek not more power, but seek instead compassion, love, and mercy. Dialogue and peace, you must always seek. If for war there comes a time, follow the way of violence and hatred not, but through fortitude and temperance, prudence and justice. Balance, yes. Balance is the key. Most importantly, trust in the friends that you have, hmm."
Kamijou nodded, but he still had tears in his eyes.
"Now, go I must. Remember well, that I have told you now. Remember, trust in the Force. May the Force be with you, Touma Kamijou," Yoda smiled gently before disappearing into thin air, leaving Kamijou to ponder all that the old master had given him.
Kamijou wiped his tears gently, breathing in and out, and moves a few paces in order to sit down on the edge of the bed. He looks to a picture somewhere in a nearby wooden table that had a picture of him with a happy smile. There was a girl with blue indigo hair who was right next to him, holding his right hand and smiling from the camera while her head was placed near his shoulder. And there were other individuals in the camera who were also smiling. All of them, with Kamijou and the girl included, numbered about eight individuals.
Kamijou, looking at the picture, breathes deeply and looks at the picture in silence. His eyes, upon looking at the girl, only smiled with a much deeper meaning. He stayed like this for about five minutes. Until...
"Touma-san."
Someone called for him. He turns around to find a boy standing in the nearby doorway. He had blue eyes and short dark brown hair, wearing casual clothing that consisted of a white shirt, blue jacket, black pants, and black shoes.
"Ah, Shinichi-san," Kamijou smiled upon seeing his best friend. He stands up from his bed and walks towards the former.
"Hold on? Are you...crying?" Shinichi Kudo said, looking at his friend with concern as he noticed the latter's eyes.
"...Ah, don't worry about it," Kamijou said with a smile, waving his right hand in order to reassure him. "Actually, do you know where the Doctor is right now?"
"He's back at the main console room along with Rex, why?" Shinichi asked.
"...Well, Master Yoda visited me, not too long ago," Kamijou said.
"Wait, he did?" Shinichi said, concerned.
"Yeah," Kamijou nodded. "But we should probably head to the Doctor. He needs to hear what Master Yoda told me. He said something about...dark forces and events happening in the Skyriver Galaxy."

Medieval Music - Sir Gawain
"Rex, hand me the sonic wrench."
"Yes, sir."
Somewhere was a place called the main console room of the space-time ship TARDIS. The console room consisted of a circular area, with a red-tiled ramp leading from the doors to a hexagonal platform. On the platform was a second, circular platform. There was also a set of jump seats situated on the other side of the platform, but were occasionally moved. One would recline in the jump seats frequently from time to time. The entire room was supported by six coral pillars arranged in a hexagonal pattern that met with the top of the time rotor at the room's ceiling. There were also several black wires connecting to the time rotor. Under the main platform were storage areas large enough for the pilot to enter oneself to retrieve items, though some were packed to just below the top. It was also dim, illuminated by the less noticeable glow of green or cyan light from the time rotor column in the centre of the room and the lights in the hexagons on the walls.
But this is merely when looking at the physical property of the senses. What this place actually was lay a small universe-opinions that differed as to the meaning of 'small' in such a context-a microcosm block-transferred from mathematics itself. A living beat of time calculations and transdimensional equations, designed to relate to its pilot via a symbiotic bond woven into that pilot's very being. This was how the people that commanded their ships-TARDISes like this blue box.
However, the person who had engineered this TARDIS, the Doctor, had fitted some subtle amendments to the basic design. Several sections of the ship were not block transfers at all but built from actual materials from the real universe rather than dreamed out of the minds of his people's own mathematicians. These areas could bypass the symbiotic relationship, allowing a physical, nut's-and-bolts approach to controlling the ship.
Why a Lord of Time should do such a thing, equipping such an exotic and sophisticated machine with crude manual controls, who could tell? Perhaps the ship's owner had become wary of overreliance on super-technologies. Perhaps he wished the TARDIS to be usable by someone that isn't a Lord of Time, though such egalitarian thoughts rarely occurred to their Lords of Time in their arrogant solitude.
Right now, the Doctor, wearing his brown pinstriped suit with googles on his eyes, was using the sonic wrench that was handed over to him by an old friend named Rex. Rex was a Clone General of the Army, commanding the 501st Legion, one of high ranking that relates to an inter-multiverse organization called the Spatio-Temporal Armed Forces (STARS) whose main tasks are the preserve and keep the peace among other things.
Rex was now currently having a short break from his duties under the suggestions of the Doctor who was and still is under law and protocol, his superior and commanding officer. Of course, Rex wouldn't really say that the Doctor was so and so unless he had too and was smart enough not too. Neither would any of his other brethren for that matter. It was a thing of the past that his commanding officer wouldn't really see as glorious. If anything, it was just a grim reminder of regret.
