The arena was empty outside of Jaune, who was familiarizing himself with Raihari. It danced in the air as his body moved, giving in full to unfamiliar movements. He had been doing this for the last few hours since breakfast. His muscles screamed as he shot across the arena with a flurry of stabs, pincushioning an imaginary opponent. Pain shot through him as he collapsed, his legs no longer able to hold him. With a growl he stabbed Raihari into the ground and used it to push himself to his feet.

A water bottle found its way into his vision, looking up he saw the leader of Ren's team. He took the bottle and chugged it before standing fully. "Thanks, I needed that."

"So it seems," She tilted her head. "I was surprised to find anyone else here. Most other students are in Vale on the weekends."

"Yea… I just wanted to get some extra practice in. I'm Jaune by the way, your… Pyrrha, right?"

"That is correct. It's a pleasure to meet you Jaune."

"Nice to meet you too. You said it's usually empty on weekends, that mean you normally spend them here?"

Pyrrha nodded. "Usually, though I do take a break every now and then. That's a nice rapier, I thought you used a broadsword however?"

"Yea Raihari is new." Jaune held said blade in the air. "Was just getting used to using it. What about you, always use a spear or trying something new yourself?"

Pyrrha raised an eyebrow. "I'm afraid I've always used Milo. Most huntsmen and huntresses tend to keep the same weapons they trained with growing up."

"Haha… Yea that makes sense," Jaune rubbed the back of his neck, "To be honest even Tentsubasa is rather new to me."

"Really? You seem quite familiar with it in combat class." Pyrrha narrowed her eyes. "In fact you seem to be rather familiar with your rapier as well."

"Ah, well… Just comes naturally to me I guess." Jaune glanced to the side and rubbed his neck.

"It's good to see that even with that you still strive to learn more, most would simply coast on such gifts."

Jaune frowned. "That's dumb. There are things out there that can kill even professional huntsmen. Thinking that will just get people that rely on them killed!"

"I'm sorry. I hadn't meant that to upset you."

"No, it's fine. I just remembered something Pyrrha, that's not your fault." Jaune sighed.

They stopped at the locker room and Pyrrha turned to Jaune. "Would you like to join me for lunch? My team-mate Weiss will be there as well, she uses a rapier as well and could give you some tips."

"She's the one with white hair right?" Jaune asked. "Sure, some tips could help."

Entering the locker room they went to their respective lockers and Jaune set Raihari inside before dismissing it. Even after the time he'd spent at Beacon he wasn't used to sharing a locker room with girls. According to Yang out in the wild you don't get the luxury of privacy. It made sense, he guessed, at least there were some private rooms for those not used to the idea. Stepping into the shower room he did his best to fight the urge to look at his new friend, though hormones eventually won out and he glanced out to the side and took in the toned shape of her back before rushing the rest of the way in. He didn't know how someone like Ruby could share a locker room so easily, perhaps it was coming from a huntsman family?

The water was certainly refreshing and Jaune felt all his aches and pains soothe as the warmth seeped in. He started humming when one of the showers near him turned on. He kept his eyes shut while running the water through his hair. "Jaune, I have wanted to ask, is your gauntlet uncomfortable?"

"Not really, can't even tell it's there sometimes." Jaune looked over before immediately looking away. "Ah, sorry."

Pyrrha giggled. "It's quite alright, I'm surprised you're nervous though. We do share a combat class after all."

"Ah, well I'm usually too tired to think much after class, even then I'd still be respectful. Though I'll admit it takes some getting used to."

"Really? In Mistral we have bathhouses so I was rather used to it already."

"That makes sense." Jaune rubbed the back of his neck. "I mean the only people I've ever bathed with are my family. So this was all new to me."

He turned the shower off and started drying himself. "Well I'll be outside, see you in a minute."

"Alright Jaune." Pyrrha turned back to the shower as Jaune went and changed into a t-shirt and jeans. Shortly after Pyrrha came out in a red turtleneck and pants. They then walked to the cafeteria. Once they entered Pyrrha waved to Weiss, who was already seated at a table. They grabbed lunch and sat with her.

"Hello Pyrrha, how was training?" Weiss asked before looking at Jaune. "And you brought someone with you. Arc, right?"

"It was quite fulfilling. Perhaps you would like to come as well next time." Pyrrha motioned to Jaune. "I ran into Jaune afterward as he was finishing his own training."

"I have a rapier I recently acquired I was getting used to," Jaune added, "You use a rapier as well right."

Weiss inclined her head. "That is correct, may I ask your interest in learning to use a rapier? Last I saw you had a broadsword that was perfectly serviceable."

"I still have Tentsubasa, there is just reason for me to keep Raihari as well. It's a bit quicker and able to hit between armor a bit better as well." Jaune explained.

"That makes sense I suppose, next weekend then?"

"That would be grand!" Pyrrha exclaimed. "What about you, Jaune?"

"Yea next weekend will work out fine." Jaune added. He wondered if perhaps some team training could be done as well. If his team insisted on going with him again against the genma and they faced someone as strong as Laertes, someone might actually die.

