Chapter 9
It didn't take too long for our group to reach Halloweeville, especially with the literal momma bear that was Samara leading us by having us teleport with her sporadically, which was very freaky, especially for me and Sheldon.
"Can I ask a question? How are you Erma's mother when you come from different franchises?" I asked Samara, her giving me a look and me gulping at her creepy face.
"Not the time, I'll only answer that question when we rescue her! We need to find Nebula and the Mayor!" she said, us then finally entering the town... and immediately getting stopped by the giant pumpkin monster, which made Samara scared... wow. Let that sink in. Samara, the antagonist of The Ring that killed anyone who viewed her video tape... scared!
"Eeek! What has happened to Nebula?! You need to free her from whatever that simian has done to her!" she shouted in fear as I then proceeded to look at Pikarina and she looked at me in concern.
"What's that look for?" she asked me.
"I need you to fly me over there and get me to slice off the head," I said, her gawking at that.
"Okay, that sounds like a smart move!" she smirked as she then picked me up and flew me towards the giant pumpkin, getting me away from its arms and giant mouth before throwing me to its neck, me then slicing off the thin parts with Calibrus, which caused the giant boss to completely fall apart and for Nebula to fall to the ground and emerge from the center of the pumpkin head in her depressed state.
"Ooh my head... why did you have to do it like that?" she asked in annoyance as I smiled at her.
"Well, it worked, didn't it? And besides, we're on a rescue mission here. We need the key to the castle to rescue Samara's kid from that stupid monkey," I spoke, her head then extending and spooking Pikarina as I remained undeterred.
"I wish I could assist, but I am not the one who has the key... I am Nebula Oblongata, a prisoner to this town of creeps, who longs to go back to the cosmos that I belong... but alas, I am cursed to stay... and be called names I do not wish to be called," she said in annoyance. And then I decided to try and see if I could sense lies with the powers of the Moon Goddess and Calibrus... and I could see in her head that she thought she was truthful, but she was incorrect and was always a member of Halloweeville... and she used to be a real person on earth called Lizzie Borden. Yeah, that Lizzie Borden!
"I feel bad for you, Nebula, I really do, but I can tell just by what I've seen in your mind that you aren't really what you say... or does the name Lizzie Borden mean nothing to you?" I asked, that making Nebula gasp as her head retracted and she looked to Pikarina, then to Samara, and back to me.
"I... I know of that name... but I don't recall much... what do you know of it?" she asked as I spoke the creepy rhyme.
"Lizzie Borden took an axe
And gave her mother 40 whacks.
And when she saw what she had done.
She gave her father 41," I said, her gawking at that.
"Oh god... I... I remember now... I was sent to this town because of my monstrous crimes... and given false memories when I came here... my whole life has been a lie!" she shouted as I looked at her with seriousness.
"Well... I know you feel that way, but now's the time to buck up and get serious," I said, her looking at me in concern as tears rolled down her cheeks. "That monkey that turned you and numerous people into pumpkins and candy now has Erma held captive at his lab. I have no doubt he's going to try and turn her into a monstrous machine of war to kill me and help the Moon Bear King rule the moon. We need your help to get the key to the lab so we can stop him," I said, her nodding.
"Okay... if it shall help to attone for my monstrous sins, I shall assist you! We must head to the cathedral in the middle of the graveyard. That is where the mayor's head is held captive by the Weavers," she said with seriousness, me only then realizing that we hadn't fought the Weaver in the Wild Wastes! So that meant there were two, which was definitely a worthy challenge! We then followed her as I created a few magical gateways to get us closer to the Cathedral bit by bit until we arrived, where the church bells rang and summone a slew of bats that turned into one Weaver, followed by the cowboy Weaver from the Wild Waste appearing shortly after.
"Hey! Tag-teaming is unfair!" Cut-Lass shouted from my mind.
"Time to eliminate the opposition..." Smoke spoke for a change.
"How do we go after the Grim Reaper? He looks intangible!" Chikita asked as Nebula forced the hourglass in his hand to turn over and the clouds parted, revealing the sun reflecting off the planet.
"Wow! Daddy's helping us! Quick, find a way to hurt the Grim Reaper! I'll go after the one with the guns with Samara," Pikarina said as Sheldon then activated the shield and aimed it at the Grim Weaver (HAH!) and managed to make it weakened to the point that it opened its cloak in pain, me then rushing and slashing across its carpeted body until it fell to the ground in the light of the Earth, revealing all of its souls, which Calibrus and I proceeded to slice apart so that the kids would be freed! And by the time I finished this one up, Samara and Pikarina had defeated and freed the souls from the cowboy Weaver, only then causing the head of the mayor to fly off the rooftop and down to the top of the Headless Horseman.
