CHAPTER 4

UNSC AURORA

Captain Claire remains in the UNSC Aurora for the last two hours. She is both amazed and worried at the same time. She was amazed that the ship was true to its size, a battle-purpose fleet capable of carrying multiple frigates and the MAC. The Magnetic Accelerator Cannon, although primitive, it is capable to deliver quite a punch to an enemy. She might think that such a weapon can be useful against the Borg, one that the Borg needs a lot of time to adapt against a kinetic weapon. But the same can't be true about the purpose and how far the UNSC is willing to go to face such an existential threat by using an extreme measure that even the federation will think it as a mad Idea.

Genetic Engineering, Treatment against the outer colonies, etc put her with a frowned idea. It is against the Federation Law to undergo Genetic Engineering. That is what happens during the Eugenics war, nevertheless, she understands the circumstances that caused UNSC to resort to such action. Fighting against a war of extinction is pretty much required for any and all action to survive at all costs.

"Although Captain, such action is frowned and also a mad idea, I understand what your facing. Even I will ask Starfleet Command to reconsider its..." Suddenly Captain Claire was cut off by a communication from USS Queen Victoria.

"Captain Claire, I am sorry to interrupt. We've got a word from Odosa II in the Sovol Sector. They say they are under attack from unknown ship." Lieutenant Commander Vorik inform Captain Claire. "Sovol Sector, that is the outer most sector in the Federation. Are we the only one that is the closest?" Captain Claire asks Vorik if there is other ship. "Negative Captain, the closest ship besides us is USS Quebec, they currently in Demil System at the Teneebia Sector."

USS Queen Victoria is already at the edge between Sovol Sector and Ponor Sector. Making them the closest ship to reach Odosa II. "Roger that Lieutenant Commander, I'm on my way back, Claire out. Well Captain Kaloha, I am sorry but I need to return to my ship. Looks like one of our colony is under attack."

"Do you know who's the responsible?" Captain Kaloha asks Captain Claire in curiosity. "No Idea, according to the Colony and the Queen Victoria Long Range Sensor, it was unidentified ship." Captain Claire inform him what she knew for a while. Captain Kaloha think for a moment and decided to come along with him. "Captain, allow me to join with you. It is better if two face one rather than one face one. To ensure swift victory."

Captain Claire thinks for a while, "I don't know your weapons and defensive capabilities. And Frankly I still have no idea who you are. But if you want to earn trust right now, I think it's the time." Captain Claire was hesitated but nonetheless accept the offer. "Very well, lets begin the Journey." Says Captain. With UNSC on her side, she hopes the job will be smooth. "Alright then, Claire to Queen Victoria. Three to beam out. And don't worry Vorik, I'll be back with the shuttle." And suddenly they disappear, back to the USS Queen Victoria. Everybody in the UNSC Aurora Bridge was impressed with the technology.

USS Queen Victoria

"Report" Captain Claire back to the bridge.

"Captain, the Odosa II. We lost the Distress signal." Lieutenant Commander Vorik tells the Captain about the Bad News. "Really? That mean they are in big trouble. Contact the UNSC Aurora now."

"Channel Open Captain!" Ensign Thomas open the communication.

"I Hope you ready to Jump Captain, looks like the enemy throw the big gun first. I'll send you the coordinate now!" Captain Claire send the coordinate to Captain Kaloha.

"Do you get the coordinate kid?" Captain Kaloha asks to helm.

"We do captain. Preparing the Trans-light now!" Helm confirmed the coordinates.

"Good, Captain Claire. We got the coordinate. We wait for your signal to go."

"Excellent. We go now Captain Kaloha. Just follow our path. Victoria Out. Helm set a course. Odosa II, Maximum Warp."

"Coordinate set, we good to go Captain"

"Good. Punch it!" Captain orders the helm to immediately jump to Odosa II at Maximum Warp. And soon enough, it was followed by the UNSC Aurora. Captain Kaloha knows that his Trans-light engine is too fast, so he decides to lower the ship matching with Queen Victoria's speed. Within 12 minutes both ships arrive at Odosa II. The ship that attack the planet was gone. But there was something more...

"Captain, according to the sensor reading, this planet is effectively dead. No inhabitants whatsoever." Ensign Park informs the captain about what happened.

"What? Are they all dead? How many in the colony?"

"There are two million lives at that colony, now it is disappeared for good. The Majority of the Planet's Surface has also been destroyed, it's like burning. Turning into a glass." Ensign Park Inform the Captain.

"On screen now!"

Captain Claire looks at the devastation on the planet, suggesting a Planet-wide bombardment. They were late to prevent the destruction of the colony. Suddenly UNSC Aurora opens a communication with the USS Queen Victoria.

