Chapter 8
We rushed after General Monkey for a good ten minutes, us hiding ourselves among the scenery as we finally started to enter the Snakkerbosk, where the trees coated us in darkness and the foliage becoming creepier with living candy appearing on the vines and tree limbs.
"Oogagh... I think I finally lost 'em!" Monkey said with a sigh as I shushed Pikarina, Rat, and the warriors in my head as we listened in from afar, watching as Monkey then called up the Moon Bear King.
"I'm trying to rub-a-dub-dub! Call back later!" the voice of the ursine shouted on Monkey's cell phone as he spoke.
"Minsie defeated Bull and Horse!" he said, which made the king shout on the other end.
"WHAT?! They defeated them of all people?!" the Moon Bear King shouted as Monkey spoke.
"But never fear, for I have a plan in place! I'm leading them to the Snakkerbosk and my plan will succeed. Especially since I've noted that the former warriors of the Goddess have partial control in her body. We all know that the ninja and the wrestler have a sweet tooth worse than the Moon Goddess," he chuckled, Moon Bear King chortling at that.
"Very well, and make sure to bring their Moonstone Shards to me! And bring me Minsie's head on a platter! As for the princess Pikarina, you may do with her as you please!" the ursine smirked widely.
"What about the Rat? Because he's also captured by them and traveling with the ladies," the monkey smirked.
"You're the mad scientist, do with him as you will," the bear growled before they then hung up and I looked at the duo with concern.
"Don't let him get his hands on me... I don't wanna be a lab rat! I've heard horror stories from my cousins," Little Rat said with concern as I nodded, seeing the monkey go further into the woods and I then heard Chikita speak.
"Look at all of this food!... Cake, pumpkins, donuts, oh my gosh, lolipops! Can I take control to eat them? ?Por favor?" Chikita asked as I spoke one word.
"No," I frowned.
"Why not?... I'm very hungry after that long run..." Smoke pouted after.
"Because those candies are created by Monkey and the Moon Bear King. They used to be people, but when they at Monkey's poisonous pumpkin treats, they became candy themselves. If we eat any of this stuff, it'll be Majin Buu all over again," I frowned, which Pikarina gasped at.
"No, no no! Not Majin Buu! That creep gives me nightmares at what he did to the heroes' families! Turning one of the moms into an egg and smashing it?! Do not eat this stuff, and that's an order from a princess!" Pikarina said with seriousness.
"Okay... b-but what about that thing about a trap? What kind of plan are they going to use on us?" the knight asked with concern and worry. And I couldn't blame him, the area around us was very spooky, even to me.
"They're probably going to trick us into eating a very delicious item. Most likely do a Hansel and Gretel situation on us. Make note, do not eat the food in this place. We have enough from what we got on the way here in the town," I said, Pikarina frowning at me.
"You mean the food we stole from the food stalls while chasing Monkey? I feel bad about that still," she frowned.
"I do too, but we were in a hurry, and we needed to chase him in order to see what he spoke to Bear about," I said.
"Yeah, yer right. Now let's go forward. Maybe we can beat Monkey in the process," Cut-Lass smirked as we then moved forward through the Snakkerbosk, attacking a bunch of glowing pumpkins to light the place up and un-curse them before we then finally reached the scarecrow, who was scared of the poisonous ghosts, and we gave him a light in the form of a jack-o-lantern, the ghosts escaping from the light.
"Whew, thanks, friends. I can handle crows, but ghosts are scarier than anything to me!" the scarecrow said.
"No worries, friend," I smiled... and then we heard the howls from the distance, which Pikarina was scared at.
"W-What was that? Are there wolves here?" Pikarina asked.
"Try dog! That was General Dog, the only thing that prevents anyone in Halloweeville from leaving or anyone going into the town," the scarecrow said with a frown.
"Sounds like we've got another one to save, huh?" I asked, Sheldon speaking after.
"I'm scared... but you're right... we need to rescue him from the Moonstone Shard..." he said with worry in his voice. And then I said one thing.
"To be honest, there is one thing that I'm concerned with... he's been converted into a robot. So how would I save him from that part?" I asked.
"Well, you have Calibrus and the powers of the Goddess, correcto? Maybe say 'normal little dog' and it might work," Chikita asked, me smirking at that.
"You know, not a bad idea, that's what we'll do!" I smirked as we then moved forward after bidding farewell to the scarecrow, which is when Pikarina asked an important question.
"So what the heck did Monkey do?" she asked.
"Plan goes like this. Make special pumpkin candy, feed the candy to the residents, turn them into candy monsters and any who don't get turned into monsters are turned into different candy foliage, like cake, lolipops, and donuts," I said, that making Sheldon gulp in my head.
"That sounds even scarier than the ghosts around this place..." he said with a shiver as we then heard the howl of General Dog. And it was closer to us now.
"Ooogh, I got the willy nillies! I'm not too good with dogs... never trusted a-one of 'em," Cut-Lass said in concern as I eased her nerves.
"Don't worry, if what I know about the generals' personalities holds true, Dog should be unruly to the point he has been leashed," I smirked as we finally got to the area where the dog was at, me looking over to him and seeing he was... in pain?