"Hey! Is that the mayor?!" Pikarina asked.
"Yes, it was! Let's go after him!" Samara smirked as we then warped next to him as he was back in the center of Halloweeville.
"Ah! You are the ones who freed my head, aren't you? I thank you for doing that... and rescuing my lovely Su-" he was about to say before I finished for him.
"Lizzie," I said, him looking at me in confusion.
"What?... Lizzie... Why does that name feel right somehow?" he asked, him looking to think on that a bit.
"It was my original name back on Earth... before my crimes cursed me to be a monster in this town," Nebula said with a sigh.
"That's how it was for all of us. We were created through the crimes and sins of the humans on Earth, taking the form of those sins manifest," the mayor said as another person came out, me being surprised at how it was the statue SCP.
"We're wasting time! We need to go to the castle in the distance to stop that monkey!" the statue said while moving, which made me know it wasn't dangerous.
"Charge! For my daughter!" Samara shouted as the whole town got pitchforks, axes, and torches as the mayor got to the castle gates and opened the secret entrance, all of us going forward as opposed to just me and Pikarina in the game. And with all of us together, we smashed through the front doors and went inside of the lab, attacking all the different robotic machinations within and completely trashing the place bit by bit until we got to the top of the castle, where it was very dark and the monkey appeared on the television screen.
"Okay, you stupid monkey! Release Erma and we promise you'll get to stay alive!" I snarled at him.
"Ooghooghoo! But she is right next to you, little lady!" he said, me then hearing the sounds of a machine activating, me looking to my left to see a giant machine that had Erma at the center and her in a comatose state!
"Scare... kill... scare... kill..." she said, obviously mind-controlled by the machine as I saw a banana-shaped stone of gold in the machine's upper center that dangled her. He had her mind controlled with his own Moonstone shard!
"What has he done to my darling?!" Samara asked in shock and fear as the machine then hummed harder and it then proceeded to do something different than in the game. What did it do? It proceeded to create a monster that it knew I was absolutely terrified of. A monster that prevented me from platinuming a game because of how scared I was of it!
"EEEK! White Face!" I shouted as I then tried to attack the pixelated face with my bomb head, but it just fazed right through it!
"Heehe...heehe..." it chuckled creepily before Samara then glitched right next to it and grabbed onto it, me gasping as her touching it proceeded to delete part of her hand!
"SHIT! We need to destroy the machine!" Sheldon shouted as he then took control and rushed towards the machine with me not in control!
"H-Hey! What was the rule I made?!" I asked him as he spoke.
"I will not allow this monster to hurt this innocent little girl!" he shouted back at me as he took Calibrus, extended it, and hardened it into diamonds! He then slashed it against the top of the machine, cleaving it in half and causing White Face to immediately vanish from existence!
"Error... Initia-" Erma was about to say before Sheldon then grabbed the Moonstone Shard and pulled the ghost girl out of the machine, which disconnected her from it completely as the machine then powered down completely!
"Erma! Are you okay, love?!" Samara asked like a momma bear as she waved her hand in front of Erma's face and she wavered her eyes open as I gained the monkey's shard in my grasp.
"Mommy... I thought... I'd never see you again..." Erma cried as the monkey then appeared and I looked at him with seriousness.
"Okay, you ape! Time to pay for your crimes. Little-" I was about to say before he then shouted over me.
"Oh no you don't! Ooghoohoo!" he shouted before he tried to escape out the window, but I grabbed him on the tail with Chikita in charge and she proceeded to slam him into the ground and spoke.
"As el Jefe spoke, Little Monkey," she said... and Monkey then turned into his little self, me then smirking at that... until something different happened than normal.
"I'm outta here!" he shouted before then rushing out the window and jumping for it, me shouting at that.
"H-HEY! He's still evil?! We need to go after him!" I shouted in anger as Samara then spoke.
"Before you leave, me and Erma are mother and daughter because we used to be a mother and daughter who ruined the lives of innocent people, and we became Samara and Erma for that reason," she said, me nodding at finally getting an explanation, even if minor. I then jumped out the window with Pikarina flying after, Rat still in my pocket, and a new ally following after in Nebula! We ran after Monkey until he had gotten into the outskirts of Halloweeville and next to a giant hedge before he got called by the Moon Bear King.
