Summary: Rapunzel follows the black rocks to the Dark Kingdom in order to uncover the truth behind her destiny. When Rapunzel's destiny is within her grasp, she has to face and defeat the mighty Dark King to get it.
The caravan rushes down a grassy, green hill. Everyone screams in delight. It stops. Everyone gets out. Ravens swarm them. Ugg! Natalia thinks. She cries. I can stop them with my hair! Rapunzel thinks. She lassos her hair around a branch. The ravens fly into it. Rapunzel releases them. A tower made of black rocks is down a cliff. The Dark Kingdom Rapunzel thinks.
"The Dark Kingdom." She announces.
"Let's go get your destiny." Arianna, who has Demanitus on her shoulder, tells her. She grabs the Moonstone. She imagines. Is she okay? Demanitus worries. He waves his hand in front of her face. She snaps back into focus. Rapunzel, Eugene, and Arianna grab hands.
"Now, now more than ever
We must stick together
United"
Arianna sings as she squeezes Rapunzel's hand.
"Now
It's now or never
So let's face the future
Clear-sight"
Eugene sings as he squeezes Rapunzel's hand.
"Somehow we've managed to make it this far
It's been one heck of a ride"
Rapunzel sings as she squeezes their hands.
"There's nothing I couldn't do
Not with you by my side"
They sing as they jump down.
"Maybe tomorrow I'll find, to my sorrow
My story has come to an ending"
Arianna sings as she runs through a field of giant, yellow lilies.
"Maybe we're fated to be separated
Who knows where our paths might be bending"
Eugene sings as they enter a teal cave.
"How I wish we could stay here forever this way
But perhaps there's no point in pretending"
Rapunzel sings as she clasps her hands and brings them to her shoulder.
"If we're destined to head in our own different ways"
Arianna sings as she squeezes Rapunzel's hand.
"Let's make the most of these sweet final days"
Rapunzel sings as she squeezes her hand.
"Why not go out in a glorious blaze?"
They sing as they jump down a waterfall.
"'Cause now
Now more than ever
We're still here together
United"
They swim over a giant black salamander with green spots.
Arianna swims down and pets it.
"Now
It's now or never"
They sing as they swim ashore.
"So let's stand as one
Undivided"
They sing as they climb a marble statue of a warrior with an amputated arm.
"When we look at this back at this moment we had
Betcha we tremble with pride
There's nothing I couldn't do"
They sing as they jump off.
"Not with you by my side
What in the world would I do"
They sing as they land in a field of red poppies.
"Without you"
Arianna sings as she gets up.
"Without you"
Eugene sings as he gets up.
"Without you"
Rapunzel sings as she gets up.
"By my side"
They sing.
The caravan rolls down the hill and smashes. Oh no! Matthew thinks. "Oh no! All my stuff!" He cries.
"Don't worry, boy we'll go shopping first thing when we get back to Corona." His father tells him. How will we get across? Eugene thinks.
"How are we going to get across?" He questions. Arianna sees a teal wooden gondola with pink and blue stained glass. She glides across on a purple hang glider. She imagines.
"I can hang glide across.". And that sounds like how she gets destroyed. Eugene thinks.
"Absolutely not, young lady!" He exclaims.
She hang glides in the sky. She remembers.
"Eugene, I have been hang gliding since I was seven. I will be fine.". She can do it. Rapunzel thinks.
"Eugene, let her do it." She tells him. He shows her the prophecy. Oh my gosh! She thinks as she clasps her hand over her mouth. Cassandra jumps off the cliff into the abyss. Arianna imagines.
"Face it, Eugene, I am the only one of us who can get across there safely.". She has a point. He thinks.
"Okay, but be very safe.". She nods.
Arianna goes down the hill and picks up her hang glider from the pile of rubble. She climbs back up the hill and jumps off the cliff. She hang glides in the direction of the gondola. The wind bumps her and she sways to the slide. Oh no! Eugene thinks.
Oh no! Rapunzel thinks. She hang glides to the gondola. Eugene and Rapunzrl sigh of relief. She climbs down inside. She closes the door. There is a teal wooden leveler in the center. She pumps it over to the other side. She opens the door. "Here, I'll get the door for you, too." She explains. Rapunzel hugs her. Everybody goes in.
Cassandra and Lance pump the leveler. Arianna hang glides. Varian thinks. "Arianna, you are so brave!" He tells her.
"Thanks, I believe everyone has a destiny." She replies. Suddenly, a muscular man wearing a black bear hide with a big ax with a little bear paw, Edmund marking jumps onto the roof of the gondola. He cuts the ax into the roof. The gondola shakes. What's happening?! Lance worries.
"What's going on?!". I'll check it out. Eugene thinks.
"I'll check it out.". He opens the door and climbs onto the roof of the gondola. He sees Edmund. "It looks like we have a new friend.". The man cuts the ax into the roof again. They need to get out. "Everybody get out!" He announces. Eugene falls off. Arianna imagines.
"But, Eugene…" She starts.
"Mom!" Rapunzel cries. She picks her up, lassoes her hair around the wire, and swings across to the cliff. Everyone else crawls across on the wire. Arianna falls to her knees.
We need to keep searching for a way in. Rapunzel thinks. She touches Arianna's shoulder. "Mom, I know you're sad about Eugene; I arn too; but, we need to keep searching for a way in." She tells her. Arianna nods. She gets up. They move on.
