The Search for Johnny Cage
Chapter 1: Sonya Blade
One day since the attack on the Hall of Justice. General Sonya Blade is speaking with Nightwolf telepathically.
Sonya: So let me get this straight... You've been ducking my calls for months because your god told you that the world is ending, your in Seattle right now with a handful of people that SHOULD be searching for Johnny, AND Raiden is somehow involved in all of this?
Nightwolf: Yes, I have been trying to figure out how to avert the coming danger. However the terrorist group that attacked you all last night has a presence in Washington state.
Sonya: Do you know if Johnny is actually there?
Nightwolf: Not for certain, whenever I try to locate him with the aid of the Great Spirit it's almost like he is not on Earth.
Sonya: So you expect me to come in guns blazing on the possibility Johnny is there?
Nightwolf: Yes, I do.
Sonya sighs and in the background another explosion happens with someone in the background saying "WERE UNDER ATTACK!" and Nightwolf sees Shin-Tan soldiers storming their way into SF HQ. The telepathic link fades away and Sonya enters the fray and quickly grabs an AR from the gun rack. Sonya quickly runs up beside her daughter and Jacqui to fight off the Shin-Tan who are trying to seize there way in.
Cassie: These are the clowns that attacked us last night! What do you think they want?
Sonya: Let's find out!
The three of them begin to press forward and fight their way into the garage of the facility, the three of them get behind an APC that Kung Jin is already using for cover and begin to even in the odds. Three of them all duck behind the APC and speak.
Jacqui: Where is Takeda?
Kung Jin: He went to call for help! This place is crawling with Shin-Tan goons so I hope he found a quiet spot to make that call!
Sonya: What about Cyrax?
Kung Jin: He went with P-Body and Atlas to secure the terminal that's holding GLaDOS and Director Connor is fighting off goons with some old guy with an accent, I think it's his body guard!
Kung Jin then peaks up from cover and starts shooting explosive arrows and then ducks back down.
Sonya: Alright then we hold our ground until back up comes. Alarms have gone off, hopefully they've been heard by the right people but in the mean we need to secure the garage!
Sonya get's up and using her gauntlet blasts a group of Shin-Tan soldiers back sending them flying in every direction. She runs out from cover into the danger and her group of young soldiers follows. Kung Jin uses a grapple arrow to zip upward to the ceiling to jump down on his enemies, while Cassie slides across the hood of the APC, and Jacqui goes around the trunk of the vehicle to flank their enemies. Kung Jin crashes into a soldier and notices a contingent of rather large and armed robots walking into the garage. He exchanges looks with Sonya, she goes to radio Cyrax.
Sonya: Cyrax, this is General Blade. You're needed in Garage MK92 how copy?
Cyrax doesn't respond and a look of worry grows across Sonya's face.
Sonya: Cyrax! We need you up here now! How copy?!
The robots begin to look onto to General Blade and her soldiers, but as one of the robots scans her a magic katana blade glowing blue flies through the air and cuts the robot down. Both the robots and our heroes look to see Kenshi Takahashi standing beside his son Takeda both of whom are standing on a railing to the left of them.
Takeda: Calvary's here boys and girls!
Kenshi then puts his hand out and his katana comes back to him, the two jump down and jump into the fray. Meanwhile on the other side of the base in the war room the time displaced Blazkowicz girls are trying their best to hold off the Shin-Tan foot soldiers while their friend Abby uses SF computers to try and call for back up. The Terror Twins are overwhelmed
Jess: Is this how we go out?!
Zophia: What would Arthur and Kenneth do?!
The two girls nod at each other, the helmets from their power suits activate and right as the two of them are about to charge into the group of soldiers the soldiers are suddenly frozen and encased by a block ice, the Terror Twins deactivate their helmets to see Grand Master Kuai Lang AKA Sub Zero standing beside a small group of Lin Kuei ninjas.
Sub Zero: You must be the new recruits General Blade spoke of.
Jess: I'm sorry, who are you?
Sub Zero: That's not important right now young one. What's important is securing this base, come we have much work to do!