Rex is assisting the Doctor in fixing the screws of the console. There was a bunch of electrical wiring that was put in proper order, making sure that they don't short circuit.
"Voilà!" the Doctor exclaimed as he stood up straight with a satisfied smile. "Finally managed to fix the old girl." He said as he patted the main console with care. He turn to Rex. "Welp, we should probably get Touma and Shinichi and tell them the good news that we are ready to go."
"I don't think that would be necessary, sir," Rex said, looking in the other direction. He tilted his head towards that same direction to indicate to the Doctor what he was referring to. The Doctor turned and saw Kamijou and Shinichi looking rather serious.
"Um, Doctor, there's...there's something you should know..." Kamijou said.
And so, Touma Kamijou told him everything that had occurred at this time. The time Master Yoda visited him and cryptically warned him about something happening in the galaxy far, far away. The Doctor listened and took into every single detail with a contemplative frown. Rex was listening as well, concerned about this as much as the Doctor.
They were concerned about this cryptic warning that Yoda had given to Kamijou. Dark forces making a potential move. That didn't really sounded good. The history and timeline of the Skyriver Galaxy, and by extension the universe that it originates from, had suffered for many inconsistent number of years. The Doctor and Rex should know as during a conflict that then only came to be known as the Time War, several devastations and atrocities have occurred. They were there to witness it as they were on the very front lines, leading the troopers and other forces into battle. It took a very long time for that galaxy to be fixed of its history. For that galaxy to be threatened again, it wasn't something that the both of them can ignore.
"...(Sigh). Well, Rex, from what Touma told us, it appears that we have no choice but to check the Skyriver Galaxy for any potential time anomalies," the Doctor said with a grim frown. "Although," He looked towards Kamijou, kneeling down to his height. "Are you sure you're up for this, Touma? Going back to that galaxy? I know about the general experiences that you have in that galaxy when you were subjected to The Test, so are you absolutely sure that you're fine with simply just going back?"
"Yeah," Kamijou nodded with a grim expression. "I...I still don't think that I'm ready, but...I need...I need to go back there eventually. I can't keep running forever. If there are people in danger, then I can't just stay on the sidelines and do absolutely nothing. That's not who I am, then or now."
"...Well," the Doctor smiled, proudly but sadly. "I suppose that's that, then."

YU-NO (Anime) Opening 2 Sub Español『Konomi Suzuki - MOTHER』
The Doctor begins to walk to the console and operate the controls. Switches were flipped, levers were pulled, and a hammer was stroked.
"Time to put the maintenance to the test," the Doctor said with excitement and vigor in his voice. "Allons-y!"

And thus, the TARDIS begins to dematerialize from whatever location it found itself on and passes through a swirling vortex.
The Time Vortex, also known as the Time and Space Vortex, the Space-Time Vortex, sometimes simply the Vortex, and occasionally the Bifrost or the Tourbillon, was the dimensional plane where time and space met, intersecting at an angle determined by non-Euclidean geometry.
Imagine, if you will, a vortex. A really powerful vortex that drags into itself anything that comes into its trajectory. A vortex made up of an infinite number of well, levels for want of a better description. And if they seem to diminish as they get towards the bottom of the vortex, rest assured, it's an illusion. For this vortex has no bottom. It is, being constructed of chronon energy, and thus temporal in nature, endless. Eternal. Bottomless, topless, middleless. It is neither linear nor multifaceted in existence. It is completely unique and is, theoretically, situated at the centre of creation (Whoniverse). Of course, in a multiverse that expands exponentially and is unfixed and infinite in nature, a 'centre' is a theoretical and practical impossibility For millennia, scholars have tried to fathom the true nature of what they have come to refer to as 'The Spiral'. They have failed because, of course, they cannot tell whether each time they examine the Spiral they are seeing it exponentially or randomly.
This place also acts like a bridge to other cosmologies, gateways to otherwards, and the TARDIS as a basic vessel was designed to travel through the Multiverse of any significant cosmological structure and type.
And now, the Blue Box was heading towards a galaxy far, far away.
But...
Something unexpected appears to have happened...
Beep. Beep. Beep.
The control systems were going haywire, the emergency lights blinked, making the Doctor and the others step back instinctively as sparks fly.
"What!" He exclaimed. He dashed like a madman as he tried to steady the ship with everything that he can muster, flipping a few switches as he swerves through the sparks of electricity. "What! What!" He exclaimed.
Everyone else was holding on to whatever nearest platform that they can find.
"Everyone, hang on!" the Doctor exclaimed, pulling out the emergency stabilisers. "We appeared to be caught by some kind of temporal storm. It's making the travel a bit difficult to navigate in the Vortex. Luckily enough, I have a few experiences in dealing with this kind of dangerous driving."