"Captain Claire, I hope you alright on that ship. It appears this planet was glassed by the Covenant." Captain Kaloha sadly informed that it was the Covenant who did this. How did they get into the universe is unknown.

"The Covenant? The Empire that makes war of extinction against you? I thought you people at peace" Captain Claire asks in a bit high tone.

"More like an Armistice Captain. We know that the war with them will happen again, we just don't expect it will be now. I expect that the the Covenant ruled by Jiralhanae is find a way through this universe although I'm not sure how."

"Captain, incoming distress signal from Ariosa II. It appears they are under attack as well" Vorik inform the captain of another attack.

"That's it, set a course now. Maximum Warp. I am sorry Captain but I have to cut off for a while. Time is essence now. Victoria out."

Captain Kaloha understand the frustration. He continues to follow the Queen Victoria. Within five minutes they arrive just in time.

"Captain, we arrive at Ariosa II. Looks like three ships, frigate size if I am not wrong" Ensign Thomas inform about the covenant ship.

"Wrong or not, they'll pay a price for destroying the colony. RED ALERT, put weapons online. I want all power to the forward shield!"

"Aye Captain!"

"Incoming fire from the Covenant!" Vorik warn about Plasma Torpedo Attack.

Immediately the Plamsa Torpedo hit the Queen Victoria.

"Forward shields down to 87% captain!" Vorik informs the Captain.

"Evasive Pattern Beta Four! Target their weapons system!" Captain Claire orders the helm to evade and target the Covenant ships

"Phaser ready!" Vorik said. "Fire at will!"

Suddenly Queen Victoria fire Phasers full broadside to several covenant ships. Their shields still holding but put a ton of damage to them.

Meanwhile

"Geez look at that firepower!" Orsa look at the USS Queen Victoria Phaser fire.

"Captain, according to scanner, three out of five covenant ships shields are holding but have a lot of damages!" Helm inform the Captain.

"Alright, lets take a roll boys. Bring out the frigates and wipe them out. I want all weapons come online now and target those ships!"

"Archer and Rapier is online!" Commander Suratoh informs the captains

"Alright, fire at will!"

UNSC fire multiple anti-ship missiles heading to the damaged covenant ship and destroy them. Several also hit the other two but still holding.

Back to USS Queen Victoria

"Looks like old fashioned weapons still have some effectiveness. Alright send a message to Aurora, don't destroy the remaining vessels. I want some answers from them."

"Aye Captain, sending message now!" Ensign Park send a message to UNSC Aurora.

"Alright, let's take the other two. Vorik, target their engines and weapons system now!" Captain Claire gives order to aim

"Aye Captain…targeting their…FORWARD SHIELDS DOWN TO 20%!" Vorik try to aim their weapons and their engines but the other two covenant ships fire Queen Victoria. Causing a massive lost of shield.

"Divert Auxilary Power to the forward shields now!"

"Captain, one of them is behind us. They are about to fire!" Ensign Park Warn the Captain.

"Thomas, engage mauevers COBRA-1!" Commander Stampson takes the initiatives. "Sir, that is one of a hell manuevers! I don't guarantee it will be a success especially with this ship of this size!" Thomas says this with a lot of sceptics

"Thomas! You can do it! Remember your training! I train you a lot for doing this. Do now or they blown our nacelles to pieces! Commander Stampson encourage Thomas to do it, while Captain Claire looking at him and hoping this thing will work.

"I hope you realize what you doing Commander."

"I do" Commander gives assurance to captain that It will work.

"Alright Everybody hang on! RCS Thrusters full power! Dorsal setting! Impulse engine, set to dorsal position and reverse engine on my mark.. NOW!"

Immediately the ship initiates an extreme manuever against the covenant ship that is behind her. A sudden loss of forward speed and the ship RCS Thruster set the forward side of the ship tilting above. The Ship RCS and Impulse engine immediately fire to initiate a reverse thrust while the ship tilting above. This caused the covenant ship pass through them, and the Queen Victoria RCS Ship active again, stabilize the ship and putting the ship at normal tilting while simultaneously impulse engine set to full catching the ship.

"Alright Thomas, catch them. Vorik target their engines and weapons array!" Captain Claire orders to target the Covenant ship. "Phasers ready!" Vorik tells the captain. "FIRE AT WILL!" Queen Victoria unleash its Phaser array into the Covenant ship and disabled it. After that, Queen Victoria chase another ship.

"Now I realize it, it's a 20th and 21st century combat planes manuever. Only an experience pilot can do that." Captain Claire gives a comment about the successful manuever that Commander Stampson set.