Across the base Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu ninja assist the Special Forces in repelling the enemy forces trying to take control of the base. In the upper levels Director John Connor fights off the invading enemy with help of his body guard who is secretly a reprogrammed T-800. While John takes cover from behind a table, the T-800 is making light work of the soldier, he throws one into a wall while and grabs another by the throat and then slams him into the ground.
Terminator: Who sent you?
Instead of answering, the Shin-Tan assassin grabs a knife from his belt and slashes T-800's face cutting into eye. This cut revels a part of the robotic interior as well as one of it's red eyes. The T-800 looks unfazed but before it can react a spear with a chain is launched into the back of the assassin and a voice then yells "GET OVER HERE!". The Shin-Tan soldier is then pulled violently back words into a wall and standing over the now unconscious enemy soldier is Grand Master Hanzo Hasashi AKA Scorpion of the Shirai Ryu. The Terminator then grabs a pair of sunglasses from his leather jacket's pocket to disguise who he is. John Connor walks up to the Grand Master and is thankful for the help.
John Connor: Thank you Grand Master Hasashi, how did you know to come here?
Hanzo: My apprentice Takeda reached out with his telepathic abilities to my clan as well as the White Lotus and The Lin Kuei. We came as quickly as we could.
John Connor: You came just in time, let's move!
Director Connor walks off with his assault rifle ready to go but the T-800 and Hanzo stare at each other tensely for a brief moment.
Terminator: We must go Grand Master Hasashi.
The T-800 grabs a shotgun from the ground and walks off, Hanzo looks on in anger and concern but follows behind the Terminator and Director John Connor. Back in the garage Sonya is unloading her mag while Kenshi sends out waves out of energy from his Katana.
Sonya: Where are are the others?
Kenshi: Liu Kang and Kung Lao are in New York City that electric monster that attacked you all at the Hall of Justice resurfaced in Times Square, Kitana and Jade are still in Outworld assisting Kotal in finding Mileena's rebellion, Masters Shujinko and Bo Rai Cho are on very important business for Raiden.
Sonya: Who came with you?!
Sonya then quickly throws an enemy soldier to the ground that charges her and promptly stomps on the soldiers face.
Kenshi: Hanzo and Kuai Lang is all you need to have a good time! You should know that by now!
Kenshi then cuts a bullet in half that would killed a lesser swordsman. Blasts of ice and a robe spear can be seen coming from both behind launching into their enemies. The group turns around to see Sub Zero, Director John Connor, The Terminator, Grandmaster Hanzo Hasashi, and the Terror Twins. Takeda has a big grin come across his face.
Takeda: Now it's a party!
The group all charge into the group of remaining hostiles and they make short work of them. Eventually SF regains control over their base and our group of heroes meet in the war room with Cyrax and the two liberated Aperture robots P-Body and Atlas as well as Abby Walker. The group sits all sits down with the exception of the two cyborgs and the two robots.
John Connor: General Blade, these were the terrorists that attacked the Hall and kidnapped Johnny last night correct?
Sonya: Yes sir, I'm not sure why they are here or how they know this place exists.
Abby: I might be able to help with that, I've been doing research and looking for Johnny. There was a hack that affected multiple government agencies but mainly one called "GI Joe", they found out General Blade met with a "General Hawk" and a "Duke" a couple months back at this base.
Sonya: Have we been able to trace the hack yet?
Cyrax: I've actually been in communication with GI Joe operative "Breaker". The code this group used is tough even for the two of us. But we did determine who the culprit of all this is attacked Johnny at his agent's house and abducted him last night.
Cyrax begins to project holograms on the table of The Shin-Tan soldiers and their leader Mr. Ming.
Cyrax: The Shin-Tan are a terrorist organization no different from Hydra or the League of Assassins. Their leader is known as Mr. Ming AKA the Yellow Shadow. Much like Von Strucker Ming wants complete domination of the planet and much like the Demon's Head it has been speculated that he has reincarnated throughout the centuries.
John Connor: What else do we know?
Cyrax: Only that it his main adversary a French spy Robert Morane is currently off the grid. Morane and many of his known associates have files that have encryptions that it would take me a few days.
Sonya: Take all the time you need Cyrax, any word from New York?
