This is a fanfic about Puppeteer, a game on PS3 only and is quite unknown to most. I hope you enjoy it, even if you haven't played or heard of the game before!
It will be in the POV of my OC, Minsie Carver (yes, a pun name, but it's better than most in this game!) Anyways, with this out of the way, let's begin.
Chapter 1
It was quite a long week of work that I'd been through. I'd just graduated high school, I managed to net a part-time job as a deli worker at the local Walmart, and I'd applied for community college so I could save money on my tuition. And I'd just finished my first week of work and now I smelled like meats and cheeses as well as the bits of food that you could order as a snack/meal at the deli.
Needless to say, I was beat, and I decided to play a game on my PS3 to take the edge off, that being a game called Puppeteer. Sure, I'd already platinumed it, but I loved the feeling of nostalgia that came with video games. So, I turned it on after getting comfortable in my chair and proceeded to play it... but something felt off while I did so. I started to feel incredibly sleepy as the intro cinematic played... I tried to stay awake through it, wondering why I'd be sleepy while just watching the intro cinematic... but then, I felt my eyes fail me and I went to sleep.

When I woke up, I looked around and was in shock. Why? Because, right now, I wasn't in my room! And I was in the air! AND I WAS A SPIRIT! And I then started to freak out when I noticed a giant castle on the moon and me going towards it at a dangerous pace. "T-This can't be! I have to be dreaming! Come on, give me arms to pinch myself!" I shouted as I then managed to get my wish... and immediately wished I hadn't. Why? Because I was currently in a puppet body of my likeness and in the giant mitts of the Moon Bear King himself!
"Ahahaha! So, Minsie Carver! Do you want to be my friend?" he asked, me gulping at him... I did NOT want to lose my head, since I didn't know if I'd be able to survive... so, I decided to do something else.
"Little bears should be more kind to their guests, lest they get hungry," I said, the big bear looking at me in anger before I then did something I didn't know what the result would be, that being biting the thumb of the giant bear with my puppet teeth! And I made sure to do it like the Nutcracker would crack nuts, which was surely enough to make the giant bear release my body, letting me fall on the ground and proceed to bounce away from the fat bastard until I finally fell into a grate in the floor! I shrieked in fear at the length of the fall until, finally, I fell into the area that was the dungeon, me then feeling my head fall off and for me to gasp as I could still feel my thoughts and see things with both my head and my body!
"Over here, me! Warm, warmer, on fire, perfect!" I smirked as I led me to me with my own voice until I got my head back on my body. And just in time for a certain flying cat to appear.
"Oh dear, this is surrrely purrrplexing. You get kidnapped by the Moon Bear King, yet you keep your head? Do tell, what is your name, little lady?" asked the loveably cryptic Ying Yang as I looked at him in concern.
"Minsie Carver... can you tell me this is a dream so I can wake up now? I need to get to work in the morning," I said, which Ying Yang made a cat sound at.
"Reow?! You say you need to go to work? Why would the Moon Bear King choose an adult rather than a child?" he asked.
"Maybe because I turn 18 in only two days, so I'm still considered a kid?" I asked, him smirking at that. "Now please tell me I can wake up?" I asked.
"Unfortunately, not. You've been placed under the king's spell. He's trapped your spirit on this moon along with numerous other children, leaving your body in a coma from the world of the living," he said, me gulping at that... my body was in a coma? A magical one?
"I... Okay... so... how long do I have until my body dies?" I asked him.
"You needn't worry, for the spell also preserves the body, as much as the big bear hates it. But you'll need to defeat the king if you have any chance to get home," he said, me sighing as I then pinched myself on the arm... and was surprised that I could feel pain on my wooden skin and I could feel it as if it were skin, but everything else treated me like a wooden puppet.
"Fine, then I'll need to ask you to assist for the time being, is that okay?" I asked, him nodding.
"That's what I'm here for, little lady," he smirked.
"Says you. I'm almost 6 foot tall when in my real body!" I said, him whistling at that as we then moved forward and proceeded to get some Moonsparkles and get me two more heads in the form of the spider head and the skeleton head. He then led me to the start of the area with Esma Potts, that being the gigantic kitchen. I proceeded to jump and avoid the giant food disasters the whole way to the area where Esma Potts was, her looking at three other kids, me gawking at who they were. They were three people that were in my neighborhood, all of which were in comas and all three being related to each other!
"Tina, Boris, and Linda Bundler?!" I asked, the trio looking at me in shock and then at the hag witch Esma Potts, who looked at me with a smirk before then growling.
"DID I SAY TO STOP?! KEEP WORKING!" she shouted, the trio looking scared before I looked at her.
"How about I ASK THEM QUESTIONS, HAG WOMAN?!" I shouted at her, mainly because the three were all kids that were 10, 8, and 7 in order, all of them being related by getting adopted by their parents. And my words made Esma angry, but she shut up after. "What are you three doing here?"
