(Way before the Happy Hotel existed.)

Charlie has been summoned to heaven by the angels about her ideas for the redemption of her subjects. She was absolutely ecstatic. Her father however was not exactly thrilled, nor did he feel comfortable trusting the angels with his daughter. Neither did the princess's loyal partner, Vaggie, who heavily insisted she come along. Charlie, though she appreciated her protection, assured her she'd be safe.

Charlie: I'll be fine Vaggie, I promise. Besides, they're angels. I doubt they'd do any harm to me.

Vaggie: Did you forget that every year they purge and execute us? I reasonably have my doubts.

Charlie: Even so, they're willing to listen to my ideas on redemption. That's something, right? Have some faith honey.

Vaggie inhaled deeply, knowing the fact that Charlie wasn't going to be convinced otherwise. Though she was sure the angels wouldn't do anything to harm Charlie, she still had a bad feeling.

Vaggie: I don't like this.

Charlie: Trust me love, I'll be fine. I'll be home before you know it.

Charlie follows the angels, grabbing one of their hands as they descended up to the Heavens. A light beamed down on them as they were transported upwards. In an instant, there was a huge shockwave with a flash of light. Then, just as quickly as it started, it ended. Charlie and the angels were no where in sight. Lucifer scowled upwards, as if to look up at heaven itself. He kept his gaze there for a prolonged amount of time. There was dead silence, until Lilith decided to finally speak up.

Lilith: Lucifer?

Lucifer: She's finally going to find out the truth.

Vaggie looked over at Lucifer, overhearing what he was saying.

Vaggie: What??? What do you mean?

Lucifer: I truly never wanted this to happen to her, and I didn't imagine that they would actually seek her out and hear out her foolish dreams themselves. She is going to be crushed.

Vaggie was still confused by what Lucifer meant, but she now was worried about her Charlie. She looked up at the sky, as if to look to the heavens, and hoped that her lover would be okay.

Now in heaven, Charlie and the angels she's been escorted with now stand in front of the pearly gates. They were guarded by many exterminators, otherwise known as the exorcists, who heaven sends down to hell to kill demons at the end of each year. Charlie was all too familiar with these creatures, who have killed her people for many, many years. And as the gates opened, as she and the other angels stepped through, she could feel a sense of uneasiness walking past those killing machines. Her body stiffened, and she walked with caution.

Angel Escort: No worries princess, I can assure you that they are harmless. They only kill on extermination day.

One of the angel escorts reassured her, but it didn't help her feel anymore at ease.

Charlie: Where are we going?

Angel Escort: There is a grand council of angels led by God's big three archangels: Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. There, you can explain these interesting ideas of... "redemption".

The other angel escorts held back their laughter, unbeknownst to Charlie who beamed with optimism. Finally, this was her chance to finally be heard! If her own father wasn't willing to listen, she was sure that the angels would. I mean, why wouldn't they? Angels are good and understanding, right? She was sure of it.

Charlie: Where's God?

Angel Escort: Oh, he's way too busy overlooking the humans on earth. He is a very busy man, lots of work to do.

Charlie: I can imagine.

Angel Escort: Well, I think we have arrived.

They stop at a giant cathedral like building made of a peculiar dark stone of some kind. It was certainly off putting from the rest of the peaceful scenery. They walk through the big wooden doors into a giant Colosseum with seemingly higher-up angels taking up every seat. They all whispered and murmured as Charlie stood before them.

"This is Lucifer's daughter?"

"How horrid!"

"Filthy, disgusting demon."

"What does this thing want?"

Charlie noticed the amount of attention she was getting from all the angels in the audience. "They probably haven't seen a demon before," she thought. "I better make a good first impression." She waved and greeted the crowd of angels with a big smile.

Charlie: Hi, I'm Charlie! Great seeing you all! I know this probably must seem very new to you all, but don't worry! I won't bite!

The angels continued to stare and whisper amongst themselves.

Angel Escort: The Big 3 will see you now.

Angels applauded as three male archangels flew down from a blinding light in the sky, and sat on their respective pedestals in the middle of the colosseum amongst the crowd.

Gabriel: You must be Princess Charlotte, correct?

Charlie: Yes, that's correct. But you can just call me Charlie, that's what I prefer.

Gabriel: Understandable.

Raphael: So this is Lucifer's daughter?

Raphael scoffs.

Raphael: She certainly looks like it.

Charlie: Um... thank you?

Michael: I must admit, when I heard that a demon believed in redemption, I chuckled. Because that is the most foolish thing I've ever heard. However, when I heard that it was Lucifer's own daughter, then I was... intrigued.

Charlie: Well, I saw how my people were suffering every year, and I wanted to help them! So-

Raphael: You actually care about those pathetic cretans?

Charlie: I do, I know they have good souls deep down in there somewhere. I want to help them all to see that. That's where my idea comes in!

Charlie pulls a screen and a projector out of who knows where, and begins showing off her ideas.

Raphael: H-How did she-

Charlie: I was thinking of making a rehabilitation clinic for sinners, a place where demons can work towards redemption. And when they finally get redeemed and their souls have been cleansed of all sin, they can come here!