"AUGH! Monkey! How could you fail me, of all of my generals?! Give me one good reason that I shouldn't end you right now!" the giant ursine growled in anger as the monkey then sang like a tea kettle.
"I've learned that Minsie has foresight! She knows of everything ahead of time! Because she's seen the events of this adventure in a video game!" he said, me gasping at that, though making sure it was inaudible... he KNEW?! He knew that?! And who told him?!
"Really? And how did you happen to know that?" the Moon Bear asked in annoyance.
"I have my own spy, ooghoogh! He said exactly that to me while she was sleeping!" Monkey said, me then looking at my shirt pocket and I saw that Rat was sweating profusely. He then looked like he was about to scream before I covered his mouth with my finger and prevented him from moving.
"Once a rat, always a rat," I frowned angrily at a super soft volume. He was going to be paying now, and he knew it.
"Then it looks like we're going to have to do something she doesn't expect. I'm going to have the last laugh and she won't be any bit the wiser!" the Moon Bear King said with seriousness as my group stayed hidden in the foliage.
"W-What are you going to do, my liege?" Monkey asked.
"The Clock Tower in the Land of Time! We need it to get fixed and I now know how to do so the most effective way I can! Quickly, effectively, and making sure that no-good puppet stays locked in the sands of time forever!" he said as I growled angrily as he then got on the horn with Rooster and Rabbit, but only after he cut connection with Monkey, giving me plenty of time to rush forward and slam the simian into the ground, him being shocked and wheezing at the air leaving his system.
"Okay, monkey! You and rat have some SERIOUS GALL to try and help out that tyrant after turning back to your normal selves! So you better tell me why I should offer you ANY mercy, since you plan to sell the souls of all the world's children to that maniac!" I shouted, Monkey and Rat then gulping as Rat then tried to lie.
"I-It wasn't my fault! Monkey tried to strongarm me into an alliance against y-" he tried to lie before I formed a fist in front of him.
"Tell the truth, little man! If you haven't noticed, you and Monkey are now smaller than me and Pikarina, so you need to be sharing the truth now, or I'm not going to be happy and you are going to be in a world of pain!" I said, Nebula then approaching as well.
"O-Okay okay, I'll talk I'll talk! The Moon Bear King said he wants to rule the entire planet of Earth so that he can have more friends!" Monkey shouted in fear as I then formed a fist in his face. "N-No, I'm telling the truth! He stole the Black Moonstone because he was lonely! Me and Rat helped him to do so, and he shared that power with us! He wants to have friends, but the Black Moonstone is corrupting everything it touches, him the most! You must believe us! If he succeeds in the Land of Time, then all the children on the planet will be placed into comas and their souls used for his appetite and his army of grubs!" Monkey shouted.
"No, not just children! He plans to do it to all the adults and elderly too! Please believe us!" Rat said with fear as I then looked at Nebula and she proceeded to use her arms to good effect, extending both to act as handcuffs to cuff Rat and Monkey to her arm.
"You are now prisoners of war, and we expect you to cough up all of your communicators now, got it?" I growled, them nodding as Pikarina then shook them loose and we saw that they had tracking devices, microphones, the works. And that they were only active if the Moon Bear King contacted them specifically.
"We trusted you, Rat. We really did. To learn you were double-crossing us this whole time is really nasty," I snarled at him angrily, causing him to recoil in fear. "And you, Monkey! Creating a monstrous machine that deleted Samara's hand and using a little girl as the power source! How can you sleep at night knowing you're just as much of a monster as the residents of Halloweeville?" I asked, him gulping at that.
"I know that it was meant to be an insult to Monkey, but I take a bit of offense to that," Nebula frowned at me.
"Sorry, Lizzie," I said, her smiling at me.
"I will only allow you and Princess Pikarina to call me Lizzie, my savior... but now we need to rush to the Land of Time! We need to stop Rabbit and Rooster and we need to do it fast!" she said with seriousness.
"Magical Gateway time! Take us to the location of General Rabbit!" I smirked, Calibrus forming the gate for us and us then going into it... now we had to go to the level that was one of my least favorites, even if it were a cool idea. But after learning that the kids and even adults of the planet were going to be in danger, I knew we had to succeed and stop the Moon Bear King's plans!
