Here's to the 20th Anniversary of Codename Kids Next Door, one of my fave shows of all time on Cartoon Network ^^

As tribute, I've done this story as a continuation from the series finale and, as you'd say, making it a bit like the planned GKND series in a way.

Anyways, without anything else, let's get on with the story shall we?

Enjoy

Prologue

Outskirts of Dubai

In the starry sky of night, a lone ship flew across the clouds, right over the luminous city of Dubai towards an area long abandoned area, decommissioned after a great war in the 2000s, yet it was a historical sight that had to be preserved. The ship flew over the base and one the sands only two miles away. "There's a great story, some kids know about..." A girl's voice spoke, as two kids exited the ship and walked over towards the base, up about several dunes. "One during the days when our world was invaded by a wicked galactic empire..." The girl continued to speak as she and her friend climbed the last dune.

"A story about a boy...his team...a fuel tank..." Before speaking the last part, the two kids had reached a fence, sealing off the whole base from the rest of the desert of Dubai. And it was revealed that the kid wasn't speaking to her friend, but rather...doing a video of herself and speaking to her a lot of her viewers around the world. She was also revealed to be a slender African-American girl who wore an indigo shirt over a white long sleeved shirt, a rose-red skirt, black short leggings, a pair of sneakers and a raspberry-pink cap. She also had long hair that was tied into a curly ponytail. "...and a ship." She finished, gaining lots of likes on her video with the odd bored emoji face.

Her friend, a tall American boy wearing a brown hoodie, dark blue jeans, dark red running shoes and had messy red hair, had cut through the fence with one of his gadgets and then the two of them swiftly snuck into the base, being careful to avoid any patrol ships guarding the area. Meanwhile, the girl continued to stream her video online, still telling the story of Kid Next Door from the old days and how one operative save the world from the invasion she mentioned. "A handful of kids claimed that the triumph this kid brought ours and other worlds was the beginning of a new era in Kids Next Door history." She went on, with excitement, though it soon turned to a serious tone.

"But others bragged that the story was bonkers, claiming that the kid was crazy and decommissioned for it. Heck, they even said that none of the story was true." She said with a solemn tone in her voice, turning away from her phone briefly. However, she soon turned her frown upside down and looked back at the phone. "However, I actually believe this kid was a hero. And as soon as I find the truth, I know what to tell every operative in the Kids Next Door organization. Just six words-" But before she could continue her video, she was cut off by a figure, who appeared from behind her.

"Who are you talking to, Angie?" The figure, revealing to be a much younger girl with shoulder-length blond hair, asked. She was shorter than the girl, called Angie, wore a pink flower hairpin in her hair, a rose pink shirt under baby blue denim dungarees and lilac-coloured converse shoes. "U-Uh nobody, Hana." Angie, exclaimed in fright as she immediately hid her phone behind her back instantly. "She was narrating to her followers again. Classic Numbuh 005." Angie's friend teased much to his friend's immediate fright. "H-Hey, no I wasn't, Numbuh 88-Speed. I was just...doing a video log." She said in denial, though she didn't fool Numbuh 88-Speed in any way.

"Yeah, right. Also, sorry for being a bit mean, what are you doing here, Numbuh 37.4? Didn't I tell you to stay on the ship?" Numbuh 88-Speed then asked the younger operative in annoyance. "I was bored, and Angie-I mean, Numbuh 005, promised to take me stargazing." Numbuh 37.4 whined, even looking at Numbuh 005 as if to say she wanted her to back her up. "Well it was either that or leave you at the treehouse with Numbuhs 909A and 909B, and yeesh 909A is so much trouble." Numbuh 88-Speed said at the mention of one of his fellow operatives.

"Marty, it's fine. I did promise Hana I'd take her stargazing afterwards. Besides, everyone else was too busy to babysit her, remember?" Numbuh 005 then said to Marty, who still looked hesitant. "But what if we get caught or if she gives us away to any patrol ships? I don't want to explain why the three of us were trespassing in this place to Numbuh 9000, I mean, we both know what he's like." Numbuh 88-Speed then explained, trying to convince Numbuh 005 to bring Numbuh 37.4 back to the ship, though this didn't convince Angie in the slightest. "Well, can't she tag along with us for a little while...?" She then asked, even doing a little pouty face to convince Numbuh 88-Speed.

