To Lyger 0: Lucie – "At the full moon I can lose control to my basest instincts." Greta – "Can we keep it?"

Looking around the apartment, Lucie's eyes widened in awe. After the Knight and Valkyrie had agreed to help her – after Valkyrie had offered her a place to stay – the Knight had picked her up under her armpits, and all three of them had flown quickly across the city, skirting around the large university campus near the middle of the city while sticking close to the rooftops. As quiet as a breath, the three had approached an apartment building and landed on one of the top-level balconies, where the Knight had removed his helmet, given Valkyrie a quick kiss, and whispered something that Lucie only barely caught.

"We'll talk more tomorrow," the Knight had told Lucie, his severe look carrying a slightly threatening undertone. Finally, the Knight had replaced his helmet, ascended quickly into the sky, and disappeared toward the north. After staring in the direction he had gone with an affectionate smile until he was out of sight, Valkyrie had slid the balcony door open before leading the way inside.

"Sorry it's kind of small," Valkyrie apologized, pulling off her mask and grimacing, glancing back at Lucie. She ran her fingers through her long blonde hair and tossed her head to one side, sighing. "We were looking for something we could afford that would be close to campus and preferably have a top-floor balcony; this was the only option."

Lucie shook her head. "No; this is… actually really nice. Considering that I've spent the last week sleeping in a forest, and the week before that sleeping in fields and ditches, this is amazing." She shook her head and winced, looking down at her ragged clothing and sticking out her tongue in disgust. "Sorry if I smell like…"

"Wet dog?" Valkyrie supplied, arching an eyebrow in amusement.

Lucie chuckled. "Yeah."

"No worries." Valkyrie nodded down the hallway. "If you want to wash, you're welcome to it. The first door on the right is the bathroom, and there are extra towels in the closet. You can use anything you want in the shower. I'll grab some of my clothing for you to wear for tonight – it definitely won't fit right, but it will be better than nothing. We'll figure out something for you tomorrow."

Lucie started, staring at Valkyrie in shock. "I – thank you. When… well, when you found out what I am, I was worried you wouldn't want to help me at all. But this–this is so much more than I ever expected."

Valkyrie flushed, looking away. "I'm sorry; I didn't mean to react that way. You're not a monster – even if you can transform into a wolf. And you haven't given us any reason to be afraid of you, not really. You're someone in need, and we're the 'Heroes of Berlin', right? That means we need to help you."

Looking down at the floor, Lucie swallowed. "You say I'm not a monster, but I feel like I am. I can control myself now, but in a couple weeks…" Her shoulders sagged. "People have always viewed us as monsters. My people – or at least, people like me – worked for the Nazis."

Valkyrie quirked an eyebrow at her. "If I wasn't going to have anything to do with people whose ancestors were or worked with the Nazis, I couldn't exactly work with Dietrich, could I? His grandfather was a member of the Nazi party, appeared in all their publicity films, fought on his behalf on every front of the war… He did more for Hitler than almost anyone. And he hated every minute of it."

Lucie cocked her head to one side. "His… grandfather? Not him?"

"Not him; Dietrich is the same age I am!" Valkyrie giggled, before giving Lucie a surprised look. "Did you think he was…?"

She shrugged. "I… yes?" She chuckled ruefully. "I suppose I should have realized he wasn't the same guy."

Valkyrie gave her a kind smile. "No worries; Dietrich's family has hidden a lot about themselves to keep their secret safe." She raised an eyebrow. "I assume that's something you're familiar with!"

Lucie hummed, nodding. "Well, thank you for understanding. And for agreeing to help me." She let out a breath and sniffed, wrinkling her nose. "I… should take a shower."

Thirty minutes later, Lucie finally stepped out of the steaming shower to find a blouse and capris sitting on the bathroom counter, along with undergarments. Dressing quickly, she discarded the bra out of hand and tried to adjust the top to fit, though it was still far too loose for her frame. The capris didn't quite reach as far down as she should have, and they rode down a little lower on her hips. But these would do for tonight. Glancing at herself in the mirror, she ran the hairbrush on the counter through her hair a few times before finally opening the door and wandering down the hallway to find Valkyrie, already changed into pajamas and sitting on the couch while talking on the phone.

"Okay – thanks for the info," Valkyrie said into the phone, glancing up at Lucie. "She just got out; I'll send you the measurements in a little while. Yeah… We'll let you know." Hanging up, she gave Lucie a quick look up and down before frowning. "Sorry I don't have anything that can fit you better," she apologized. "You're a little taller than I am…"

Lucie shrugged. "I don't mind. This is worlds better than what I had."

Valkyrie hummed. "Well, I think we might be able to help you avoid shredding your clothes in the future," she answered, holding out a tape measure. "I just got off the phone with Ladybug. If I can take your measurements tonight, she will send over a care package of clothes in the morning that will actually fit you properly. By the end of the week, she promised to have something you can wear under regular clothes that won't tear when you transform."

Lucie's eyes widened. "That – wow! That's amazing!"

Giving her a relieved smile, Valkyrie got up from the couch and extended the tape. "May I?" Lucie nodded and held her arms out, holding still while Valkyrie moved around her, humming as she took measurements and typed them into her phone. "I hope I'm doing this right," she muttered to herself.

"Oh?"

Valkyrie grimaced. "I haven't actually done this before – at least not for someone other than myself," she explained. "And normally it doesn't need to be so precise. But Ladybug said that for your suit to work properly, the measurements will need to be absolutely exact."

"Does she just want these measurements?" asked Lucie, as Valkyrie bent over to measure her inseam. "Or would she also need the wolf's numbers?"

"She said this would be enough for now," answered Valkyrie. "But she did say something about how Pegasus might want to study your transformation – um… if you're okay with that." She gave Lucie a nervous look. "I can tell them no, of course – if you're not comfortable with it."

Lucie frowned, looking away from Valkyrie. "I… don't know," she admitted. "I'm not some freak or attraction or specimen to be studied…"

"I know," Valkyrie quickly assured her. "You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. It's entirely up to you if you do this – Ladybug said she would help you with clothes regardless, and Dietrich and I already agreed to help you with your other problem, no matter what."

Lucie's stomach started to unclench, and she let out a breath, trying to force herself to relax. "Thanks." She frowned. "You talk a lot about Dietrich."

Looking away, Valkyrie blushed. "We've only been dating a few months – since February. But I've been in love with him, almost as long as I can remember. And in another few months, we'll be married!"

Lucie hummed. "Well, congratulations?"

"Thanks." Straightening up, Valkyrie let out a breath and glanced down at her phone. "I think I have everything I need," she announced, stifling a yawn. "I have class at 9 in the morning, so I really need to get to sleep. I'd offer you the second bedroom, but we don't have a bed in there. Are you okay with the couch?"

"Absolutely." Lucie nodded. "After the last few weeks, something with cushions sounds amazing!"

"Okay, then there are blankets on the couch, along with a couple extra pillows. If you need anything else, just knock on my bedroom door."

"That sounds good."

Valkyrie let out a breath. "Well, good night."

"Good night," Lucie answered, flopping down on the couch. Valkyrie started to leave, but Lucie called, "And, um, Valkyrie?" The other girl paused expectantly. "Thanks."

Valkyrie smiled. "You're welcome. And it's Greta."