The gondola falls to the bottom of the cliff. Edmund and Eugene fall off. Eugene's side hurts. Ow! He thinks. Edmund holds his ax above him. Just kill me. Eugene thinks.
"What are you waiting for? Just get it over with.". Edmund takes off his disguise.
"I am your father." He announces. What?! Eugene thinks. He looks at Edmund. He does kind of look at me. "I should've known. The cold dark heart, the soulless eyes that DRIVE ONE TO ATTACK TOTAL STRANGERS!" Eugene exclaims. Give him the glow. Edmund thinks. He turns his head sideways and raises one side of his face. Okay… Eugene thinks. "I call this the glow." He announces. "Not working? Okay.". What's this place?
"What's this place?"
"The Dark Kingdom. Come boy,". He goes downstairs.
A stained glass mural of the moon dripping down to make a palace out of the black rocks is on the wall. "Once upon a time, a single drop of moonlight fell from the heavens. This small drop of moonlight has the power to destroy the world, so it must be kept hidden from the world. According to the legend, whoever combines the Sundrop and Moonstone is screwed, beyond screwed. Don't let the same fate befall the love of your life.". A woman with dark brown wavey hair and eyes, tan skin, wearing a purple crystal necklace made from brown string, and a purple dress with a black lining laid on the floor. Edmund thinks. Arianna plans on combining the Sundrop and Moonstone, so Rapunzel doesn't! Eugene realizes.
"Arianna! She's planning on combining the Sundrop and Moonstone, so Rapunzel doesn't! We have to stop her!".
"Then let's stop her before she gets herself killed!".
Pascal is climbing on a dull purple wooden shaft in a dark tower. Suddenly, a raven, Hamual, flies into the wall. What in Corona? Pascal thinks. Hamual flies at him. Pascal blends into a stained glass window of Edmund holding up the Moonstone in front of Adira, Quirin, and Hector. Hamual flies into the window, lands on a gray pipe, and rolls through the wall. Pascal shrugs and brushes his hand together.
Everybody is at the teal double doors. Cassandra and Lance wheel a purple and brown wooden wheel attached to chains. They open. Rapunzel sees Eugene. "Eugene!" She exclaims. "I'm sorry, Rapunzel, but I can't let you in." He explains. Edmund cuts the chain with a black sword. The door crashes.
How could he do this? She wonders. He must think he's protecting her. Lance thinks. "Rapunzel, I have known Eugene my entire life, and I have never, and I mean never seen him love anyone as much as he loves you and whatever he thinks he's doing, he must be doing it for you." He explains. She nods.
An earthquake strikes. The ground opens up to reveal a lava sewer filled with black rocks. Everyone smiles. They jump down to black rocks. They jump to and from the rocks.
They arrive in a dark room with aqua statues of men and women wearing armor with a bear paw symbol on their chests. Eugene is standing in the middle of the room. Eugene! Rapunzel thinks. She hugs him. I better apologize for that. Eugene thinks. "Rapunzel, I'm sorry about that." He tells him.
"Shh, I know you were just protecting me." She replies.
Suddenly, a ghost of a man with long hair and a beard wearing a crown, shoulder pads, gloves, a robe, a sash with a bear paw symbol on it with a dark lining, and a belt with a square buckle comes out of a statue. A ghost of a short man with dark hair and a short beard, a crown, fur cloak, a robe, a sash with a bear paw symbol on it with a dark lining, and a belt with a square buckle holding an ax comes out of a statue. A ghost of a bald man wearing a crown, fur cloak, a robe, a sash with a bear paw symbol on it with a dark lining, and a belt comes out of a statue. The ghosts come to the group.
"Lance, we know everybody has a destiny. We don't know what that fate is, but we do know that we aren't going to meet it today." He tells himself. I can destroy the ghosts by destroying the statues! He realizes.
"Guys! Destroy the statues!" He announces.
He steals the ax from the ghost of a short man with dark hair and a short beard, a crown, a fur cloak, a robe, a sash with a bear paw symbol on it with a dark lining, and a belt with a square buckle. He destroys his statue. The ghost disappears. He's a genius! Eugene thinks.
"Lance, you're a genius; and that's the first and last time I'm saying that!". Rapunzel grabs the ax and destroys the statue of a man with long hair and a beard wearing a crown, shoulder pads, gloves, a robe, a sash with a bear paw symbol on it with a dark lining, and a belt with a square buckle. The ghost disappears. Arianna grabs the ax and destroys the statue of a man wearing a crown, fur cloak, a robe, a sash with a bear paw symbol on it with a dark lining, and a belt comes out of a statue.
They open the blue set of double doors with a dark exterior. The door opens. They see the Moonstone. There it is. Rapunzel thinks. She walks towards it as a blue bridge of rock forms under her. Arianna runs around and starts running to the Moonstone. Both of the young women reach it. Rapunzel sees Arianna. Does she want to be the one who combines the Sundrop and Moonstone? Rapunzel thinks.
"Mom? Do you want to be the one who combines the Sundrop and Moonstone?" Rapunzel askes. Arianna shakes her head positively. Just then, Eugene comes in. No! He thinks.
"Rapunzel! Arianna! No!" He cries.
Arianna grabs the Moonstone and puts it in her chest. She is raised. A flash of blue and yellow light comes up. Her hair turns glowing yellow and blue. Every other Sundrop in her Sundrop flower crown and lei turns glowing blue. The white columns in her dress turn glowing blue. Her eyes turn glowing yellow and blue. She is set down. An image of a red exit flashes in her head.
"I'm sorry." She squeaks out.