Numbuh 88-Speed was pretty much hesitant to accept, but eventually, due to Numbuh 37.4's pouty face, he gave in. "Ugh...alright, alright, she can come. But try and keep Hana quiet, I really would prefer that every operative never knew we were here." He groaned, allowing Hana to accompany him and Angie. "Yay!" The young operative cheered before suddenly having her mouth briefly covered by Numbuh 005's hand. "Oops, sorry." Hana then quietly said with an awkward giggle before the trio continued walking towards the abandoned base.

Near the abandoned buildings up ahead…

Numbuhs 005, 88-Speed and 37.4 walked down the runway, made only for KND ships landing at the base, towards the abandoned buildings up ahead. What was originally a proud base built with so many defences was now a shell of its former glory, and many might even claim that it was haunted too. Hana, being the youngest, was a little scared of the abandoned base, though her fear was suppressed when Angie held her hand. Angelina and Hana were close friends ever she took Hana on as her mentor when she graduated from the Cadets Next Door.

"Welcome everyone, Resistance Base Zeta. One of the greatest landmarks in the history of the Kids Next Door. Back during the great invasion of the 2000s, it was commissioned to help fight off the galactic invaders and save everyone, kids, adults, heck even teenagers too. This place was not only for refugees, but also the last line of defence for nearly every Kids Next Door operative on Earth." Numbuh 005 went on, explaining the history behind the abandoned base. "Why was this gigantic place decommissioned again, Numbuh 005?" Numbuh 37.4 asked out of curiosity, though Numbuh 88-Speed was a little annoyed that she was still young.

He wanted to respond, but Numbuh 005 immediately cut him off. "A very good question, Numbuh 37.4. The base was no longer needed after we won the war against those invaders, also known as the Galactic Kids Next Door, so it was eventually decommissioned about three years afterwards." Angelina explained, not only to Hana, but also her followers as well. "It was...also because of the sacrifice of one of the greatest operatives in the history of the Kids Next Door too..." Numbuh 88-Speed then said, immediately attraction the attention of his two friends.

"Oh...yeah. I almost forgot to mention that part. We won the war...but at a great cost." Numbuh 005 said, looking away from the camera slightly but in a sad manner. "Who was this kid, Angie...a-and why did he..." Numbuh 34.7 asked, though she trailed off a little. But at that moment however, before Hana even got her answer, the trio heard a loud boom from the sky behind them from a good distance, this took them by surprise almost immediately. "Did you girls hear that just now…? Or was that just me?" Numbuh 88-Speed asked nervously, worried about the answer.

"It ain't you, Marty…" Numbuh 005 responded, turning around towards the direction the noise came from, oblivious to the fact that she was still streaming her video. In the night sky, there was there she saw a bright light moving towards Angie and her friends, at a really high speed. "What's that...?" Numbuh 88-Speed asked as he saw the light moving down towards the base's runway. "Is it aliens...?" Numbuh 37.4 asked with a hint of fascination, even moving towards the light like she was mesmerised by it's very presence. "H-Hana, get back here. It's too dangerous." Numbuh 005 called to her friend, but Numbuh 37.4 couldn't take her eyes off the light.

The light landed on the runway and was now heading towards Numbuh 37.4 at an alarming speed. As if her instincts kicked in, Numbuh 005 rushed towards her friend with both determination and panic. "HANA, LOOK OUT!" Numbuh 005 screamed before grabbing Hana and jumping out the way of the light just before it hit the two girls, but dropped her phone in the process. "ANGELINA!" Numbuh 88-Speed yelled, rushing towards the two girls in hopes that they weren't hurt. It was hard to see with all the dust the strange light had brought with it, but after a moment, he saw his two friends, lying on the sand unharmed and out of harm's way.

"You girls ok?" He said, rushing over to Numbuh 005's side to help her up. "Y-Yeah, we're fine. That was pretty close." Angie responded as she dusted the sand out of Hana's hair gently as the young operative was slightly traumatized yet tearful. "Oh good...so what the heck were you thinking, Numbuh 37.4?! You could've been turned into a human pancake!" Numbuh 88-Speed then yelled at his fellow operative, almost enough to make her sob. "Ok, go easy on her. But seriously though Hana, please don't do that again." Numbuh 005 then said, first towards Marty and then towards Hana. "I-I'm sorry. I was just...didn't know what came over me." Hana finally cried tearfully.

