Skara walked through the middle Bonesborough feeling excited. She was finally gonna do it. She had finally worked up the courage to try speed dating. Lately Skara had begun to feel very alone. After Grom the boy who had asked her out began to ghost her and instead talk to Viney. "Can't say that I blame him though I would rather have a hot girlfriend over a plain one like me anyday." She said quietly to herself as she walked. Her short train of thought was cut off when she reached her destination, A small tea shop at the end of the road. Skara approached the big wooden door and used the code she had been taught. She knocked 2 times followed by a light tap on the door. She was then led inside the shop by a short boy wearing a mask. This is what had attracted her to this place: its discreteness and secrecy. She was then led into an adjoining room with a small table with a candle in the center of it along with two cups full of warm tea on each side. Skara took her seat and was assured by the masked boy that her date would be escorted inside momentarily. As she waited she lightly tapped her hands against the top of her pants, clicking her tongue as she waited. A nervous habit she had developed from years of always worrying about others opinions. As she waited a young girl came in and sat across from her. Skara nervously looked up from her lap to see who was sitting across from her and was surprised to see Boscha. Their eyes met and a short but heavy silence was shared between them Skara stared at her while Boscha gazed back uncharacteristically having all three of her eyes focused on Skara. She blushed from the intensity of Boscha's gaze and said in a nervous, shaky voice, "It's strange seeing someone as cool as you in a place like this." Boscha laughed in an arrogant way saying, "Please I'm only here as a joke to see who's pathetic enough to take this stuff seriously. I could care less about dating any of these losers though." "Well maybe you should at least try to care about others". Skara practically shouted, she paused in shock of what she had just said. Boscha as well looked surprised at little Skara yelling at someone let alone her. After the pause Skara continued, "If maybe you just let the facade you wear as a mask slip a little, people would actually see you as a person and not for the huge jerk you pretend to be." Boscha stared at Skara, all of her eyes fully focused on the girl in front of her. She looked almost fearful when she said, "How… how could you possibly know that i'm acting?" "I just know," Sakura replied "I can tell there's a good person under there. You just hide it because you're scared." There was an uneasy silence in the air as Skara's face grew red and she closed her eyes in fear, across from her Boscha looked stunned and tried to find words to express what she was feeling. After a silence that felt like an eternity Boscha finally spoke, " Well maybe if I found the right person I could drop my guard, it's just I have an image to keep up and I don't want to ruin it by showing the real me to the wrong person." Skara looked up at Boscha and could see tears welling up in her eyes. Almost instinctively she reached out and hugged Boscha. "You don't have to be alone. I know what it's like to wear a mask, to hide your feelings, but maybe we can change…. together." Skara delivered the last word of that sentence quietly to herself Boscha looked up as the tears in her eyes began to fade away and she hugged Skara back, they pressed their foreheads against each other and let out a sigh of relief. "Okay fine if you'll put up with me then I guess we can try this out," Boscha said this as she pulled away and looked at Skara and smiled. At that moment the door to the room opened and the masked boy walked in saying, "Okay lovebirds your time is up." He paused seeing the two girls embracing each other. " Hey this isn't that kind of place, get a room if you plan on doing that stuff". The boy said, visibly embarrassed as his mask slipped off in his hurry to exit the room. "Wait, was that Gus?" Boscha said irritatedly, "I'm gonna kill him." "Calm down, how about we go for a walk instead?" Skara said with a radiant smile. As they joined hands they walked out of the store ready for their new relationship to officially begin.