Cyrax begins to project a news broad cast from April O'Neil as Liu Kang and Kung Lao stand beside various heroes such as Captain America, Black Lightning, Superman, Rintrah, and even the older Ghostbusters.
April O'Neil: Although it took several hours, the monster known as the Avogadro has been captured with the combined help from members of the superhero community and New York legends the Ghostbusters. For more on this and the whereabouts of Johnny Cage I am April O'Neil with Channel 5 News.
Cassie: Why would they take dad I don't understand...
John Connor: Cassie, your father is one of the most valuable assets the United States government to date and on top of that he's one of the biggest celebrities working in Hollywood. I think the question we should be asking is why did they do it so publicly?
Sonya: That's easy, it's the same reason why governments do public executions... to let people know who has the power. Think about some of the most powerful people on not just this planet but other planets were at the Hall of Justice Last night and they chose to kidnap Mr. Cage. It was a power move and we're going to fire back. We have a potential lead, although I am skeptical... Nightwolf called before the attack.
The group looks of heroes looks stunned with the exception of the Terror Twins and Abby Walker who obviously don't know who Nightwolf is.
Zophia: Who's Nightwolf?
Cyrax then begins to project a hologram of Nightwolf on the table and Sonya begins to explain who Nightwolf is.
Sonya: Nightwolf is a shaman of the Matoka tribe. The title is passed down by their god to a new warrior once a generation. Our Nightwolf is Grey Cloud a powerful mystic with a righteous sense of morality. A few months ago he went AWOL, hasn't returned calls or been seen since.
Cassie: We even had to take his pet wolf and adopt it.
Sonya: Thanks for that useful tid-bid of information Commander.
Cassie looks down at the table embarrassed and Sonya has a look of scorn on her face but continues to relay the information to the Terror Twins and Abby.
Sonya: He reached out telepathically right before the attack said he and a group he was with had a lead on Johnny's whereabouts.
Cassie: Where?
Sonya: The abandoned Curdun Cay station in the Pacific Northwest.
Cassie: Well then what the hell are we sitting around here for let's go!
Sonya: Negative, we wait for Nightwolf to confirm Mr. Cage's whereabouts and then extract.
Cassie: You just said we have a lead we need to go there now!
Sonya: We will go when he have a concrete lead from someone who hasn't gone AWOL soldier! That's an order we stay put until we hear otherwise!
Cassie angrily gets up from the table and the other members of the team watch her storm out while the older members turn to Sonya.
Hanzo: General Blade what do you require of the Shirrai Ryu and the Lin Kuei?
Sonya: Nothing at the moment, if you hear anything let us know.
Hanzo: We will take our leave then, Takeda if you need us again do not hesitate to reach out.
Hanzo and Sub Zero get up from the table and bow but before they exit the room Hanzo takes one last glare at the Terminator knowing full well that it's not human but isn't quite sure what it is or what's it's purpose is.
Kenshi: I take it you'd like me to stay behind on this one General?
Sonya: That would be appreciated Kenshi and if possible calling upon our White Lotus friends in New York. Cyrax, I need you to speak with Breaker and anyone else who has info on the Shin-Tan. Kids go find Cassie and when she calms down from her temper tantrum let me know, we're going to look for Mr. Cage.
One Week and Three Days Later... Sonya is in the War Room standing beside John Connor and other high ranking officers in the Special Forces. Paperwork and files are messily scattered across the table, the group is watching the satellite footage of a potential rescue operation happen. Cassie, The Terror Twins, Jacqui, Takeda, and Kung Kin are in the middle of an intense fire fight. Kung Jin quickly shoots an explosive arrow and the Terror Twins charge in their armor fully, bullets are bouncing off of the two of them and make short work of the Shin-Tan soldiers. Jess wacks one of the soldiers across the face with the stock of her AR while Zophia spears into another soldiers knee breaking. They both crash into the wall only to find out the hostage they thought would be a Johnny Cage was actually just a bomb.
Jess: Oh shit!
Jess grabs Zophia and the two of them run out of the room only for the explosion to go off. Sonya and John exchange looks of worry and Sonya quickly grabs the microphone.
Sonya: Scouts, how copy?!
