Jira's Weavile was finally standing on the battlefield as his last Pokemon. Weavile's confident expression gave him hope he could still turn this around. Weavile was Jira's first Pokemon - he had some big shoes to fulfill - and was ready to, well, show what he is made of, in the final round of the Galarian Summit Tournament.

"Dracovish! I choose you!" Ash shouted, as he sent out the ancient fossil Pokemon.

" Weavile." Jira spoke. "We have a final mission in this battle. Are you ready?"

Weavile nodded. The Dark/Ice-type exercited its pressure on the battlefield and its opponent.

" Ash… Ashy. No need to worry…"

Those were Dawn's thoughts as she and her friends were looking at the two opponents with their eyes wide open. Brock noted that he never faced Weavile before, but he knew he should be just as strong as Latios was.

"It's Ash who might be in for an uphill battle."

"..."

"Battle start!" the referee shouted.

"Weavile! Swords Dance!"

"Dracovish! Dragon Rush!"

"Oh crap. I shouldn't let that thing boost. Dracovish, please be fast…"

Weavile pulled out a few swords and did a few quick figure skating moves in order to sharply increase its attack. However, Weavile couldn't anticipate Dracovish's surprising speed, which hit it at full force just as Weavile was done with its boosting technique.

"Weavile! Are you okay?"

"Weav…"

" That wasn't enough… shit. I have to confront it head-on, for fuck's sake." Ash thought.

"Weavile, wait there. Listen for its movements."

"Dracovish…"

"..."

"..."

"Wait, are you not telling it to do anything?"

"I know what you might be planning, Jira." Ash smirked. "You want to jump over and deal brutal damage with your increased attacking power."

"Is that so? Then… we're gonna move. Weavile, Night Slash!"

"Fishious Rend!" Ash replied.

The two attacks seemed to connect at the middle of the battlefield as Ash's friends were watching in angst with Serena and May holding their hands together. Goh and Brock were also carefully watching, with Goh's Cinderace making sounds for Dracovish together with Serena's Sylveon.

When the dust cleared, Dracovish and Weavile were standing on each other's sides before Dracovish began to stumble hard.

"Dracovish!!" Ash shouted.

"...Dr…"

Dracovish was somehow able to survive the Night Slash. Meanwhile, Weavile did not seem to take any damage at all. It barely dodged Fishious Rend with Dracovish's jaw missing by a few bare inches. Ash felt frustrated, but…

"Dracovish. We're giving it all, right buddy?"

"Drra!"

"That's how I know you, haha!"

"That's so him.." Misty thought.

"Let's go, Dracovish! One more Fishious Rend!"

"Weavile, use Ice Shard!" Jira replied. Dracovish ran straight at Weavile with its last strength while taking the boosted Ice Shard, before hitting Weavile at point blank, causing another explosion.

" He's done it." Goh smirked. But…

…Dracovish and Weavile once again ended up on opposing sides, this time back to their trainer sides. Weavile felt the huge pain as it felt its arm being bitten ferociously and was a little stumbling. Dracovish, on the other hand, remained immobile… while still standing…

"Dracovish is unable to battle! Weavile wins!" the referee shouted.

"Dracovish…" Ash said with his face petrified. His friends were feeling sad as well, and increasingly worried.

"Weavile… are you okay?" Jira spoke.

Weavile was huffing a little, but gave out a signal that it was still able to continue.

"Jira manages to eliminate Dracovish! Ladies and gentlemen, what a display from the two Pokemon. Dracovish deserves a round of applause for this display, standing up against the almighty Weavile of Jira, the one who can hang out with even Leon's Charizard!"

That was the voice of the announcer. Ash knew Weavile and Latios were two of the strongest Pokemon the Galar region has ever seen. Jira, being considered the fifth most powerful trainer there, was thought to be able to defeat even the Elite Four on a good day.

But Ash hasn't spent two years just to lose again in the final round. Ash was reminded of his loss in the Kalos League against Alain, when he wasn't able to eliminate a strong Mega Charizard X even with an almighty Water Shuriken from his loyal Greninja.

"This time… we're gonna be the ones." Ash thought. Even though it was a relatively small tournament compared to an almighty Pokemon League, he knew that this would be a sign of good things to come for him and his dream of becoming a Pokemon Master.

"Pikachu. Buddy… let's end the show. What do you say?"

"Pikapi. Pikaaa!"

"The climax of the Galarian Summit Tournament is here! It's Ash's Pikachu against Jira's Weavile! Although weakened by Gengar and Dracovish, Weavile is an elite level unit in this tournament! But does it have what it takes to pull out a third victory?!"