"Ow-ow-ow... It-hurts... Can-you-help-me,-please?" he asked, me looking at him in surprise. Why was he in pain? It was because of something that was on him, that being a whole lot of purple spikes that was from the pumpkins and the cursed items from the Moon Bear King!
"What have they done to him?! Hurting their own friend like this?! Let's go in and save him!" Sheldon finally said with some bravery in his voice as he was about to take control before I held him back by hooking Calibrus into the ground.
"Whoa, whoa! Hold your horses, Sheldon!" I shouted, him then retreating back in the mind after. "I'm glad you're feeling courageous for a change, but this is feels like a trap. A trap from Monkey. I bet you anything that if those spikes are removed from his body, something bad is going to happen. So we need to play smart here," I said, Pikarina smirking after.
"Then I'll handle it! Sorry, doggie, this may sting a little!" Pikarina said as she then started to do something ingenious. Send some fiery hands from afar to grab the purple spikes and then pull them out one by one as General Dog then licked the wounds after and I saw that, as expected, the purple spikes were all booby traps, each one having some gas leak out that I saw was purple with hints of pink! And when it touched the foliage, they expanded and looked to be filling with fat! And Dog noticed and avoided them before then landing his head right next to me and cooing in relief.
"I-thank-you... take-shard... change-me-back," he said, me nodding as I went to his head and pulled out the fake brain before then getitng the bone-shaped Moonstoen Shard without hurting his true brain. I then, shortly after doing this, said the words.
"Normal little dog," I said, him then woofing and barking as he shrunk down to the size of a doberman puppy, no metal parts at all!
"Normal? Normal?! Yes! Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Thank you, master!" he said afterwards as he licked me all over my face and I giggled at him.
"Okay, okay, easy, Poochy, let's get you back home so you can play," I smirked before warping him away and I heard the voice of a certain simian nearby.
"DRATS! And so close, too! Very well, plan B it is!" he said in the shadows... and shortly after, I gasped as I smelled something that... intoxicated me!
"Oh... oh god... that smell... it... it..." I said in a daze... it was almost like I were being entranced as I went automatically forward... but then, when I saw the 'gingerbread house', I then tried to fight it immediately. It looked not like the house in the game, but it looked like a freaking SCP! Which one of the countless monsters? A factory that made living ink plates with moving pictures... and they were created by lulling humans with a special scent into a deep hole that was inescapable!
"NO! Don't fall for it! Someone else, take control! I can't risk it!" I shouted, me then getting Sheldon in charge as he then took charge and I saw that he was MUCH better. Why?
"You're lucky I don't have a nose. Now time to destroy this place... what is so bad about it?" Sheldon asked as he proceeded to use Smoke's bombs on the candy house and I then saw the hole. And it had a bunch of syringes in it that looked more like syringes to squeeze jelly than for blood.
"Get that hole blown up above all else! It's a danger to everyone on this planet!" I shouted as Pikarina then held her nose shut as well as Rat doing the same. He then proceeded to throw at least ten bombs into the hole... and after, the bombs made the whole place blow up in extreme fashion and I could hear a blood-curdling scream happen shortly after!
"EEEEEEEKKKKKK! !" shrieked a voice that... I recognized? I then gawked as all the different pictures that were on the ground returned back to normal! And then I saw the result of the voice was another monster that climbed out of the hole! It was... oh god.
"Samara..." I gulped as the Ring girl then rose out of the rubble before then warping directly in front of me... she then removed her hair from her face and spoke.
"Thank you... for saving me..." she said... almost like an extremely shy girl? "That stupid ape... he turned me into your worst fear... SCPs... and in the form of the gingerbread house..." she said as I then saw Monkey jump into the distance and that he had something in his grasp. It was something I was shocked that he had. It was another of the monsters, this one being another ghost girl!
"HELP ME!" shouted the voice of ERMA! As in, Erma from the web comics! The one who was basically a cute and innocent child that was a reference to the Ring!
"Erma! You have to help her! Please save my daughter! The simian's going to do horrible things to her unless we stop him!" Samara shouted in fear.
"But how do we do that? And where is he taking her?!" Pikarina asked in surprise.
"You need to get the key to the castle! There are only two I know of who might have it. Sus-... er... Nebula... or Mayor Headless... both can be found in Halloweeville. Go, find them, and fast!" Samara said with concern as I then nodded, and we rushed down the road to the area... but I now definitely had to ask some questions to her... good thing she was... following us?
"Hey, your name is Samara, right?!" I asked, her speaking after.
"Sam, just call me Sam. And don't say a word about that horrible story you've heard, all kinds of horror monsters live in Halloweeville and we are all nice!" she said with seriousness.
"Was that house supposed to be nice?! Because I'm terrified of SCPs!" I said in seriousness.
"That's why Monkey created it! And all the other spooky SCPs that aren't objects are or have been here, and each are nice and only scare on Halloween night!" she said with seriousness.
"Okay, I'll take your word on it!" I said... it was hard to imagine that my biggest fear was living in the world of dreams on the Moon in Halloweeville... but it was not the weirdest thing that I've seen on this planet. It was hard to top seeing a realistic version of Generals Horse, Pig, and Sheep.