"Jaune?" Pyrrha looked at him as he was pulled from his thoughts. "Is everything alright?"

Jaune rubbed the back of his neck. "Yea, sorry, was just thinking about something. What's going on?"

"Pyrrha was talking about the trip to Forever Fall coming up." Weiss crossed her arms.

"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to ignore you Pyrrha."

Pyrrha shook her head. "It's quite alright. What is troubling you, if I may ask?"

"Just concerns with training." Jaune stated.

"Jaune, you were training all morning." Pyrrha frowned before looking up behind him. Jaune turned to see his team walking over with their food. Yang at the head with Ruby and Blake following behind.

"Hey Jaune, where have you been all morning?" Yang asked after sitting down to his right, Blake sitting next to her and Ruby sitting on Jaune's other side. Yang looked at Pyrrha and weiss. "Your making some big friends here buddy. Names Yang, that's my partner Blake and the cookie muncher is Ruby."

"Yang!" Ruby whined before taking a bite of her cookie. "I'm not a little kid!"

"Yes, I'm quite familiar with you." Weiss stated. "I hope you've not caused any more explosions."

"It wasn't my fault! You were shaking dust right in my face!." Ruby countered.

"I'm sorry, who knocked over-"

"Here we go again." Yang cut in.

"Excuse me!" Weiss exclaimed

Jaune put a hand on Yang's shoulder. "Yang, I get you all got off on the wrong foot. It's already weeks since initiation. Weiss has been nice enough to agree to help me with Raihari, could you give her a second chance please?"

Yang stared at Jaune before huffing. "Fine, but she better stop hating on my lil' sis."

"I wasn't the one who blew us up!" Weiss grit out.

Jaune patted both sister's shoulders before they could say anything. "Like I said, it's been some weeks since then Weiss. Ruby's one of the top fighters in class and even is catching up with the course work, can you give her another chance as well?"

Weiss narrowed her eyes and looked over to Ruby, who drew back a little and gave a small wave. "I suppose I can do so."

Jaune beamed. "Thank you both."

"No problem VB, now where were you this morning. Ruby was all worried something happened."

"Yang! I wasn't that worried…" Ruby pouted.

"You covered the entire room in rose petals from pacing." Blake added, causing Ruby to whimper.

"Sorry for making you worry." Jaune rubbed the back of his head. "I was training this morning, and yesterday was pretty rough so I didn't want to wake you guys up."

"What happened yesterday?" Pyrrha asked.

"We were training a bit too hard." Yang answered as she pulled Jaune into a headlock, squishing him against her. "Which means you should have been resting too."

"Ah, Yang! Let go!." Jaune struggled and worked to free himself as his face lit up..

"I know, let's go to Vale! I know a pretty good club," Yang cheered. "It'd be good to go out and cut loose."

Jaune winced and slid his head out from under Yang's arm. "Maybe not a club Yang, I don't think many of us would actually enjoy that. Though having a bit of fun does sound good. How about an arcade? My sisters would talk about them all the time when they would come home from trips to Vale."

"That sounds like a great idea!" Ruby chimed in, hopping up and down in her seat.

"It would be nice to be out of the academy for a bit." Blake added. "Maybe we could stop at a bookstore at some point as well."

Yang leaned back a bit. "Yea, okay. An arcade doesn't sound like a bad idea either. What about you two? Wanna come along?"

"That would be grand!" Pyrrha beamed.

Weiss looked to Pyrrha before huffing. "I suppose I can go as well."

They all finished eating and started toward the docks. Jaune heard Ruby and Pyrrha talking about weapons with Weiss giving her opinion every now and then and Yang was poking fun at Blake about something. He wondered what Ren and Nora were up to. Perhaps with Their teammates getting along with him and his team Ren would be more willing to work out their own differences. They got into the bullhead and Jaune looked around. Pyrrha and Ruby seemed to have hit it off, Ruby was in the middle of motioning wildly while explaining something to a smiling Pyrrha and Weiss, who looked like whatever Ruby was telling her surprised her at least. Yang and Blake sat across from them and Yang was showing Blake something on her scroll. Jaune sat in a far corner of the bullhead and closed his eyes, feeling his stomach lurch as the machine took to the air.

Jaune did everything he could to fight the queasy feeling rising in his gut. Breathing in and out he tried to will it away, only for another wave of nausea to hit him. He nearly jumped out of his skin when someone touched his shoulder and inched his eye open to see Pyrrha sitting next to him with concern etched on her face. "Jaune are you alright?"

"Just feeling a little queasy," Jaune strained out. "Flying and I don't mix apparently."

Yang got up and walked over to Jaune before pulling a pack of gum out. "Here, according to the cnet chewing gum helps with motion sickness."

Jaune took a piece and started chewing. It wasn't immediate, but the sickly feeling started to fade. He nodded to Yang. "Thanks."

"No problem, just sit tight VB."

"Ugh…" Jaune hung his head. "How long are you going to keep calling me that."

Yang smirked. "Xiao long as I like boss man."

