CHAPTER 8

BIRTH OF A VENGEANCE

For some, the weekend passed too quickly. For those who couldn't wait until Monday, the weekend was too long. Eventually, of course, Monday came and it was time for school again. Peyton flushed the urinal and went to wash his hands before Lucas Bradshaw came out of the the stall.

Peyton's P.O.V.

I turned around, half expecting him to corner me and me having to defend myself. A part of me had hoped that's what happened... But today, he locked his lips with me so fast, I didn't realize it soon enough to prevent it... I then pushed him away.

"Get the fuck off me, you asshole!" I shouted.

"Peyton, I love you!" Lucas said, seeming desperate. "I couldn't stop thinking about you all weekend! Please... Make love to me!"

"I wouldn't fuck you if you were the last person on Earth!" I said.

Lucas snorted angrily, then punched me hard in the belly, making me lean over, holding my chest.
"I tried to do this the easy way." he said and forced me to bend over the sink, holding my neck with one arm, pulling his pants down with the other arm, then mine.

As he pulled my rear closer, my blood boiled. I couldn't wait for what came next.

"You just be a good little bitch and this will be over soon." said Lucas.
I felt his dick hotdogging me and it was enough... Enough to have the courage I never had before... He had lost enough focus that I surprised him with a claw slash to the cheek, cutting deep enough to bring out blood. I then quickly got out of the restroom, not even worrying about pulling my pants back up. I didn't quite know at the time whether he knocked the wind out of me or if he had broke something, but it hurt and passed out in the hallway, before I hit the floor...

I don't know how much time had passed before I was awake again, but I was in a bed in the hospital. Mom and dad were there.

"Oh, sweetie..." Mom said as she got up.

I then tried to sit up, but felt pain.

"Hey... Careful..." she said.

"Why... Am I here?" I asked.

"The doctor said you have a broken ribcage." said Mom.

I sighed.

"Please tell me he didn't get away with this." I said.

"That Bradshaw boy?" asked Dad.

"Yeah." I said.

"Ohhh no." said Dad. "He got hauled away to Juvie."

"Did he... Do anything else?" asked Mom.

"He tried to rape me." I said. "I sliced his cheek open when he let his guard down..." I said as tears formed in my eyes.

"I'm pressing charges." Dad said as he got up. "If the law fails us, I'll blow the fucker's head off!"

"John..." said Mom.

"Don't fucking John me, Marge!" shouted Dad. "Our son is lying in that bed right there because of that little prick!" he shouted, then stormed out of the room.

Mom sighed.

"Mom?" I asked.

"Yes, honey?" she asked.

"Are Rory and Cassie worried about me?" I asked.

"Of course they are, hun." said Mom.

"I want to see them." I said.

"I believe they should be here any minute." said Mom.

"Alright." I said.

Narrator's P.O.V.

Harlow City outskirts.

Harlow City Juvenile Livestock Correctional Facility.

A quiet Lucas Bradshaw, cheek bandaged up, sits in his cell as the warden, a goat comes.

"Bradshaw." said the warden.

Lucas looked at the warden.

"You got a visitor."

Lucas stood up and walked over, looking down as the door opens.

"Give me your hooves." said the warden.

Lucas then puts his wrists together and is handcuffed.

They make their way to the visitor area and Lucas sits. On the other side of the glass was John, who picks up the phone. Lucas then picks up the phone and answers.

"You must be Mr. Halsey." he said.

"You're damn right." said John.

"I'm sorry." said Lucas.

"You're sorry you got caught." said John. "Let me tell you something, boy. I'm gonna do everything I can to keep you locked in here. And you best damn hope they never let you loose, because if they do, I am coming for you." he said and put the phone back on the hook.

Lucas threw the phone as he saw John leave.

Back at the hospital, Rory and Cassie arrived.

"Hey..." said Cassie, then leaned down and gently hugged Peyton.

"You doing okay?" asked Rory.

"It hurts to move a certain way." said Peyton.

"Is there anything we can do?" asked Rory.

"Yes." said Peyton. "Bring me more of your delicious cooking."

"What delicious cooking?" asked Marge. "You said you were going to the mall Friday night."

Peyton sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Yes mom..." he said. "I had sex Friday night... Can we not discuss it right now?"

"Not right now, but we certainly will be later." said Marge.

"Someone please give me valerian, so I can be spared from this." said Peyton.

"Ask Cassie, ya rat." said Rory.

"Me?" asked Cassie. "Aw hell no. I ain't getting involved in this."

"Thanks, bitches–" said Peyton.

"Watch your language, Peyton Dakota." said Marge.

"Mom..." said Peyton.

"You heard me." said Marge.

The nurse, a lion came in the room.

"Alright ladies." she said. "Visiting time is over."

"Can my parents stay?" asked Peyton.

"Only one." said the nurse.

"Okay..." said Peyton.

Rory and Cassie then drove back to the Baxter household.

"I wish people like Lucas Bradshaw didn't exist." said Rory.

"He'll get his comeuppance." said Cassie.

"It just pisses me off that that piece of shit put Peyton in the hospital." said Rory.

"I know how you feel, sister." said Cassie and turned off the car. "Have you seen Rogue One yet?" she asked.

"I haven't had a chance." said Rory.

"Come on." said Cassie.

Rory's P.O.V.

We went inside to watch the new Star Wars movie and Cassie's room, sitting on the bed.

"This is very pleasantly... surprisingly... Good." said Cassie.

I kept my eyes primarily on her, desperately wanting to say what I have yearned to say all weekend. I then looked back at the screen before Cassie looked at me.

"I do like this one's style." said Rory.

"Rory." said Cassie.

"Hmm?" I said and turned my head, looking at her, noticing her looking at me, the moment seeming in arm's reach. Cassie then leaned in to kiss me... finally... I then put my hand on her cheek before disconnecting, my eyes watering.

"I love you, Cassie." I said. "I have for a bit."

"I love you too, Rory." said Cassie. "I just wish we had some alone time..." she said and smiled.

I then laughed softly.

"Don't worry." I said. "I'll make sure we do one day."

Cassie smiled.

That night, I swear, we didn't want to let our hands go.
