Start of Something New

Part one of the World's collide series

Crossover-animal crossing

Author Notes: Well ladies and gents I am alive, and ready to celebrate Octwober. And that means we're diving into one of my favorite games from this year. Add in some franchises I also love dearly and we have a crazy time.

Please keep in mind that the author notes of all the current cult of a lamb one shots will probably follow have the same stuff in them with one or two differences based on the franchise that it will be working with.

So let's kick things off with a series that though I don't obsess over compared to other stuff, is still fun. It was also one of the first ideas that popped into me and Sen's mind when I first started playing so-essentially this started it all. I do not own animal crossing or cult of a lamb.

3rd P.O.V

It was eerily silent as night came swiftly onto the quiet little town of Necrid and Tom Nook was tired. After slaving away all day with a series of customers nearly buying him out of supplies(holiday season be damned) he felt a little annoyed as he swept through all of the snowy muck that trekked through his floor.

Faintly he heard the sound of the local train rushing away, but he shrugged his shoulders, paying it no further mind. Though travelers often stopped by, they never really stayed long. Necrid was a quaint little town in the middle of nowhere.

Tom Nook's shop was the only real business around and though the few locals that were here were also those in the trade business, all of them were small fry compared to some of the cities a few hours away. Only those who already had family here, or really had nowhere to go actually stayed.

While the tanuki was lost in his thoughts, grumbling from all smears, he heard the sound of his door chime. "Hm?" He glanced up, surprised to find a new face smiling sheepishly at him. "Er-welcome! Sorry but i'm afraid i'm closed for the night. I was going to leave once I finished cleaning."

The newcomer was a lamb who wore a worn and torn blue cape with a heart clasp keeping it together. A black hat at the top of their head. Though the furry visitor smiled, not a word left their lips as they looked around.

"Um, is there anything I can help you with?" Tom Nook wasn't too sure how to react to them, but the businessbeast in him screamed to be polite. As they walked around, their eyes glanced all over, before stumbling towards the front counter.

Grabbing his old notepad and pen that laid about on the counter, they wrote a message. 'Hello! I am Lambi and I just arrived. Do you know who would be in charge of residence here?' Tom Nook read the note out loud, blinking in surprise when he finished.

He shifted his gaze to between them and the paper. "Nice to meet you Lambi, the names Tom Nook and uh...we don't really have anyone that is in charge of that kind of thing." At that the little cloaked animal wilted.

Their eyes downcast as disappointment forced their next question. 'Does that mean there is no available housing? I have nowhere else I can go.' At that the businessbeast expression softened, understanding.

"If it's a home you're looking for, I happen to have some property available." Their head shot up immediately, their black, innocent eyes full of hope. 'Truly?' Tom Nook smiled as he put down his broom.

He grabbed his coat and hat. "You betcha. I had some relatives that moved just a few weeks ago, so no one lives there. Let's take a walk." Together they made their way outside as a harsh gust blew by.

The tanuki shivered, his expression soured at the freshly made snow that covered the ground. Before shifting over to Lambi, his eyes blinking again. "How aren't you freezing." They had no shoes, and their only protection against the elements was a little raggedy cape.

Yet his response was a smile and shrug. Leaving him feeling exhausted as they trudged down towards the south of town. It only took them a few minutes, but it felt like an eternity to Tom Nook as the temperatures just kept dropping.

"Here we are. I actually got four homes for rent. Tomorrow we can talk about payment plans and what you could do here, but for now I'll let you pick a place for the night. All of the homes are furnished and I just washed all the blankets my relatives left behind."

Lambi's eyes twinkled as they ran to each home. A shiver passed by the shop owner as he watched the overzealous mammal go from home to home, their smile growing bigger with each passing moment.

Eventually they made their decision. They pointed to the house that belonged to Tom Nook's younger cousin. He had gone through a bit of an emo phase when he was living here, and it showed as the home was painted black and white with various dancing gyroids plopped in a circle.

"You're sure you want that one? Once you get settled and we discuss the fees you can do whatever you want with it, but uh, I was expecting you to pick a different house." He seriously thought they were going to pick his old niece's house across from his cousins'.

Sure it was a little more on the feminine side with the pink roof and flowers in full bloom in front of it but it looked softer, cuter, something that matched this new face. Lambi tilted their head as they lifted up the notepad(Tom Nook didn't even realize they took it with them.)

The new message was 'Is there something wrong with it?' At that he shook his head. "No, no. All of them are fine. I would not have offered them up if there was any sort of issue, but uh...it doesn't seem to really match you."

Lambi could only shrug, writing again. 'I like it. It reminds me of home.' As strange as that sounded Tom Nook rolled with it. "Alright, if that's what you want, then it's yours. Come visit my shop tomorrow morning so we can talk. Have a good night Lambi." The little mammal hugged him tight.

The notepad scribbled with several thank yous before they disappeared into the house. Sighing, the tired store owner walked alone back to his own home. Unaware of crimson eyes, a glowing crown and a malicious grin.

The end

Author Notes: Welcome to Necrid a lovely little town just waiting for a cult to happen. Lambi is going to have a bloody fun time. And...surprise surprise Sen is wanting more-despite me already going above and beyond to get this damn thing done.

Also for those wondering, yes, I am making Lambi a mute character. Personally I just feel like Lambi doesn't like talking unless addressing cult members so that's just a me thing that's going to be canon as far as this series is concerned.

Another thing is though this is part of a series of one shots, the only thing they have in common is the fact that the stories are a crossover involving cult of a lamb. They have no relevance to each other and can be read on their own, which is why they're going to be considered their own pieces.

Is that everything? I think that's everything. Anyone with questions feel free to pm. But that is it for now. Guys thank you so much for reading this story. If you like it please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean a crap ton to us to see people liking our work. See you next time. Tchao for now.