"Joy…" Jaune closed his eyes and focused on chewing his gum. Once the bullhead landed they took off toward the arcade. The group entered and separated, Jaune found himself at the skeeball machines with Ruby. She showed him how to roll the ball to get the most points.

"Come on Jaune!" Yang grabbed his arm and dragged him to a dance machine. "Let's see you bust a move!"

Jaune got in the machine with her and Yang started the song. Jaune missed a couple before picking up on the game and Yang missed none.

"Hah, walk in the Arc!" Yang Jumped with a fist pump.

Jaune looked around and eyed the air hockey table. "Hey Yang, how bout a bet."

Yang eyed Jaune. "What you wagering?"

"I win you no longer get to call me vomit boy, or any variation of it."

"Alright," Yang nods, "And if I win…I get one favor I can use at a latter date!"

Jaune narrowed his eyes. "...Deal."

They both went to the hockey table. The game started and they grabbed the mallets. Jaune started and sent the puck to Yang. Who knocked it back to Jaune, who managed to send it flying against the side. Yang struck it and sent it into Jaune's goal. Jaune set the puck down and served the puck to Yang. Yang slammed against the puck, which bounced against the side into Jaune's goal.

Jaune huffed and sent the puck to Yang once more, aiming instead to send the puck at awkward angles to get Yang to slip up. He managed to get it right past her and into her goal. Yang served once again and after knocking the puck back and forth Jaune got it past Yang again. Yang then won twice in a row, with Jaune getting the last point. Yang cheered at winning overall. Jaune sighed and shook his head at losing by one point.

"I can't wait to cash that favor in. You were Xiao close though Jaune, maybe next time." Yang winked and went off toward Blake and Pyrrha, who were shooting targets.

Jaune noticed Weiss had joined Ruby at skee ball and they seemed to be getting on, Ruby was giving Weiss from the looks of it. Jaune walked over to them and noticed the pile of tickets Ruby had accumulated. Weiss rolled her ball into the thirty hole and Ruby cheered for her. They played a few rounds, with Ruby amassing a large pile of tickets and He and Weiss had got a decent amount themselves. Once they had enough they joined the others at the counter. Jaune got several small plush animals. He knew that girls liked getting plushies thanks to his sisters and there were all sorts of different colors. He got a pure white squirrel for Weiss, a brown fox for Pyrrha, a red wolf for Ruby, a yellow bear for Yang, and a black cat for Blake.

Jaune turned to see Ruby with an armful of sweets and Weiss holding a rolled up poster. It looked like Yang, Blake, and Pyrrha hadn't played any games that gave tickets, as they didn't have anything with them. Jaune handed each girl their animal.

"What's this for?" Blake asked with narrowed eyes.

"Oh, my sisters always talked about wanting to get stuffed animals at arcades. I figured it'd be something to remember us going out for the first time as well." He turned back to leave and heard a scuffle, before looking back and seeing a ruffled Weiss, Blake, and Yang. After a moment they all left and stopped at a bookstore that Blake had seen on the way. Blake immediately disappeared and came back a moment later with several new books.

They then went to a diner that Yang knew of in the area. After finding a table and ordering Jaune looked at everyone. "I'd say today was pretty fun."

"Yea, P-Money over here has moves!" Yang added. "And don't get me started on Blakey, We definitely have to go to the club sometime."

"I don't think clubs and I would mix." Blake replied. "This was fun though, I'd be willing to do it again."

"Oh, we should make it a thing!" Ruby exclaimed.

Pyrrha smiled. "That sounds like a grand idea, Ruby."

"I wouldn't… be opposed." Weiss stated. "Today was more fun than I was expecting, thank you for inviting Pyrrha and I."

"Jeez Weissy, you can loosen up a bit. No need to be Weiss cold." Yang laughed before Ruby started swatting her. "Ow okay, Ruby!"

"No bad Yang, no puns." Ruby turned to Weiss. "I'm so sorry about her."

Weiss' lip twitched. "It's fine Ruby, spending time with you was… informative. I wouldn't be against talking with you again later, especially in regards to using dust rounds for Crescent Rose was it?"

"Yep! That's my baby alright."

Once they finished their food they made for the bullhead to head back to Beacon. Jaune smiled at the friendly chatter of his teammates and new friends. Once they got back to Beacon they went to their respective dorms and got ready to sleep.

AN:

First and foremost, I almost had a panic attack as I accidently pressed the power button instead of backspace when finishing this… That was fun. Also, I'd like to apologize for the late chapter, not only was I poorly managing time, I've discovered I am no longer allowed on youtube shorts. I go there for one minute and suddenly four hours have passed.

Now like I said before I'm mainly sticking with Jaune for this, so a bunch of stuff happened that he simply doesn't know about. Also Weiss is a bit nicer cause I feel being on a team with Nora would cause things to be sorted out on some level, and Pyrrha was here for all this. If it was just Weiss I believe that the interactions would have gone much differently. Also Jaune is smart but not social, remember he's been bedridden for a good chunk of his life so some things might not click with him.