Gabriel: Here?

Charlie: To heaven! Then they'll be free from the exterminations, hell won't be overpopulated, and they can live peacefully and happy!

Sure enough, after that statement, the crowd when into a frenzy.

Raphael: You want to send those degenerate scum... here? To our safe haven?!

Charlie was a bit surprised. She thought the angels would be more accepting.

Charlie: Yes... but... by then they'd be changed for the better! I'm sure that you-

Raphael: Are you hearing this nonsense dribbling from this thing's mouth Michael? First she talks about her ridiculous ideas of "rehabilitation" and "redemption", and now she wants to send those demon scum up here?!

The crowd became more vocal against Charlie and her ideas.

"Demons cannot be rehabilitated!"

"Ridiculous."

"We don't want your kind here!"

"Go back to where you belong demon scum!"

"They don't deserve a second chance!"

"All demons are evil!"

Charlie tried to get a word in and talk over the disapproving crowd.

Charlie: Please, if all of you would just listen to me! I believe that this idea will work if you just give it a chance! Not every demon is evil, you have to believe me! Please I-

Michael: ENOUGH!

Michael's loud voice boomed across the colosseum. The whole room when silent.

Charlie: I don't get it... I thought you all would understand! You're supposed to be angels-

Michael: There is a place for the good and the bad. Heaven is for the good souls that deserve to be here. He- Ahem! "That place" is for the bad and evil souls of the world. Your kind does not belong here, nor do we want them here.

Charlie: What?! What about kindness! Equality for all! All those things that you preach for! Don't they mean anything to you?!

Michael: None of those things matter. The point is simple, good people go to heaven, bad people go... down there. That is the way it has always been and how it will always stay. That is the natural order.

Charlie: Wh- that's bullshit!

The crowd gasps in shock and terror.

Charlie: What the hell is wrong with you guys!

The crowd gasps again.

Angel Escort: How dare you use such language in front of the grand council!

Charlie did not care about making the angels upset at this point, and was furious at the council.

Charlie: This is outrageous! You all are a bunch of hypocrites! You preach peace and equality, but won't even give demons a chance to change?! You are supposed to be angels! If that's how you all feel about us, you might as well be demons!

This fueled the crowds anger and they started booing.

Charlie: Why did you even bring me up here if you were just going to reject my idea!

Raphael: If it wasn't already obvious, it was to humiliate you.

Charlie: Wh- What?

Raphael: You should be ashamed of bringing this horrid idea before us. Redemption for demons, ha! Hilarious!

Gabriel: No such thing exists for them. They're demons.

Charlie: No, you're wrong! You're all wrong, and I'll prove it! I'll prove that-

Michael: When are you going to get this fact into that thick head of yours. Demons will never be redeemed, and we don't want them here in our perfect haven. Your idea is pointless.

Tears started to fall out of Charlie's eyes.

Charlie: I just... I just wanted to keep my subjects safe... I just want the killing to stop... this isn't fair... This just isn't fair! They're already being punished enough!

Michael: Their suffering is none of our concern.

Raphael: If you ask me, they all deserve it.

Michael: Exactly Raphael. This may not be fair, but too bad. This is the way things are. Just accept it, be silent, and move on. Now get this demon out of my sight.

Charlie: You all are horrible! I will not stay silent! Our voices will be heard, you hear me?!

Michael: Immediately please, this is starting to bore me.

Charlie was pulled out by the angel escorts. The princess pulled away and ran for the pearly gates, out of heaven, and in a flash, she disappeared.

Back at Lucifer's castle, Vaggie was still waiting for her lover to return. It had become night already and she was starting to fall asleep. Suddenly, a beam of light shone down from above and Charlie descended back down to hell. Vaggie ran to her and held her in their arms. Charlie slowly hugged back.

Vaggie: So how did it go honey, did they like your idea?

Vaggie pulled away from the hug and saw Charlie's face. Her eyes were red from crying. Vaggie started to wear a worried expression.

Vaggie: Charlie what happened? What did they do to you? I swear if they tried to hurt you I-

Charlie: It was a joke, Vaggie.

Charlie said in a monotone voice, something that her lover was not used to hearing.

Vaggie: What are you talking about hun?

Charlie: They brought me to heaven, they went through all this trouble, just to laugh in my face and humiliate me.

Vaggie: They what?! I thought they of all people would understand! You wanted to do good!

Charlie: And they didn't want us "degenerate scum" to ruin their "safe haven". They're all a bunch of hypocrites. "This is the way things are," they said. Well if this is the way things are, I refuse to accept it.

There was rage and spite in Charlie's tone.

Vaggie: So... now what?

Charlie: Come next extermination, and I'll make our voices heard. This will be the last time those angels walk all over us. This time... we rebel.

And this was the prequel to my soon to be new Hazbin Hotel fanfiction series. An AU where Charlie wants more than redemption, she wants a rebellion against the angels who take the lives of her subjects each year. To finally make the demon's voices heard and force a change. Will this task be even more impossible than redemption? Will she be able to lead all demons to a brighter future? Find out in this new fanfiction series coming soon: Charlie's Rebellion.