Angelina then calmed Hana down soothingly whilst Numbuh 88-Speed looked towards where 'the light' had stopped. "Alright, but on a more serious note, what is that thing...? Where'd it come from? Ohh, please tell me we weren't ratted out." He then asked, seeing the dust clearing to reveal that it was actually a ship. In fact, it wasn't just any ship from the Kids Next Door, but rather, an alien-like ship with a strange language on it. "O...k, Good news: this thing isn't a patrol ship. But, what do you think this thing is, Angie...?" Marty said after observing the ship, all before he turned towards Numbuh 005, who was just as curious to know.

"I...don't think it's a Kids Next Door ship at all, Marty..." Angelina said as she walked up to the ship. It wasn't like any other patrol ship that they'd ever seen before. Rather, this alien ship looked fairly similar to a jet that almost resembled a tetrahedron from the position of it's two wings and tail. It had a glass-like oval dome near the nose of the ship, which represented the cockpit, a few hatches which assumedly housed the weapons and on the rear of the ship was a huge jet engine surrounded by three smaller engines that formed a triangular shape around it. And on the bottom of the vehicle were three sets of cylinder-like wheels for landing.

"Wow...it really is aliens." Numbuh 37.4 said with awe, unable to take her eyes off the vehicle. "But what would a ship like this be doing landing at this base? Heck, how would it even know about it either?" Numbuh 88-Speed then asked as he observed the triangular vessel. "Marty, why don't you hang back with Hana for a moment? I'll go check this thing out some more." Numbuh 005 said to her friend, who nodded and immediately took Hana away from the ship. Looking at this magnificent vessel, Angelina saw that not only was it one she was unfamiliar with, but it also had damages dealt to it, showing that it had seen it's fair share of battles.

However, the most shocking detail about the ship, which she discovered was called the T.E.T.R.A.H.E.D.R.O.C.K.E.T., was the mechanical gauntlet with a barely visible infinity sign, still clutching the side of the ship, inches away from the cockpit, after being ripped from it's owner. "Wow...this thing is amazing" She said to herself, running her hand gently along the ship's right wing, which felt stronger than all the metal used in every 2x4 tech she had used. The cockpit then suddenly opened up on the other side of the vehicle, releasing smoke from within. "A-Angie, what's going on?" Numbuh 88-Speed asked with concern.

"G-Get down you guys. Stay hidden." Numbuh 005 whispered, gesturing her friends to duck. As they did, Angie then ducked below the ship's wing as well, but she also looked towards the cockpit where she saw a figure emerging from the smoke. As the smoke swiftly cleared, the figure turned out to be...a boy. A bald boy who wore sunglasses, a dark red and black sci-fi-like varsity hoodie over a red turtle-neck sweater, silver-grey shorts and a pair of brown boots. He looked towards the mechanical gauntlet, almost like he knew what it was, and smile.

"Well, I have to admit it, Bradley...it was a close call. But at least we're still in once piece." He said, speaking with a British accent to someone else, who also exited the vehicle too. The second figure, which Angie heard chittering and saw, was what looked to be a cyborg skunk with 2x4 technology. Numbuh 005 then stayed hidden, trying not to give away her position as the boy ripped the fist off the roof of the vessel and threw it onto the ground. "My sincere apologies, Numbuh Googol, but consider yourself decommissioned." He said to the fist before getting off the vehicle, opening up the engine compartment hatch on the other side and taking out a strange glowing canister.

He then took out a communicator from his pockets, activated it and spoke into it. "Numbuh 1 to Kids Next Door. Come in Kids Next Door." The boy said to communicator, revealing his name to Angie before being met with a static noise from his device. "Kids Next Door, come in. Numbuh 5? Numbuhs 4 and 3? Numbuh 2? Does anybody read me?" Numbuh 1 then asked again, still met with a static noise. This had the British boy so confused at this, wondering why nobody was picking up. "Strange...why aren't they answering, Bradley?" He then asked his companion, who shrugged in confusion.

Numbuh 1 would've walked over to the base for answers, but his foot suddenly tapped against something on the ground. Looking down, Numbuh 1 saw Angie's phone, which she had dropped, still livestreaming with many followers confused on what was happening. As the boy picked up the phone to observe it, many of the followers began leaving shocked and surprised emojis and even messages like Is that Numbuh 1?!, Holy crud, is this real?! and Numbuh 1? But I thought he went missing years ago? Numbuh 1 was confused at what he was holding and what the messages meant.