Cassie: General, we are safe. The armor around the terror twins protected them from the explosion. We got bad intel, headed back to chopper over.
Sonya then slams her fist on the table and is very clearly upset. She heads down to the detention cells which are currently holding the many Shin-Tan soldiers who invaded a week ago, she sees Kenshi and Takeda meditating when in actuality they have been had at work at interrogating the Shin-Tan operatives telepathically. Sonya enters the cell of one of the soldiers and starts beating on the captive and throws him against the wall, pinning him with her fore arm on his neck.
Sonya: Where is he?! Talk!
Shin-Tan Soldier: The telepaths have been trying for a week now, what makes you think I'd tell you!
Sonya goes to punch him in the face with her gauntlet glowing with purple energy only for the back of her arm to be grabbed by Kenshi.
Kenshi: It's not what he would want General. You smell like coffee and cigarettes, get some rest.
Kenshi let's go of her hand and she storms out of the cell grazing Kenshi on her way out. The next morning Sonya is in her office going through all the intel and likely location they have Johnny's whereabouts she then gets a knock at the door.
Sonya: Come in.
John Connor walks in through the door with Cyrax.
Cyrax: We have something for you General.
Cyrax then begins to project holograms of a building and a tropical island. Sonya looks at the two holograms confused.
Sonya: What am I looking?
John Connor: That building we believe is a Shin-Tan front based in San Francisco. Cyrax could you zoom in on what we found on the island?
Cyrax zooms in on the island to reveal a heavily armed fortress of Shin-Tan soldiers.
Cyrax: We believe this is Ming's current HQ. Based off satellite imagery and drone footage they have some of the most dangerous weapons this side of the Milky Way, 24/7 patrols around the entire island, and finally powerful friends guarding the facility.
Cyrax zooms in on a woman with wearing a suit and a red tie with what looks like a rabbit mask made out of paper.
John Connor: That is one Celia Penderghast, the first Conduit locked up by Augustine when she officially formed. We have reason to believe she's been recruited by Ming and is extremely dangerous.
Cyrax: That's not all we found.
Cyrax then zooms out from the drone footage and on a nearby dock on the island. Shin-Tan soldiers unloading containers with the Abstergo logo on them.
Cyrax: We've long suspected that Abstergo has been up to no good. This pretty much confirms it.
Sonya: Where did you get this intel?
Cyrax: It took some time but Breaker and I finally cracked through their encrypted communications network. We intercepted communications between this building in San Francisco and this island.
Sonya: Where is the island?
John Connor: In the Mediterranean, off the coast of Medici.
Sonya: Do we have the green light Director?
John Connor: Not yet, this facility is massive and given that Aberstgo and an on the run conduit are involved we're going to need to need a few extra hands on deck.
Sonya: Such as?
Jack Ryan then enters the room and says "Some familiar faces for certain and you'll probably have to make some new friends which I know you're not great at but you'll learn". Sonya looks up from her desk to see Jack Ryan walk into her office but he isn't alone he also walks in with CIA director James Greer and Kate Laswell.
Sonya: It's good to see you again Dr. Ryan.
Jack: You as well General. It goes without saying but the CIA has a vested interest in getting Johnny Cage back from his abductors. We also have resources that we think would be appropriate in a rescue op.
Greer: A colleague of myself and Dr. Ryan would like to lend his team for this operation. Rainbow 6 specializes in things like this.
Sonya: Tell John I look forward to seeing him and his team in action. Laswell, it's been awhile. I didn't think 141 was still a thing.
Laswell: We're still around. We even have some new blood in our ranks and we're more then happy to help. One of our new recruits is going to be very excited when he hears about this new assignment.
John Connor: Anyone else you would recommend General?
Sonya: I have a couple ideas Director.
Sonya looks at a framed picture on her desk of her when she was a little girl with her father who was still in uniform and another man, this man had dark black hair and was wearing a cowboy hat and a Hawaiian shirt. This man is none other then her "uncle" Tom Sheldon, former member of the CIA offshoot "The Agency" and handler of Rico Rodriguez.
Sonya: When does this recruitment tour start?
Laswell: What time is it now?
