Setting: this is from the AU world of Crossroads (a round robin posted under "The Writer's Hangout"). All you need to know for this story is that Tex is...being Tex. But you should reach Crossroads anyway, because it's very good. :)

Sasha walked into the Greens' house, only to stop short at the sight of Tex Nolan wearing a well-tailored black flocked three-piece tuxedo suit, complete with a pristine white shirt and bowtie. "Now I feel like I didn't get a memo to dress up."
Kara bustled over dressed, Sasha was relieved to see, in black skinny jeans and a red, button-down blouse. Festive, but not overly done. Exactly what Sasha was aiming for with her oversized green sweater that was cinched at the waist, over black leggings and ankle boots.
Kara handed Sasha a glass of champagne, nodding at Tex. "Gone with the Wind."
Frowning, Sasha searched her memory for the one time she saw the movie a solid fifteen years prior. "Did Rhett..."
"Scarlett," Kara interrupted.
As memory of the dress that Scarlett wore returned, Sasha's eyes widened. "Oh."
"Exactly." Kara shrugged. "He's crazy, but we put up with him because we like his wife."
"Hey!" Tex yelled, smoothing his hands down the sides of his flocked suit. "It's the Christmas Ball and I feel like I'm Cinderella."
"Maybe if Cinderella was Shrek in disguise," Andrea replied, shaking her head at her husband as she joined Kara and Sasha. Dressed, Sasha immediately noticed, in plain black jeans and a pullover. As though reading Sasha's thoughts, Andrea explained. "Tex wanted us to match. I told him that I would wear all black but that's as far as I was going."
"Spoilsport," Tex tossed out, but removed any possible sting by wrapping Andrea in his arms and planting a sound kiss on her lips.
Kara grabbed Sasha's arm, tugging her towards the kitchen. "I have a feeling that flocked suit is going to be making a dramatic exit very soon."
