Warning: Hallutions and Mention of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Summary: A homesick Arianna discovers a mysterious totem with the power to bring instant happiness to whoever holds it, but its power threatens to tear the group apart.
Author's Note: Just so no one gets a headache trying to read this, I will put the hallucinations in italics. And, it's actually canon that Arianna was at Tirapai Island in her youth! In the book, Rapunzel's Guide to All Things Brave, Creative, and Fun by Suzanne Francis, where it talks about Arianna's Journal (page 26 of the hardback copy) there are pressed leaves with smiley faces! She displays mild autism symptoms throughout seasons one and three, so that might have been her way of recording the Lorbs! (Please don't start a war in the reviews on whether the book is canon or not.).
Arianna is walking along the beach in the morning. The tide comes in. A wooden square washes up on the beach. Huh She thinks. She kneels and flips it over. It is a black-and-white painting of a boy wearing a suit and a girl wearing a dress with a light top and a dark top. I miss Frederic. She thinks. She sees a sparkle. Huh She thinks. She goes over to it. A small, brown totem pole of Lorb faces with glowing, green eyes is in the sand. She picks it up. She sees Frederic. She gasps.
Arianna stands on the beach in front of the palm tree forest facing the group with the totem. "Hey guys, I found this on the beach this morning." She announces. She shakes it. She sees Frederic. He is actually a palm tree. She kisses the tree. Okay… Eugene thinks. He grabs the idol. He sees a pile of gold coins. He jumps in the sand. "Let me see!" Cassandra cries. She grabs the idol. She sees a man with brown hair and eyes, tan skin, wearing golden armor and bearing a silver sword, Captain. She swings her sword.
"My turn!" Lance cries. He grabs the idol. He sees a pile of gold coins. He jumps in the sand.
"Hey, let me see that!" Hook Foot cries. He grabs the idol. He sees Seraphina. He kisses her, but she is actually a shiny rock.
"Hey, give me a turn!" Sara cries. She grabs the idol. She sees a boy with tan skin, brown eyes, and black hair wearing a white suit and pants with a green shirt underneath, Matthew and a skinny girl with pale skin, wavy white hair, and red eyes, wearing a white dress and a green cloak, Gabriella. She goes to hug them, but they aren't there, so she faceplants in the sand. Varian grabs it. He sees a man with tan skin, black hair, gray eyes, rosy cheeks, a shaved beard, a red tee-shirt, brown hair vest, black gloves, shorts, and boots, Quirin. He hugs a palm tree. Natalia grabs it. She sees a gray dolphin. She dives out of her wheelchair.
Rapunzel, Catalina, and Kiera just watch. We should probably get rid of the idol. Rapunzel thinks. "Hey guys, I am going to try to dispose of the idol." She announces. Catalina and Kiera nod.
Lance is walking through the palm tree forest with the idol. He sees a web of Rapunzel's hair. Suddenly, Rapunzel comes down wearing black war paint, a crown made of green leaves, nails of sticks, and a giant, gray stone on her tushie. He screams and drops it. Rapunzel quickly takes off her disguise and grabs the idol and a small, gray stone, and runs to the top of the mountain. She sees a pile of flat, plate-sized, gray stones. She sets the idol on top of the pile. She takes the stone and smashes the idol. She walks down the mountain.
The others stand on the beach. I better apologize for all that. Arianna thinks. She approaches Rapunzel, arms crossed. "I'm sorry for all the trouble I caused." She apologizes.
"No worries, besides, it was fun to see the seven of you acting insane." Rapunzel replies. They laugh.
Arianna sits on the beach looking out on the ocean. Rapunzel comes up and sits beside her. "I know you miss Dad. But, you will see each other again in about six months." Rapunzel tells her. They hug.
