Hey there, guys! Here's a Christmas-themed Quintessential Quintuplets story from me! It's been nearly two years since I got into this amazing, hilarious manga/anime! I felt it was about time I wrote a festive-themed story! Otherwise I'd have to wait a whole year before I had another chance! XD
Disclaimer: I don't own The Quintessential Quintuplets.
"Guys! Guys! Guuuuuyyyyysssss!"
Yotsuba's high-pitched shrieking voice instantly attracted the attention of her sisters, startled them all as they stopping what they were in the middle of at once.
Ichika woke up from the nap she'd been taking while Miku slammed shut the warlords history book she'd been reading. Nino pulled her gaze away from the mirror she was gazing vainly into while Itsuki dropped the meat bun she'd been munching on. Every one of them quickly burst out of their rooms, racing to where their screaming sister was to find her standing in front of the apartment door.
"What's the matter, Yotsuba?" Itsuki panted.
"Where's the fire?" Nino added, glancing all around.
"You were making a lot of noise there," Miku said in her usual quiet tone.
"Is everything alright, sis?" Ichika asked quietly.
"Everything is - awesome!"
Yotsuba swung around to face her sisters - surprising them all to reveal she had a huge smile on her face. She beamed happily at them as she raised up her hand. "Look what I just found!"
Puzzled by how their sibling was so bright and cheerful after screaming for them, the others peered towards what she was holding.
"It's-" An unimpressed frown crossed Nino's face. "It's just a letter, Yotsuba!"
Ichika sighed heavily. "Probably another bill we have to pay!"
"Nuh-uh!" Yotsuba shook her head. "This is nothing like that!"
"What are you so excited for, Yotsuba?" Itsuki asked, baffled.
"We get those all the time in the mail." Miku murmured bluntly.
"Not one like this!" Yotsuba held out the piece of paper in her hand towards her sisters. "Wait'll ya see who it's from, guys!"
The others wordlessly glanced at each other before silently agreeing to find out what was getting Yotsuba more hyperactive than usual. Ichika took the letter from her sister. She held it up for Itsuki, Miku and Nino to read with her, their blue eyes running over the hand-written message scrawled onto the paper.
Dear Quintuplets
I hope none of you have made many plans for today, because I'm sure even the five of you know what time of the year it is! That's why I'll be coming around to visit you ally. I'll be making the journey from the North Pole to visit the five of you! I'll be bringing my heavy sack full to the brim of goodies - which I will be delivering each one of you.
Trust me when I say there'll be something for all five of you!
See you later, Quints!
Santa Claus
"SANTA!" Yotsuba squealed, unable to contain her intense excitement. "IT'S A LETTER FROM SANTA! HE'S COMING TO VISIT US!"
"Santa?" Ichika exclaimed, lowering the letter as a bewildered expression crossed her face. She stared at the others, seeing they were just as confused as her by what they had read.
"A letter from Santa?" Itsuki mumbled, completely dumbfounded.
"He's coming to visit us?" Miku added, puzzled.
"Of course he is!" Youtsuba cried excitedly, pointing to the Christmas tree that stood in the corner of the apartment, decorated with twinkling lights and baubles with a golden star at the top. "It is nearly Christmas, guys!"
"Oh please, Yotsuba!" Nino scoffed cynically. "Don't tell me you still believe in that Santa Claus kiddie crap!"
"Don't say that!" Yotsuba yelled, appalled by the curse word her sister had just uttered. "You better not say stuff like that when Santa arrives here, Nino!"
"Santa is not coming here, Yotsuba!" Nino turned away with her nose up in the air, folding her arms. "Because Santa is not real!"
"Of course he is! Santa wrote us this very letter! And he's coming to see us today!" Yotsuba turned towards her other sisters for back up. "Isn't that right, guys?!"
No words of support came from the remaining three. They were far too taken aback by Yotsuba's child-like behaviour. Itsuki and Miku just hung their mouths open while Ichika chuckled awkwardly. None of them wanted any part in the heated debate between their sisters over the existence of Santa Claus.
Nino was just sniffing snootily over the child-like nature of her younger sibling - when there came a sudden knock at the apartment door. It caused all five of the sisters to jump - before being followed by a voice which made them freeze.
"Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas, Quintuplets!"
"IT'S SANTA!" Yotsuba cried, her eyes shining in delight over who was on the other side of the door. "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT, SANTA IS HERE AT OUR HOUSE!"
"Santa?!" Itsuki exclaimed, completely stumped over what she was hearing from outside the apartment - as indeed were Ichika, Miku and Nino.
"As in..." Ichika frowned. "...Santa Claus?!"
"Of course it's Santa Claus!" The voice boomed from the apartment hallway. "You five got my letter this morning, didn't you?!"
"We sure did, Santa!" Yotsuba answered ecstatically before nudging Nino as she grinned in triumph. "See, I told you Santa was coming! I told you he's real!"
"But..." Nino stared at Yotsuba in all her befuddlement, not having a clue what was going on or who was responsible for all this. "How...?"
"Well, Quintuplets!" The voice continued to bellow in a jolly was from behind the door. "Aren't you going to let me in?!"
