Alice waited alone on the porch with anticipation. Justin was coming home.

It had been three years since she had last seen him because unlike Jasper and herself,Justin never fit in with the domestic setup the Cullens had, on account that he spent half his life as a wolf and the other half as a vampire.That and he loved human blood too much to give it up.

A must if he wanted to remain with the Cullen family .

Alice decided to wait alone for his arrival after running over several scenarios,she had seen this was the best option to have a palatable outcome.

Edward couldn't stand him and the feeling was mutual,plus he needed to keep Bella out of sight until she could explain the situation to him.

Justin was here to help them save Bella not kill her himself.

"You cannot be serious!" Edward bellowed causing Bella to jump, knocking over the fresh vase of lilies Esme had placed on the coffee table 20 minutes beforehand

Alice would of spared her a glance had she not seen this exact scene play out already. She knew Edward would not react well to the announcement.She had called Justin and he would be returning home that evening. She had no choice. Like the wolves the newborn army would never have seen anything like him before and that put a tick firmly in the pro column.Of course in the con Column was the fact that Justin did not share their preference in diet, but she figured she could prevent him from spilling any human blood for the short time he was in Forks.

"We don't need him! And he is an added threat not a help to this situation! " Edward was furious how could his sister be so stupid

Alice was beginning to get frustrated with her brother.did he really think she would put Bella at risk by bringing Justin here?

And no matter what Edward thought of him ,Justin was still her family.It pained her to know how Edward felt about her other brother

" Look Edward . I know you don't like the idea and I understand...kind of. BUT Justin is coming wether you like it or not. I told him we needed his help and he dropped EVERYTHING to come and help us. No questions asked. He will be an asset to us,the newborns won't know what to do with him and it will make it easier to communicate with the pack they won't be able to block my vision because I can see him clearly"

Edward paused a moment thinking it through. He still didn't like the idea. In fact he positively hated it but he knew once Alice's mind was made up there would be nothing he could do about it.

"Fine.but Keep him out of my way and he stays far away from Bella understand?"

If it was possible Alice would of deflated, she didn't want Justin coming home to this

"I mean it Alice.One slip and I will end him myself"

In one swift motion he stood up taking Bella by the hand and headed for the stairs,stopping only to look back at Alice and say

"I hope you know what you're doing" and with that he left leaving Alice to her thoughts

Jasper had decided to remain inside with the others.

Although his gift may have helped a little in this situation and he and Justin had grown closer with Alice's help,the Cullens had agreed Alice was best placed to greet Justin and give him a run down of what they faced.

To the dismay of Rosalie who had quite the soft spot for the hybrid,despite her passionate disliking of wolves as a whole.

Like her he struggled with being changed he had no choice and saw it as a curse,something they had spent many long evenings finding common ground over, to the point she could forgive the smell.

Alice saw him coming and steeled herself for the reunion deciding to wait before tackling the subject of his bright red eyes,it would do no good to open with a confrontation.

"It couldn't be could it? Is that my Alice waiting for my arrival" came a sing song voice.

"Justin!" Alice exclaimed as she jumped from the top porch step into Justin's waiting arms,had he been human The force of her body would of crushed him instantly.

"There she is" looking over her shoulder he couldn't help but notice this 'welcome party' was lacking.

"Where's the rest of the fam? Blowing up balloons I hope" he chuckled trying to hide the slight pang of hurt he felt.

"They are inside waiting. We need to talk first" pulling away she fixed Justin with a hard stare "we need your help.but first there are rules" she continued

Rolling his eyes Justin let out a long suffering sigh which did not go unnoticed by Alice and resulted in a swift punch to the arm.

"Always with the rules.okay let's see, I promise not to eat any of your pets,I won't tease Edward,the pack is off limits although I do owe Sam a Rema..."

"Justin!" Another punch to the arm, this time a lot harder that almost made him stumble

"Okay! Okay! And no sparing with Emmet inside the house.Anything else?"

"Well actually..." Alice was unsure how to broach the subject and quickly turned to her gift to find the best way forward.

Satisfied he would not over react if she came straight out with it she pushed on

"I asked you here because we are facing a threat"

That piqued Justin's attention, and he looked at her with his complete attention

"Someone is building an army of newborns and they are coming here...for us"

Panic filled Justin's eyes,he had had his fair share of experience with newborns.The Volturi would often put him to work destroying them when he was in their 'service'.

"Why?! Why would they be coming for you?!"

Well they are not exactly coming here for us per se...they are coming for Bella"

That stumped him.

"Who the hell is Bella"
