BURNING GRAVITY

I OWN AND REGRET NOTHING!

I THANK GOD FOR EVERYTHING!

Navy Admiral Akainu(AKA Sakazuki) was many things: One of the most powerful men in the world, the user of the Magu-Magu fruit, the destroyer of Ohara, the supreme enforcer of Absolute Justice...one thing he was usually NOT was confused...

But there was a first time for everything I suppose...

The reason for his confusion? One second he was waiting with the rest of the fellow top brass at Marineford both for the execution of Portgas D. Ace AND Yonko Whitebeards inevitable retaliation...the next second he was in a forest?

Oh, and now had a splitting headache on top of everything else, that was REALLY not helping...

He quickly tried to regain his bearings...he looked around...but he saw no landmarks or anything that could distinguish his location! He took a closer look at the flora and fauna, but again it matched nothing he'd seen on the hundreds of islands he'd marched and killed on!

Rubbing his aching temple, he then whips out his personal Den Den Mushi and tries to contact Marineford. He'd worry about how he got here later, for now he needed to get back before Whitebeard showed up! He was one of the few people who could stand toe-to-toe with that stinking pirate, more importantly he was needed to enact one of their main contingency plans!

Akainu yanked back his now ringing ear as the burst of static from the snail only made his headache WORSE...

He quickly switched the snail through it's various frequencies, hoping SOMETHING was working...

...

Blind Ivan looked over the mass of robes as the solemnly held up the sacred candles...

"My brothers, we are gathered today on this day to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our society's founding...though our origins and founder have been lost to the mists of time and memory degradation we stand firm and resolute! We the the Blind Eye's remain the ever vigilant watchdogs to forever keep society blissfully ignorant of all that is unknown and wrong about this world...it is a heavy, tiring, back-breaking burden that we have taken for the sake of the unenlightened...SO NOW LET'S ALL GET DRUNK AND PLAY PING PONG!" Shouts their leader Blind Ivan to shouts of joy and delight...

He looks around the secret clearing in the forest as the festivities begin...

Everyone was here today: Toby Determined, Bud Gleeful, Woodpecker guy, Tats, Sprott, Unnamed woman in blue, Unnamed man in pink, guy who liked to lick buzz zappers...

'Okay, the names kinda blur together after awhile...yet another side-effect of the memory gun I suppose. But a small price to pay to maintain normalacy.' Thinks Ivan to himself as he cooks the hot dogs in the grill.

"Marineford! Fleet Admiral Sengoku! Commander-in-Chief Kong! Borsalino! Akoji you lazy ass! Someone answer me!"

It said something about the volume- or indeed the sheer angry WILL -of a voice, when it could cut right through such a loud party like a hot knife through butter and make EVERYONE hear drop what their doing and give the source their full attention.

A LARGE, perpetually scowling, uniformed, muscular man that looked like he could bench-press Tats with one armed tied behind his back had just come bursting out of the nearby hedge.

He ignored everyone else there, his focus completely on...a weird looking snail he wore on his hand like a wristwatch? ...which seemed to be talking?

Everyone groaned, the whole point of them coming out here in the middle of the woods was to avoid this VERY thing! They wanted a break consarn it!

Toby turned to Ivan, "Do we really need to do something about this? I mean it's just a funky looking snail...for all we know it could be just some weird trend from the orient or something..."

Ivan considered...but then shook his head resolute. "No, we cannot take chances..." Seeing everyone groan, he decided to relent a bit. "Alright, just this ONCE will skip all the ceremony and just have quickie zap. Tats, you have the best aim...get this over with, I can't hear the dogs over his yelling."

Tats nodded, he pulled out his memory gun and then typed in: 'weird snails and whatever the hell he's talking about right now.'

he then aimed and fired-

Now ordinarily, Akainu's Observation Haki and impeccable reflexes would've allowed him to easily doge this. But between his splitting headache, irritation toward the whole situation and anxiety over what was happening now in Marineford...it had made him just ONE. SECOND. TOO. SLOW...

ZAP!

BOOM!

Everyone screamed in horror, one second Tats was standing proud...the next he was a pile of molten ash!?

The fact of the matter was that for all the Blind Eye's big talk...they never really did much...

Luckily, most of the monsters and other oddities seemed content to stay within the woods or out of sight... although this summer they were oddly more active then usual for some reason...almost like something was agitating them from the shadows...

But nevermind that, the point is that between that and the 'understanding' they had with Preston Northwest and his control over the local media and the towns ONE internet router...they mostly didn't have to do much...so by and large they just spent their free time abusing the memory guns for their own benefit...

As for the few times a monster DID go on a rampage...they more or less just waited on the sidelines for the carnage to be over, overpowered the few traumatized and wounded survivors, erased their memories and Toby wrote some BS story that explained away the damage.

So when the ONE Heavy Hitter among them got violently murdered before their very eyes...well, they did what any group who relied mainly on hiding in the shadows and intimidation did when confronted with a REAL threat to their lives...

EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF!

Screamed Toby like a girl as everyone did likewise and ran for their lives...

Akainu shook his head...'what just?' Despite his head still ringing like nobody's business, his years of experience in life-or-death combat situations allowed him to quickly asses the situation in seconds:

1. he was in an unknown location with NO memory on how he'd gotten there or WHY he was here.

2. For a reason he could no longer remember, he'd just attacked a large man belonging to some weird esoteric, cult-like, robed group who were now running in terror from him.

3. Things were hazy, but the LAST thing he remembered was heading toward Fleet Admiral Sengoku's office to be briefed along with the rest of the top brass about some upcoming 'operation' that seemingly was considered high priority...

Conclusion: Far as he can tell whatever this 'high priority operation' had been about, must've involved this location or at the very least this group. The same group that- if he was reading the situation correctly -had just had one of their men attack him with some weird memory-based power.

He'd been too slow to stop the power taking effect, but NOT too slow to kill him. Since his death didn't reverse it, there was a real chance this could be permanent.

They all seemed like a bunch of wusses, but clearly if they could erase his memory there must be something more to them he wasn't seeing. ESPECIALLY if he'd been apparently sent to wipe them out for this high priority assignment -for why else would Sengoku have sent him out here? He knew his methods... -in any case, they willingly attacked a MARINE, that alone was a death sentence...

...And also he had a weird snail-like thing on his arm? What was that about?

Resolving to figure out the snail later, Akainu went full magma and began to chase after them. He knew he could end things immediately with Soru...but frankly the lack of information bugged him.

He didn't need his haki to tell this lot was a bunch of pansies...but clearly they were willingly to risk their lives to enrage a well-known admiral like him to take away his memories about them...so their must be something BIGGER to all this.

So he was going to deliberately draw this out and see if he could chase them to see if they'd lead them to whatever 'that' was...well, that and the fact between them attacking him, getting his memory stolen and the splitting headache he STILL had...he could use a little 'catharsis'.

And thus the Blind Eye members ran screaming all the way to an unsuspecting Gravity Falls...the forest burning behind them...

"Hey! Knock that off! Only you can't prevent forest fir- GAH!" Screamed Smokey the bear as Akainu rolled over him without pausing, reducing him to a pile of molten slag within seconds...

...

Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the forest a young boy grasping a spear and clad in only a loincloth swung through the vines toward his destination...

'Once I slay the multi-bear and pass my final test...I will FINALLY be a man.' Thinks Dipper Pines to himself...

Little did Dipper know he would soon have a REAL test to both his manhood...AND his life...