"W-What do you think this thing, Numbuh 6? Some kind of adult tracking device?" He asked Bradley, who shrugged, acting like the phone was nothing like he had even seen before in his life, and of course, he hadn't. "Uh excuse me...that's my phone." Numbuh 005 said from behind the British boy, immediately catching him off guard and causing him to scream out loud. In doing so, he accidently dropped the glowing canister, which was caught just in time by the cyborg skunk, and attempted to reach for his weapons for defence, thankfully however, he never got that chance.

"W-Woah, it's ok, it's ok. I won't hurt you, dude." Angie said, calming down the boy. And hearing this, Numbuh 1 calmed down. "Oh, so sorry about that. You startled me." He said, taking a deep breath and looking at the girl in front of him. "Anyway, what are you still doing on this base?" The British boy asked with a slight firm expression after handing Angie her phone. "We were just checking out the old base and even stargaze afterwards. Please don't tell KND Global Command that we snuck here, because we'll get into big trouble." Numbuh 005 explained to Numbuh 1 whilst also insisting not to rat her or her friends out.

"We?" Numbuh 1 asked in confusion. "She means herself, Hana and I." Numbuh 88-Speed then called over to the boy as he walked over towards him while bringing Hana with him. "Please don't tell the supreme leader, he's a great big meanie." Numbuh 37.4 then shyly explained to the boy. "Oh I get it, were you three left behind on the base after missing a transport shuttle to escort you home?" Numbuh 1 asked, thinking that the three kids were left at the base by some slacker operative. "Uh...what do you mean by that?" Numbuh 88-Speed asked, pretty confused on what this boy was talking about.

"Well, since we've managed to win the war against the Galactic Kids Next Door, I would assume the Kids Next Door would've brought you kids straight back to your homes by now." Numbuh 1 explained, revealing what he was on about...though something about what he was on about seemed off...way off. "Actually...I have a ship outside the base." Numbuh 88-Speed then said to Numbuh 1. "And we're actually WITH the Kids Next Door too." Numbuh 37.4 then added with a smile. Numbuh 1 was confused at this. "Wait, if you weren't left here, then why ARE you here?" He then asked the trio. Though his thoughts were cut off after Numbuh 005 immediately realised something.

"Wait...were you just talking about the greatest battle of the 2000s?" She asked the British boy with shock in her voice. "Well...yes, I suppose so. W-Why?" Numbuh 1 the asked in shock, though he felt him head going light. "A-And your codename is...Numbuh 1?" Angie then asked in shock. "I think what she means to ask is, and yeah I know there's a load of Numbuh 1s in the KND, what's your real name?" Numbuh 88-Speed then asked, politely, trying not to sound rude in any way. "M-My name...is Nigel...U-Uno..." The boy spoke, his head getting more lighter by the moment...and then he fainted, possibly due to exhaustion or almost possibly like he hadn't slept in years.

Rushing to his side, Numbuh 005 and her friends were absolutely shocked, and even the robotic Skunk was concerned for him as well. "Numbuh 88-Speed to Numbuhs 909A and 909B, we need immediate medical equipment over to Resistance Base Zeta pronto." Numbuh 88-Speed then spoke into his communicator as soon as he got it out. "Copy that, Numbuh 88-Speed, we'll be there soon." The voice on the other end responded. All the while, whilst Hana was petting the skunk, Numbuh 005 was watching over the boy with both concern and shock. "Nigel Uno? As in...the Nigel Uno?" Angelina asked with a stunned expression.

"Wow...even better than aliens..." Numbuh 37.4 said with amazement while hugging the skunk. "Wait, that's impossible...nobody's seen that kid since...forever..." Marty then responded, unable to believe that this was the legendary Numbuh 1, the same original leader of Sector V and the same one who helped fight the great war...but both he and Angie was now pondering: how did he get here and where did he come from?

Newest York, Galactacus Prime

Within this fantastic treehouse-like city of the cosmos, many operatives and citizens of this place were living their normal space lives...if only there weren't huge robots towering over them and constantly disrupting their lives all together most of the time. It was how life was with the Galactic Kids Next Door in charge, and most citizens were used to it at this point. At that very moment, the monitors on top of the tallest tower in the city activated, revealing a robotic figure with glowing red eyes.

"Attention, to all citizens of Newest York. Uprising Rogue Operatives are among us." The figure spoke, reaching out to everyone in Galactacus Prime, who watched all screens which broadcasted the message. Originally, the word of Rogue Operatives weren't a problem to the GKND for a long time, until a good many months ago, when they were betrayed by one of their own, and only then did the supreme leader begin updating their forces.

