Petunia wasn't expecting this... her sister, was dead.
Although they haven't been close she felt a pain struck in her chest.
Her sister was dead and her only son was in front of her, on Petunia's doorstep.
"Those damn creatures killed my sister! Their freakiness killed my sister!"
It wasn't until she realized how quiet the boy was which caused her to break out of her trance. Quickly she took the basket that was nesting the boy into the house, warmth of the inside hitting them smoothly.
Starting today the boy was going to be her own and she would keep him away from that...

Harry wasn't what the Dursleys were expecting.
In muggle standards he was unique... and it didn't take long for them to figure that out.
The boy had perfect memory and could comprehend things that ordinary 5 year olds wouldn't understand.
He was also polite and listened when told to do a task instead of throwing a tantrum like Dudley.
In short he was a prodigy.
Even his teachers had stated that he was a prodigy.
Every lesson he seemed bored and when asked to solve a simple 56 equation he would answer them without batting an eye. The teachers thought they he was way advanced for his grade so most wanted to move him higher.
Eventually they started teaching him multiplication and division, as expected he also excelled in that area, Harry going through with the same bored expression as always.

Petunia was becoming more nervous after Harry's 7th birthday, her husband, Vernon, comforting her by rubbing her back gently.
Harry was showing signs of magic and while she was hoping to keep him away from it as long as possible she knew it was inevitable.
Meanwhile Harry was in his room wondering what had happened.
He had went to the nearby park with Dudley and his friends.
While playing on the sand box, some bullies came over to ruin his creation and losing his temper sand was thrown at one of the boys eyes.
Although..., the sand wasn't thrown by his own bare hands. It's like something else was controlling the sand.
Dudley, being the one who witnessed it, told his mom the story.