The TARDIS was swirling uncontrollably from the Vortex. It took the Doctor everything he had, all the skill and experience that he had accumulated and mustered in order to steer the ship. It managed to work as slowly but surely, and the Doctor, after punching through several coordinates, made it land in the nearest safe spot where they would be safe from the temporal storm.
The TARDIS would materialize in an unknown location and stop. The occupants were now holding a breath of fresh air after the turbulent frenzy that had occurred.
"Is everyone alright?" the Doctor asked, looking at the occupants who were holding onto the railings for dear life.
"We're...We're alright, sir," Rex made a heavy breath of relief, looking towards the companions.
"...Alright, now let's see where we've landed so far," the Doctor begins to walk toward the console screen while Rex helps the two companions on their feet, asking if they were alright, to which the companions responded with a 'Yes' and that they were alright. The Doctor begins to see the following. His grim expression would change to his eyes widening with recognition. "...Oh."
"What? What is it, sir?" Rex made a concerned expression, still assisting the companions.
"...Umm," the Doctor glances at Rex, back and forth between the former and the screen. "Well, good news is, we've landed just fine without crashing into anything. Bad news, however...I think that we may have attracted a bit of attention."
"How bad are we talking about here, sir?" Rex said, concerned.
"Well...bad to the point where you may need to use your other name, Rex," the Doctor said with a side glance4, one of his eyebrows raised.
Rex only made a sigh, facepalming. "Oh dear god..."
The Rishi Moon Outpost.
It was a galactic listening outpost located on the moon of the planet Rishi. It is one of a chain of Republic outposts intended to protect the cloning facilities on Kamino during the Clone Wars. As a key strategic location, it was subject to inspection by high-ranking clone officers. Despite its importance, it was a usually-quiet posting.
But...
Vworp Vworp Vworp
"What the kriff?!" one of the clone troopers said.
It was anything but quiet this time as multiple blasters were raised by the clones inside the station, not knowing what to do in this scenario. Was it an enemy attack conducted by the CIS? If it was, then this was by far the strangest tactic that they could ever do. And some of them even doubted that the CIS had anything to do with this as they never recalled the CIS having what appeared to be a blue box on their possession. It has the words 'POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX' on top of it.
They waited. And waited. And waited.
No one was coming out. The only thing standing there was just the box.
"Echo, you take point," Clone Sergeant O'Niner ordered the clone who was near him. The sergeant was still raising his blaster at the box.
"...Yes, sir," Clone Trooper Echo responded with hesitance. He moved slowly, as if to ascertain who was coming out. A few steps and already, there was the soft sound of a door being opened that led to all of the clones, Echo included, to raise their blasters to the door.
But then...
"What the?"
They were all confused as they lowered their blasters. They were seeing to their perspective, younglings. Twelve years olds if one were to be specific. One had spiky hair and one had normal dark brown hair, with the former was opening the door. What made it even weirder was the presence of someone that looked a lot like the clones, from the face and similar but was wearing regular clothing. And then there was a man with a brown pinstriped suit just right beside them.
"...Um, sorry about that," the Doctor made an apologetic, awkward expression and smiled. "We didn't really mean for the ship to crash land here, the ship must've...umm...malfunctioned and brought us all here, so, yeah... Oh, and before you asked, no, we aren't from the CIS. My name is Doctor Jonathan Smith of the Ministry of Science," the Doctor begins to show a badge that would show his credentials to the clones, verifying his claims. "And as of right now, we're just currently distant travellers who just got lost on this corner of the galaxy due to the ship malfunctioning its intended hyperdrive coordinates so it's quite troublesome really, and the man to my left is my bodyguard that was recommended to me by the Republic Intelligence. His name is Captain Caesar Imperius Rex of the Coruscant Guard. By current ranking and standing, he is to be your superior officer. And these two are my nephews from my sister-in-law. She thought about leaving these boys with me due to having an errand to run, and so, I brought them along in my work of making this experimental ship functional..."
The clone troopers of the base looked even more confused and looked at each other. They didn't know why, but something told them, for just one moment, that they could easily trust this man. And so they lowered their guard. The Doctor was slowly stepping out from the TARDIS with a confident expression, with Rex following behind.
"...So, if it's any bother to you lot, can I and my fellow companions stay here for umm..a day or so at least until I can get my repairs right and rain, and please don't report this to anyone else in the public chain of command as this experimental ship is pretty much classified, a little hush-hush, only the top brass knows of this, and one that I don't want the CIS to catch a whiff of if you catch my drift."
Once again, the clones couldn't help but comply with this strange man whose credentials appeared accurate and genuine. That and he apparently has kids on board so they didn't have much to worry about for now.
"I'm Sergeant O'Niner, the one in charge of this outpost," he raised his free right hand and saluted the Doctor. "Welcome to the Rishi Station, sir."
At this point, Touma Kamijou and Shinichi Kudo can only look at each other with concern, feeling within their gut that this is going to be a very long adventure.