"Rogue members of the Galactic Kids Next Door who dishonour our rule, invade our sectors and take from us." As the robotic figure kept speaking, a manhole opened up within one of the alleyways of the city, revealing five figures. One was a female elf-like warrior, another was a spider-like alien with four arms, the third was a dark figure with an aura-like hair and a robotic arm, the fourth was an orange robot with two antennas on it's head and the fifth was a figure in a black suit with a helmet with a golden visor.

Once out of said manhole, the five figures climbed the building on their right all the way to the top and rushed along it towards an observatory-like dome/arena which was around twenty buildings away. "Ungrateful party poopers who bring with them chaos, disrespect and war upon our way of life." As soon as he heard this, the robotic-armed figure turned towards the screen with rage. "Seriously?! Well if by party poopers, you mean the kind that save all adulthood life in the universe from wicked tyrants like yourself and your boss, Numbuh Googol!" He growled, almost tempted to shoot the nearby screen.

"Numbuh X, focus. We have got a job to do here." The elf warrior said firmly much to the grumbling of her teammate, who then resumed rushing to the building well ahead of him and the team. "Worry not though. We are constructing a superweapon. One which will annihilate all who threaten any of our organisation and fortify our defences, making them insufficient to us." As the robot, called Numbuh Googol, spoke, the screen switched, revealing the construction of a gigantic planet-like weapon to show what it was capable of.

"As the voice for the Galactic Supreme Leader, I now speak to all who seek to stop our organisation: We of the Galactic Kids Next Door can no longer tolerate your rebellion. We will find you all, we will detain you all, and we will annihilate your home worlds to prevent any further resistance." Numbuh Googol then finished threateningly, and by that time, the five figures had reached their destination and were already sneaking through the vents to the grand hall within, though not before Numbuh X smashed one of the screens that played the message.

Upon reaching the interior

The five operatives exited the vents inside a storage room. They took a moment before activating small devices on their belts, causing the five to become anonymous citizens from different worlds, all dressed in grand outfits. And with that, the five left the storage room and entered the grand hall, where the high-ranking GKND operatives were, as they said on Earth, partying. "Impressive...disguises working like charm." A voice spoke on the other side of the team's communicators. "Yep, we've got Numbuh Pi to thank for that." The robotic operative said gratefully as she casually strolled along the grand hall, disguised as a grand operative.

"And be careful not to physically interact with any of the guests, we don't wanna blow our cover." Numbuh X then said to the robot. "We get it, dude. Relax." The spider operative said, reassuring his fellow operative. The group kept mingling with the operatives for about a few moments until at last, they saw their target. Ahead of them was an alien tree, speaking with one of the more higher ranking operatives. In his hand was the plans for the GKND's superweapon and of course...it also contained the weaknesses of it as well, exactly what the team were after.

"Target is sighted. Retrieve plans for weapon and get out of there." The voice on the other end said, giving the quintet their orders. "Ok team, you heard Numbuh 50l4r. It's time for operation snatch. Everyone know the plan?" The spider operative said to his fellow teammates on his communicator. "Got it all memorized." Numbuh X said as he pointed his finger towards his head with pride. "My programming has every detail uploaded to my memory banks, Numbuh 8I." The robotic operative responded to the operative, called Numbuh 8I, her programming commencing the operation.

"We've gone over it the same number times as the lands of my world. Need we even go over it again?" The elf operative responded rhetorically with a simple nod. As for the dark figure, he too responded with a simple nod. "Again with the silence? You know you can always speak, right? I mean, it's not like nobody will recognise you." Numbuh X groaned in a hint of annoyance, prompting the figure to shrug slightly. "Alright. Numbuh 9th-Realm, you're up. Cause an accident that'll get rid of that tree for as long as possible." Numbuh 8I said to the elf, called Numbuh 9th-Realm.

As the alien tree made his way over to one of the tables, Numbuh 9th-Realm also walked towards him, a glass of juice at hand. Once close enough, the elf faked tripping up, spilling all her juice onto the tree who exclaimed in shock. "Oh my eternal goodness, I am so sorry about that. Here, let me help you there." Numbuh 9th-Realm exclaimed, faking her tone of shock as she immediately helped the tree to his feet. "Oh for the love of...at least watch where you're going next time. Yeesh...operatives these days." He groaned whilst cleaning himself briefly.