"Ash. It really came down to these two, eh?" Jira smiled.

"Yeah. A partner showdown, so to speak." Ash replied.

"That was my line, Jira, you jerk." Leon spoke from the VIP room.

"Trainers. Are you ready?" the referee said as the two trainers smirked.

"Battle start!"

"Weavile! Ice Shard!"

"Quick Attack!"

With Ash's friends

Glaceon, Emolga and Sylveon, together with Piplup and Psyduck, were watching the match apprehensively. They were mimicking the expressions of the four girls who were there for Ash, in a moment neither him nor them thought of.

The girls knew that Ash was mostly just the same person they admired once. Now that he's become a little more connected to his emotions, what came out as a surprising consequence was that it seemed to pull the girls closer to him… a little like a magnet, so to speak.

Brock, Hop and Goh were watching the match in angst as well.

Back to the climax

Pikachu and Weavile were able to dodge each other's attacks. Pikachu followed with Iron Tail as Weavile responded with Night Slash. Weavile's attack seemingly overpowered the Steel-type move because of the Swords Dance boost, sending Pikachu flying.

Pikachu was able to land to its feet as Ash instructed it to use Thunderbolt, while Jira's Weavile countered with Ice Shard from a distance. Surprisingly, possibly again due to Weavile's increased power, the two moves were able to cancel each other out.

"This is just the start!" Ash shouted. "Iron Tail!"

"Weavile, wait there." Jira said. Pikachu was getting closer and closer as Weavile was eyeing it with a careful, confident look.

"Now! Triple Axel!"

The weasel succesfully dodged Iron Tail, leaving Pikachu stuck with its tail on the battlefield, and hit it with the first hit of Triple Axel before missing the second one.

Even so, it looked like Weavile had the momentum, despite being really damaged at this point.

"Let's push forward! Quick Attack!"

"Ice Shard!"

Pikachu this time confused Weavile and its sense of direction, before suddenly striking it from the back with great force as Ash's friends were smiling.

"Oh no… Weavile! Get up, buddy!" Jira shouted.

The weasel was to its knees, as Pikachu retreated to its base. But the yellow mouse was not feeling well either. Both were huffing and puffing pretty hard.

"Pikachu! Let's finish this! Quick Attack!" Ash shouted.

Pikachu was getting closer.

And closer.

And closer.

Then Pikachu made a leap, charging towards its opponent.

And it was getting closer.

And…

"Night Slash!!"

An explosion was heard on the battlefield with Pikachu and Weavile being hit hard by their respective moves and enduring a knockback. Both Pokemon were left on the floor.

Then Pikachu got up. And so did Weavile. Both trainers smirked at each other, knowing they would fire one last move together.

"Let's go, Jira!"

"Hm."

"Pikachu! We're gonna bet it all… on this attack!" Ash said as he flipped his hat. His friends gasped and couldn't say any word.

"Weavile! Show them what you're made of! Swords Dance!"

Pikachu wrapped itself inside a powerful Thunderbolt while Weavile boosted quickly once more. Ash and Jira were ready to give it all.

"Thunderbolt!!"

"Night Slash!!"

"GOOOOO!!!" they shouted.

"..."

"..."

"We're sorry for the interruption. The current energy radiation at the Wyndon Stadium is too high for our colleagues to safely report. We will be back as soon as possible."

"..."

"..."

Ash's friends and their Pokemon, and the entire crowd, watched in silence as Thunderbolt and Night Slash were colliding. Pikachu and Weavile were at the center of the battlefield, with Pikachu's head, wrapped inside the Thunderbolt, facing Weavile's heavily boosted Dark-type attack.

"..."

"..."

A huge explosion was heard, leaving everyone in the stadium shaking. The referee and Aegislash were doing their best to endure the tremendous energy, as only the people watching live, who bought tickets, were able to watch in person and be literally blown away…

"..."

"..."

"This is Galar 2 reporting live from the Wyndon Stadium. We are sorry for the interruption. I'm sure you all wanted to not miss this moment of the Galarian Summit Tournament."

"..."

"..."

Finally, the dust had cleared, with Pikachu and Weavile standing on opposite sides. Everyone was waiting. After such a strong clash, one of them would surely fall.

"...weee…aaav."

"Pikaaa…pi?"

"...weee…"

"...piiikaa…"

"..."

"..."

"Jira."

"Ash."

"..."

"..."

"...Weavile is unable to battle! Pikachu wins! And that means the victory goes to Ash of Pallet Town!"
