An unfamiliar ship was landing at the base. Jacen came out, his blaster prepped. It was a modified omicron-class attack shuttle, he hadn't seen a ship like that in years. The door opened and Omega stapped out. Jacen lowered his blaster, relieved. He knew she was more than capable of taking care of herself, but still worried every time she left on assignment. Omega ran over to him and hugged him tightly. Something was different. Omega was positively glowing, an effortless happiness he had never seen on her. When he set her down, four figures had come up behind her from the ship. He looked back at Omega's all-encompassing smile, and then back at the four figures.
"Is that-?" He almost didn't dare ask the question. But Omega nodded. She turned to the four people standing behind her.
"Wrecker, Echo, Tech, and Hunter" She looked back at Jacen, "This is Jacen."
"It's nice to finally meet you," Jacen said, smiling.
On the base, Omega explained how the Imperial officers had altered their records to try to hide their failure from their superior officers. Omega and the batch had both believed the other to be dead. It turned out that the batch had also found their way to the Alliance, but they worked mostly with Senator Organa.
The bad batch settled into the base on Onderon easily, and as his brothers got cleaned up, Hunter went to go find Omega. He found her in a large open room that had been transformed into a gym. Her hands were wrapped and she was punching a punching bag. He couldn't get over how old she looked. When he walked in, she looked up and held out her hand to steady the punching bag.
"Hey," Omega said, in a breathy tone from her recent exertion. Hunter realized how long it had been since they had had a conversation and he didn't know where to start. Omega seemed to understand because she said,
"Want to spar?" with a smile.
"Are you sure you're up for that?" He asked. Even though she had grown taller, Omega was still very slight, far outmatched to Hunter in strength. Omega raised her eyebrow and crossed her arms,
"Are you sure you are?" she asked, her eyes sparkling the way they always used to when she was about to prove someone wrong. Hunter just smiled as the pair walked out to the cushioned area in the center of the room. Both take a ready position and Hunter waits for Omega to strike first. Omega strikes out with her right arm and Hunter blocks the blow. But Omega had been anticipating this. When Hunter strikes at her she dodges the blow and uses her leg to hit his knees. He doesn't fall, but he does lose his balance. Omega uses the opportunity to swing her legs over his neck, bringing him down on his back on the mat. Sitting on his chest, Omega quickly slides her blaster from her holster and says a verbal,
"Bang" ending the round and securing her victory. She smiles and helps Hunter up.
"I stand corrected," Hunter says playfully. "It looks like I could learn a thing or two from you." The two smile at each other, enjoying this moment they had both been dreaming of for the past four years.
Later, Omega and her brothers were all squeezed into a small room, playing a card game they had learned on Kamino. Jacen had been called away on official alliance business so it was just the five of them. It was the most relaxed and happy the batch had been since they had lost Omega.
"There's no way you just drew those cards." Wrecker said to Tech. Then he does a dramatic gasp, "Did you cheat?" Tech looks ridiculously offended.
"I resent that accusation," He says playfully, "I am just the superior card player." He says with a smile.
"Might want to hold that last comment," Omega says before setting down her winning hand. Echo chuckles to himself while Omega has a cocky smile.
While they are cleaning up, Echo says,
"I'm so glad we found you again." Looking at Omega deeply.
"Me too." She says softly. She doesn't have to say how losing them almost broke her, they can all see it on her face. "I love you all so much, your memory is what kept me going." She then took off her left glove and stretched out her arm to reveal a tattoo of a skull with "99" inside of it. "I kept you with me, always." She said. All of her brothers had tears in their eyes. Wrecker swooped in and hugged her, the rest of his brothers not far behind. Their family was whole again.