He then left with a disguised Numbuh 9th-Realm, leaving the plans on the table with his guards watching over them until he returned. "Phase one complete. Numbuh X, you're up next. Get those guards to fight each other somehow, and Numbuh E2, please take care of the lights if you wouldn't mind." Numbuh 8I said to Numbuh X and the robot called Numbuh E2. "With pleasure..." Numbuh X said with a snicker as he snuck over to the two guards. "Copy that. Dulling lights when you're ready." Numbuh E2 responded as she made her way towards the light controls.

After a moment, Numbuh X blew into his two hands, faking a fart noise from the guard on the left. "Oh come on, dude. Seriously?" "What? No way, that was totally you." "What'd you say? You think I'd do something like that?!" "Just confess..." "It wasn't me!" The two of them bickered before they began fighting over who farted, all to which Numbuh X snickered at. "Alright, Evie. It's go time." He then said to Numbuh E2, allowing her to temporarily dim the lights, confusing and even making everyone in the room panic. "Nice one guys. Ok dude, now's your chance to get the plans." Numbuh 8I said to the dark figure, who nodded and appeared at the table.

Using the shadows to his advantage, the dark figure then snatched the plans for the superweapon from the table, hiding them within a hidden compartment in his backpack before replacing them with fake copies. The lights then came back on, and by then, the whole team regrouped, blending right back into the crowd of galactic operatives without a trace. "Skilful work, the lot of you. Now get out of there and back to headquarters, pronto. We need to decrypt plans and find way to destroy weapon." Numbuh 50l4r said to the five operatives whilst they absconded from the hall with the plans.

"Copy that Numbuh 50l4r, We'll meet you back at base. Numbuh 8I out." Numbuh 8I said as he and his team then reached the entrance. "Well c'mon you guys, let's get our butts back to the A.S.T.O.R.O.C.K.E.T pronto." Numbuh X said, right as they walked out the entrance. By that time, the tree had gotten back to the table from the bathroom, excepting to meet with an important client...only to find that the plans were stolen and replaced with...boring comic books?! "The plans, they've been stolen!" He exclaimed in horror, the thought of the consequences of having to face Numbuh Googol for his idiocy.

Within mere moments, the alarm was sounded by his two guards, after they stopped fighting, and interrogated everyone in the room within mere seconds. "Numbuh 74.239, none of the guests have stolen the plan." The first guard explained to the tree, revealed to be Numbuh 74.239. "Well they couldn't have just gotten up and walked away, could they?!" He growled, frustrated at this occurrence, and about to completely lose his mind. "That's the thing. We believe that the thief may have snuck into the party and stolen the plans from you while you were in the bathroom." The second guard explained.

"So...he finally reveals himself after many months..." The alien tree then realised. "You know who did it, boss?" The first guard asked, surprised that Numbuh 74.239 knew who the thief was just now. "Oh you're darn right I do. Now take to the streets, find that thief and bring him and any others to me immediately! The Galactic Supreme Leader and Numbuh Googol will also want to hear this." The living tree then responded, giving his orders to his guards before they rushed out to the streets, leaving a frustrated Numbuh 74.239 alone at his table.

Down on the streets...

The group rushed down it, narrowly avoiding the crowd and almost arriving at the space port. "The ship is up ahead, we are almost free." Numbuh 9th-Realm said, relieved that the mission was a success. All of a sudden, the dark figure heard a cry for help down the street next to the one the team was on. There, he could see a pink mantis alien fleeing from robotic guards who seemed to be chasing her. "Teenager identified. All citizens stand clear for curing protocol." The robots said, focusing only the mantis alien only. "N.I.N.E.R troopers. Let's keep going, they aren't for us." Numbuh 8I said, seeing what was going on.

The dark figure hesitated, looking at his way back to the ship, and then back towards the helpless little mantis. Making up his mind, the figure rushed to help that mantis much to the shock of his fellow teammates. "Hey, come back!" Numbuh X yelled with shock, though the dark figure ignored him. "Where are you going? Rocket is other way, not that way!" Numbuh 50l4r said to the figure, shocked at what he was doing. Groaning, Numbuh 9th-Realm rushed after him along with Numbuh E2, leaving Numbuhs 8I and X to hurry back to the ship.