"Oh! Yeah! Sorry, Santa!"
Without wasting another second, Yotsuba quickly unlocked the apartment door. She flung it open as wide as she could - nearly causing it to hit Itsuki in the face - as she held it open, a huge smile on her face as she prepared to let Santa into their home.
"Hellooooo, Sant-uh?!"
Yotsuba's cheerful voice cut off. Her eyes widened slightly as her ribbon twitched above her head, baffled at the sight of who was outside.
The remaining four sisters were also staring and gaping in astonishment. They were all stunned to find out who was standing in the hallway of their apartment.
Standing in the doorway was a figure in a bright red cloak. It perfectly matched the hat he was wearing on top of his head. Slung over his shoulder, gripped in his hand, was a large brown sack. He gazed around at the five sisters, smiling at each one of them.
Even Yotsuba was not the least bit deceived into believing the person she was looking at was Santa Claus. She and her sisters knew the person under the red cloak and hat only too well. Her lips trembled as she struggled to find her voice.
"U...U...Uesugi?"
"Hey, guys!" Futaro grinned at his five ditzy students. "Bet you didn't expect to see me looking like this!"
"Well, no..." Yotsuba's ribbon slackened as her shoulders sunk dejectedly. "We were expecting Santa Claus."
For a moment, there was silence as the Quintuplets observed Futaro in his Santa Claus outfit - then Ichika burst into loud laughter which was joined by soft giggles from Miku.
"Hey!" Futaro's smile faded as he frowned at the two sisters who were laughing at him. "What's so funny?!"
"That Santa Claus outfit really doesn't suit you, Futaro!" Miku tittered. "Santa is supposed to be a jolly, cheerful guy!"
"Miku's right! Santa's not a grumpy, studious sourpuss!" Ichika added. "Not like you, Teach!"
Futaro groaned, no longer putting on his merry act as he quickly reverted back to his true moody nature. "Well I had to find some way to get the five of you together for today's studying session! You're always running away from me!"
"So..." Yotsuba's gaze fell. "Santa isn't coming at all?"
"That's right, Yotsuba." Futaro nodded. "If only you could catch on as quick as that when I'm trying to teach you."
"But your letter said you were bringing us a sack full of goodies!" Itsuki said, pointing to the large bag that Futaro was carrying over his shoulder. "Was that true?!"
"It sure was!" Grinning once again, Futaro placed the sack down onto the floor before opening it up to reveal what was inside. "I've brought you all - a whole sack full of exam papers!"
"Figures!" Itsuki groaned, her hopes for a large pile of Christmas cakes being delivered to her being dashed.
"I was right!" Ichika gazed at the large pile of exam papers which the sack was overloaded with before frowning at the young man who had brought them to the apartment. "You are nothing like Santa, Futaro!"
"Of course I'm not!" Futaro grinned smugly. "Santa is nowhere near as smart as me to pull something like this off to get you slackers to work!"
Nino shook her head over her tutor's egotistical nature before turning towards Yotsuba with a smirk of her own. "I told you Santa wasn't real and isn't coming!"
Yotsuba's ribbon had completely fallen in her disappointment over being led to believe that Santa was coming to see her and her sisters, which had turned out to not be true. She lifted her gaze to the young man who had turned up instead - before her ribbon suddenly straightened upwards again as she realised where he was standing.
"UESUGI! LOOK! RIGHT ABOVE YOU!"
"What is it, Yotsuba?" Futaro asked, starting to peer up towards where the forth of sisters was pointing towards - before his jaw dropped upon seeing with horror what he was standing underneath. "WHAT THE HELL?!"
Hanging from the ceiling, dangling over the very spot where Futaro was standing having just entered the apartment - was a piece of mistletoe.
The rest of the girls had just noticed it too.
"He's standing under the mistletoe!" Itsuki cried.
"The five of us are underneath it too!" Nino repeated in disbelief.
"We are?!" Miku gasped, her cheeks turning red.
"Ohhh..." Ichika smiled mischievous towards her younger siblings. "You know what that means we have to do! Don't you, guys?!"
"OH NO! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!"
The girls averted their gazes back to Futaro upon hearing what he had yelled out at them. The blue-haired young man in the red suit was backing away, desperately trying to put space between him and the five sisters.
"Hey!" Yotsuba exclaimed, edging after Futaro. "What's the matter, Uesugi?"
"KEEP AWAY FROM ME!" Futaro swung around and began to run through the apartment. "DON'T COME ANYWHERE CLOSER TO ME WITH THAT MISTLETOE!"
"C'MON, GUYS! LET'S GET HIM!"
The quintuplets swiped the mistletoe down from the ceiling before starting to race after Futaro. Loud shouts and laugh filled the apartment as they chased him around. The Christmas tree and several decorations were knocked over in the chaos as the young man tried to keep away from the five girls who were always giving him hell.
It was an incredible turn of events. When they had first met Futaro, the quintuplets had always been running away from him and his lessons he put them through. Now here they were, all running after him instead. It felt so good for the five of them to team up and have some power over their tutor.
How the tables for studying had turned that Christmas.
Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed this story and it gave you some laughs! Have a great Christmas! :D
