Rex gets extremely sick during the rebellion. Ahsoka comes to sit with him during it and uses her little knowledge of force healing to help him but he goes into a fog and starts asking for brothers who are long gone. He first asks for Kix because that's the only person he's ever trusted with his health and wellbeing. Then he asks for Cody because he wanted his older brother. Then he asks for somebody who just so happened to still be alive.

"Commander..."

"I'm not your commander, Rex. Haven't been for a long time."

"Commander...where are my Dominos? I haven't seen or heard from them in a while. They could be out destroying something, you need to check on them to make sure they're ok"

"I can do that"

Ahsoka knows that Echo is alive but he doesn't know that she's alive or that Rex is sick. She gets Hera to call Omega to, hopefully, get the last Domino on the cruiser. They managed to get him aboard the next day after agreeing to meet halfway.

An elder Echo and Clone Force 99 are rushed over to Rex's room where Ahsoka, Wolffe, and Gregor were sitting. He sticks in the doorway, staring while the rest of the batch go to greet the sick man.

He's never seen his captain sick before and he is terrified. Rex is the last person he has from his old life. Rex is the person who has pulled him out of dumpster fire after dumpster fire and yet Echo is scared to even face him in his time of need.

Finally, Echo walks over and sits down in the chair that Ahsoka had cleared for him

"There you are! I was beginning to wonder when you would show up" the Captain visibly brightened although exhausted and clearly high off of whatever medication they had him on.

"I will always make an appearance for you, my captain" Echo responded.

"We'll give you two some privacy." Ahsoka says as she gets up and ushers everyone else outside of the room. The door closes with a faint whoosh.

Rex started to look around him confused and looked towards the door as if waiting for someone else to appear.

"What's wrong?" Echo questioned.

"Where's Fives?" Rex looks back at him innocently. "You two are always together...and no offense but it's a little weird seeing one of you without the other. You look incomplete." Rex told him.

"Yeah...I agree, '' Echo admitted. He has always thought it but it is strange hearing it out of his older brother's mouth. "He's on an important mission at the moment. He didn't tell me much about it but he'll be away for a while. I don't know when we'll see him again."

"oh, ok" the other accepted the lie. Rex reaches out and grabs his hand and pulls him towards the bed. Even sick , he's still stronger than Echo.

"What are you doing, Rex?" Echo inquired.

"Come on, get in here" the captain mumbled.

"I'm not getting in the bed with you. You're built like a brick shit house, we won't both fit" Echo argues.

"Did I ask about all that mess? No, get in!" The captain pulled harder until Echo was half way on top of him.

"You know what? Fine." Echo goes half deadweight on top of his brother.

"You fucker, going deadweight on a sick man, how dare. Get oooooffffff" Rex whined now pushing at him.

"You pulled me here dumbass, this is on you." Rex starts coughing and Echo gets off immediately and grabs one of the waters that was near the bed, undoing the cap and holding it out for Rex to drink. "I'm ok, im ok" Rex mumbles reassuringly after he takes a sip.

"Are you sure you want me-"

"Did I stutter? Get in here" Rex lifts the edge of his blanket. Echo slides in and Rex pulls him to rest under the elders chin. "Aren't we too old for this?" Echo asks quietly. "Never." Rex says, pulling him even closer.

Later on, Ahsoka goes into the room to check on them and sees both sleeping peacefully. She smiles, how they managed to both fit on that small of a bed she will never understand. But knowing them, they would find room for anyone else who wanted to join. She shuts the lights off and leaves the room knowing Rex will be fine.