The mantis child ran as far as she could, but was cornered at a dead end in the alleyways with nothing behind her but the NINER troopers. "Teenager identified. Preparing curing protocol." One of the troopers spoke darkly, arming itself to fire at the poor alien with strange weapons. "P-Please. I-I'm not even 11 years old yet!" The poor alien mantis pleaded, begging for her life, though the troopers did not show any ounce of guilt. "Scans indicate signs of growth towards adulthood. All adult and teenage life must be cured immediately." The other N.I.N.E.R trooper said after scanning the alien.

Both robots were prepared to fire upon the alien when all of a sudden, they both heard a thud from behind. They turned around to see the dark figure, taking out two twin guns as he charged them up and prepared to fight. "Alert! Resistance member and recent thief identified! Set all blasters to exterminate!" The N.I.N.E.R Troopers spoke aloud before both troopers' blasters turned red, indicating that they were prepared to attack. However, the dark figure merely cocked his head to one side before jumping into the air, avoiding the blasts before firing upon the first trooper and transforming both his guns into a powerful laser cannon that blasted the second trooper.

Both robots were blown to smithereens almost instantly before the figure landed on the ground. Then resetting both guns to what they originally were, the figure then looked at the alien mantis, who tried to hide out of panic. "H-Hey...it's alright. You're safe now." The figure spoke, doing his best to calm down the little mantis girl as he pressed a button on the side of his helmet which converted the whole helmet into an earpiece and revealing a familiar face, Numbuh 1, the Kids Next Door operative from the Planet called Earth, or as everybody on Earth knew him, Nigel Uno. "See now? It's only me." Nigel said with a smile of reassurance.

"N-Nigel...?" The little mantis said with both relief and amazement. Nigel then pulled out a gadget and handed it to the little girl. "Here, it'll help you get home safely without any N.I.N.E.R troopers hassling you. Now go before more come." He said before urging the little girl to leave, but not before she gave him a quick hug to say thank you. He was slightly touched by this, he failed to notice the N.I.N.E.R trooper behind him after leaving the alleyway. Before he could notice this, a spear pierced the body of the machine and caused it to blow up.

He then jerked his head around and then noticed the remains of the robot and of course, his fellow teammate. "Numbuh 1, what in the name of the nine lands of my home are you doing?!" Numbuh 9th-Realm exclaimed, rushing up to her ally with annoyance. "I couldn't just let those robots harm that little girl, I had to act." Numbuh 1 exclaimed as Numbuh E2 also arrived to the two operatives. "Ok, we will let you off on that one. But do NOT do that again." Numbuh 9th-Realm then sighed after warning Nigel about what he did. "Well excuse me, princess." He muttered to himself.

"Hey guys...if you're finished, then you may wanna hurry back to the ship." Numbuh X said on his communicator to his fellow teammates. "Why's that, Numbuh X?" Nigel then asked. The mission was successful, so why'd they need to hurry back so soon? "Oh, nothing too problematic, just...WE'VE GOT COMPANY!" Numbuh X spoke, calm at first, but the next minute, yelling in the ears of his teammates. Before the trio could answer, they turned to see a good many N.I.N.E.R troopers and GKND operatives rushing in their direction.

Seeing this, the trio immediately ran through the streets to the space port. As some of the NINER troopers caught up with them, though out of nowhere, a huge sticky net was blasted at them from above, rendering them unable to pursue their targets. "Good job, Numbuh 8I, that'll buy us some time." Numbuh 1 said to his fellow operative, who winked as he then made his way back to the ship. However, there was a huge problem with the ship, that being the matter of it needing to power up. "Ohhh, come on you piece of rock!" Numbuh X growled as he kicked the panel, hoping it would jumpstart the system...but it didn't.

"Oh great...we've got a problem guys." Numbuh 9th-Realm groaned after hearing it all on her communicator. "What's wrong, Numbuh 9th-Realm?" Numbuh 1 asked as he turned his head towards her. "The ship needs a few minutes to power up it's systems before we can fly it." She responded, and she wasn't wrong, since they had the ship after stealing it from the GKND. "There's no way we're gonna make it outta here with those guys on our tail, we're supernova mush!" Numbuh E2 exclaimed with shock as she saw the operatives from the Galactic Kids Next Door closing in on them.

"You guys can make it if I buy you some time." Numbuh 1 then said after a moment of thinking hard, even handing the backpack with the plans to Numbuh 8I too. "Take the plans and get back to the ship. I'll be right behind you." Numbuh 1 said, wanting to allow his team to escape without him. "Nigel, no! We've come too far and we are not leaving you behind!" Numbuh 8I exclaimed, refusing to leave his teammate behind out of sheer panic. "I know what I'm doing, Tarrant, trust me. Besides, I've got a little score to settle with Numbuh 74.239 too." Numbuh 1 said, reassuring his friend as he briefly batted an eye at the oncoming army.