"What are you doing here, miss neighbor Minsie?" asked Linda Bundler, the youngest of the trio and her being very polite and kind. She had blonde hair on her head that was long and curly, and she currently was dressed in a pink dress with green shoes.
"I got kidnapped just today. How long have you been here?" I asked.
"We don't even remember! First, we go to sleep at a sleepover, the next we wake up in the hands of a demonic bear monster and are given the task of feeding the jerk!" Boris growled in annoyance. His appearance was that of an army crew cut of brown hair and wearing camo, mainly because he learned his human forefathers were involved in the battle of Yorktown, which he loved to embrace at a young age.
"Ain't that the truth! Ugh, I need a bit of fresh air after all that smoked ham smell. Can you open the windows, Mister Ying Yang?" Tina asked as her frail body shivered, mainly because she was albino, meaning that it was harder for her when growing up because of her extreme sensitivity to sunlight and her lower immune system.
"Okay, I'll do so," Ying Yang smirked before then opening the windows with a smack of his tail to each one... and when he did, we saw the true form of beauty emerge, her looking like a real person to boot!
"WHERE IS THE MOON GODDESS! I command you to tell me what you've done to her! LET ME DOWN, YOU LITTLE GREMLINS!" shouted Pikarina as she was being carried off by the grubs and her efforts looked futile as they had her arms and legs tied up!
"Who was that?" Linda asked in confusion.
"I think that was the princess of the sun! You'd best be off to get Calibrus before something were to happen to her, new girl. NOW GET GOIN'!" Esma said in annoyance as she then provided a teleportation ring.
"Ooh, what fun, what makes this one so special, mreow?" Ying Yang smirked with some sass.
"Why don't you go with her then?" Esma growled as I simply went through the portal and Ying Yang followed, me finding myself at the bottom of the large spiral staircase and me then proceeding up the stairs while avoiding the different critters in the form of the rats, bats, and, eventually, the rolling barrels. After doing this the whole way without getting hit once, I found myself at the top and right next to the big door that led to the Moon Bear King's throne room. I then looked through the slightly-open door to see what was going on.
"Where have you taken the Moon Goddess?! I command you to let both her and me go!" Pikarina shouted in her loud nature as the Moon Bear King then used his magic to transform her! "NOOOOOOooooooo! ! !" Pikarina shouted as her voice actually shrunk and became higher pitched as she transformed, and her body was now in the hands of the giant bear! "Oh my gosh, are you kidding me?! You're going to be in big trouble now! My dad's gonna become a Supernova!"
The Moon Bear King looked like he was going to eat her, before the big cat spoke. "Wait, my lord! What if she's right? I've heard the sun has a nasty temper!" General Tiger said in fear.
"Pah! What could HE do? I have his daughter! But eating her would not be the smartest move as you said. I know the perfect room for you. Then all I need to do is tell your pops to pay up and I can rule the sun as well! AHAHAHAHA!" the fat ursine exclaimed as he and Tiger then left the throne room, and I then entered the room with Yinyang.
"Meow! What luck! The fatass bear NEVER leaves Calibrus unattended! What fortuitous fortunes!" Ying Yang smirked as I saw the giant scissors appear for me as I heard... a calming voice in my head.
"Wield me, young heroine of passion and wisdom... I choose you as my true bearer," the scissors said, me gawking as I went to them and touched the scissors, me gawking at how they were freed from their dark shackles and the scissors magically flew into my grasp and even shrunk to be my size!
"tata-tata-tun-tun!" I smirked widely before the whole place became filled with security measures, me then proceeding to go through the place by slicing through the dark gates with Calibrus one by one, finding it easier each time until I got to the end, where the Grizz's carpet monster then appeared with his face on it.
"YOU?! How did you get out?! Wait! HOW DID YOU GET IN?! GUARDS! GET IN THERE AND GET BACK MY SCISSORS!" the giant bear shouted as the grubs then appeared, me then slicing into their bodies one by one and then slashing their soul prisons, releasing the poor children that had been trapped inside each of them. And after 7 were dealt with? "Guards?! GUARDS?! UGH! Fine! I'll do it myself!" he shouted as he then summoned the Weaver, me then dodging the attacks he made before then capitalizing on slicing the fabric of the rug!
I did this thrice, jumping and ducking past the flaming sword until I finally got the souls to emerge, me jumping high and proceeding to slice each one in quick succession until every last child was freed and went back to the planet, netting me with the win and for me to get the power to escape through the window and down to Esma Potts.
"I just hope the Bundlers can get some needed protection... I worry for them the most," I admitted.
"Don't worry, the haggard witch cares for the trio just as well, mainly because it's the only family that have been sent here at once. She wants them kept together at all times," Ying Yang said, me sighing in relief at that, but knowing I had to be careful, especially when I saw the Moon Bear King arguing with General Tiger in a distant window while I floated through the towers to Esma Potts's kitchen. It was going to be a long adventure and I had to wake up while saving everyone that had been captured by the big bear and his general cronies.
