I preyed with my mother and members of my tribe for safe travel and return. I said goodbye to Shuri and the Dora once they escorted met to the harbor. Agent Ross was waiting like the queen said. I turned to Shuri who smiled and placed a kimoyo bead bracelet around my wrist.
"In case anything happens." she said. I smiled my thanks and hugged her.
"I'll be back soon." I assured her. We separated and I pulled my scarf over my braids and turned and boarded the boat. It was a pretty big ship, one I was not expecting if we were simply bringing me over.
"A lot of soldiers Agent Ross. It makes me nervous." I replied to the shorter man who smiled.
"They are all here for your protection Lady Eywa in case we run into pirates or any other enemy ships who may want to use your abilities for their own secret purposes. Your room is this way." he said. It was a very nice room; my luggage was already there and waiting. Of course, I made sure to go through it to make sure there was nothing hidden inside. Already tired from working earlier, I washed up and changed into one of my long black gown.
I could hear the waves in my sleep. It was peaceful. But I could tell I was uneasy as I was already up again. I sat up and stretched. As I stood up, I realized that the boat was not moving. Maybe engine troubles? I looked out the window and noticed the sun was coming up, so I got dressed in a red dress. I put my usual jewelry on and checked my hair. I had lots of hair so I usually kept my hair braided. I hear some women call it knotless braids. I left my room once I looked presentable. Men in uniforms were moving about some carrying things and others empty handed. I made my way out to the top deck where people seemed busy at work.
I saw Agent Ross speaking to someone when he saw me and approached with a smile.
"Good morning, I was just about to head your way and see if you wanted some breakfast." he said. I smiled politely.
"Good morning. I could eat. We have stopped?" I asked looking around. He nodded but waved his hand.
"Slight engine trouble. Something's got us jammed up. Got some men looking at it now. Boat stuff you know." he said. I nodded and looked around at this massive deck.
"Would it be alright to walk around. I won't get in the way." I assured and he nodded.
"Sure not a problem. You are our guest. I'll be back with a plate of food." he said. I smiled and nodded and moved over to the front of the ship making sure not to get in anyone's way. Once at the front I leaned over to look at the water below. It was calm, still happy I see. The air blew against my face, and it was nice. However, for the soldier a few feet away from me vomiting over the side, all of this must have been torture for him. I could imagine he was seasick. I approached slowly with a tilt of my head.
"Need some help?" I asked and he looked at me with strained eyes and pale skin.
"Yeah the medicine for sea sickness I was given definitely is not doing a thing. Even while we are stopped the motion sickness still gets me." he said before leaning over the side again to throw up some more. I was used to the sight of vomit, so I was not bothered. I took a step closer.
"Would you like me to help? I've never tried to heal someone of their sea sickness but maybe I can bring you some relief for a few hours?" I asked. He looked me over and nodded.
"Sure, I'll try anything at this point." he groaned. I nodded and stepped closer to him, gently placing one hand on his stomach and the other on his back.
"May I touch under your uniform?" I asked. He looked unsure at first but gave a short nod and I returned it and untucked his shirt. I placed both my hands on his stomach and back. "Even though I don't have a bowl of water, I can still give some of the water from my body to you to heal you."
"Won't that dehydrate you or something?" he asked. I shrugged.
"A little but once I get some food in my I'll be fine." I replied. He looked worried but I had already started moving some of the water from my hands into his body. I did feel slightly drained but watching the soldier's eyes grow with surprise as I soothed his insides, I could tell he was getting better. I removed my hands and leaned on the rails a bit to catch my own breath. The soldier just stood there for a second and took some even breaths. He didn't look pale anymore.
"Oh my god. I don't feel nauseous anymore! You cured me!" he said.
"Well hopefully it lasts for the rest of the voyage." I replied. We were interrupted by claps from other crew members, and I looked at them giving a soft wave. Agent Ross was among the men standing there with a plate in one hand and water in the other. I could see eggs and sausages on it. I smiled and approached him, and he handed it to me.
"Thank you." I replied and ate a little then switched the plate for the water.
"I should be thanking you. I've traveled with Agent Malloy for years and nothing seemed to get his motion sickness under control. He would have had to stay off the water if he couldn't get it under control." he said. I nodded.
"Well I hope to help many of your people." I replied. Agent Ross nodded and smiled.
"And I believe you will." he said. We both smiled and looked back at the agent who was smiling and happily talking to two other soldiers, obviously gushing at the fact he was healed. But as quickly as he was smiling and standing there, he was suddenly gone pulled overboard. Both our eyes widened as we saw the two other men who were with the agent quickly taken as well.
"What the hell!" Agent Ross yelled. Suddenly there was the gentle harmonization of singing. Now everything seemed to go still as Agent Ross quickly reached into his pockets and pulled something out. He placed two items in his ears, and I just watched as soldiers began to walk to the edge of the boat and just fall right off. My eyes widened more as blue figures began to jump on the boat.
"Talokans! Ear buds in now now!" Agent Ross yelled. Yes the sirens melodies that could lead men to their deaths. He immediately pulled out his gun and fired into the air and that snapped the remaining men on the deck out of the trance. The singing stopped Agent Ross immediately grabbed my hand and led me back inside. I could hear guns firing and yelling and shouting.
"We have to alert Queen Ramonda!" Agent Ross yelled before looking at me and squinting. "You're not wearing any ear buds!" I touched my ear immediately. He was right I wasn't. As we continued to run, my body was already starting to slow as I felt weaker now. My eyes fluttered and my feet started to give out.
"Come on, Eywa we gotta keep moving." he said. Immediately, the ship suddenly leaned to the side sharply. I yelled as we both hit the wall. Now the ship seemed to be rising now. Our bodies were sliding right back down in the direction we came from. We tried grabbing for anything we could, but it was no use. We were back on the deck that was now painted red with blood and standing were figures of blue.
I couldn't even wrap my mind around anything until I was suddenly yanked up by my feet. Now my body was reacting, and I screamed violently seeing his face in my mind.
"NO NO NO! LET ME GO!" I cried out feeling restrained. Something was over my face, specifically my mouth.
"Breathe." Someone said. What was on my face was water and that what I needed to regain my strength. I didn't inhale due to the command but to ensure my strength return and it did. I felt my entire body brought to life again only for everything around me to go dark.
"You are safe now." A voice echoed in the darkness.