Seeing no other option, Numbuhs 8I, 9th-Realm and E2 then nodded and rushed towards the ship. Numbuh 1 then turned towards the Galactic Operatives and got out his twin guns. "Nigel, if you get caught, I'm gonna pummel you." Numbuh X then said right around the time when the other operatives had jumped onto the ship and the latter itself almost at 100% online. Numbuh 1 didn't respond and instead kept his gaze upon the N.I.N.E.R troopers and the Galactic Kids Next Door Operatives whom he was said to have joined.

"Give it up, Nigel Uno. There's nowhere left to run! We've got you completely surrounded!" One of the higher ranking operatives yelled from one of the ships above. Nigel glared at his enemies, their treacherous lies and horrible ways giving him hatred towards the entire organisation. He had joined them to fight a war with evil adults, but what he saw changed everything forever, and now...he was fighting to stop their evil scheme. Still with his twin guns at hand, Nigel prepared to attack, with all the other enemies prepared to attack him. "BRING IT ON, YOU GALACTIC FIENDS!" He yelled, running towards his enemies into battle and into the bright light...

But only to suddenly wake up in a room out of shock...

He looked around, trying to remember the last thing he did...but he couldn't. The only thing he seemed to recall was joining the Galactic Kids Next Door, arriving at their galactic-like treehouse, but strangely nothing else after that. "W-Where am I...?" The British boy asked before seeing the bag that Numbuh 2 had given him before he had left Earth to become a member of the galactic organization. He would have started to look through the bag to see if there was anything to remember, but he stopped when he heard a voice.

"Looks like someone's finally awake." A familiar voice spoke from outside the room before the door opened to reveal the Deep Sea Science Lab operative, Numbuh 74.239, and boy did he seem cheerful. "N-Numbuh 74.239. It's been some time, hasn't it?" Numbuh 1 immediately said with surprise. "Oh you bet it has! Goodness, I was just informed by the Galactic Kids Next Door about some great news!" Gabe then exclaimed with excitement as he hugged an uncomfortable Nigel.

"W-What great news?" Numbuh 1 asked, feeling like something didn't feel right, or rather, felt a bit off. "You've really done your planet proud, Numbuh 1. We have won the war against evil adult tyranny." Numbuh 74.239 said, seeming so cheerful too. "We um...we have?" Nigel asked, pretty confused on how quick his time as a GKND operative was. "Yes of course, don't you remember? Oh, what am I saying? Of course you do." Gabe responded with excitement, cutting off Numbuh 1 before he could say he didn't remember.

"You were brought back to the Kids Next Door moon base just about half an hour ago, so now you can resume your daily life from before you left. Oh, and the GKND also took the liberty of modifying the memories of everyone who knows you, so to them, it'll be like you never left their lives in the first place." Numbuh 74.239 explained, something that not even Nigel or the KND knew what the GKND were capable of doing. "Well, that will be something…" Numbuh 1 said with surprise.

"It is, isn't it?! Anyways, since you're awake now, I'll go tell Numbuh 362 and your old team about your arrival, boy will they all be glad to see you." And with that, Gabe zipped out of the room before Numbuh 1 could even speak further with him, only to look at him once more. "Also, and I nearly forgot here, The Galactic Kids Next Door will send you your reward within a few days. So until then...try not to blow your own cover, will you?" He said before closing the door once again.

"T-Thank you…?" Numbuh 1 then said awkwardly, unsure about how to react to all this news, was he happy? Relieved? Confused? Nigel was undecided, heck he even thought about that dream he had, the one about him stealing plans, containing a superweapon that the GKND had created, along with about four other members of a team he couldn't remember being on…but he couldn't quite make sense out of it all, and pondered what it was about. Eventually enough, Nigel shrugged it all off and went to collect his stuff.

"Man, what a crazy dream. Perhaps I'm losing my touch after being away from Earth for so long…? Well, even if that IS the case, there's nothing like a good mission or maybe even being with my friends again won't fix." He said to himself with a chuckle following swiftly afterwards as he put his bag on his back. After sighing, Nigel then proceeded to exit the room and into the familiar corridors of the KND Moon base, unaware of the familiar twin guns contained in the two hidden side pockets.
