The Fowler Anxiety Conclusion
Chapter Two
Lorraine and Larry Fowler weren't too sure about Amy's choice of mate, he was a bit of a funny fellow, even Amy knew that. There were too many times to count that Sheldon had let them all down. Behind their backs the rest of the family often joked that they were surprised he had made it to the birth of their children, in fact, when Amy had been pregnant with Leonard Stephen one of them had asked Amy if there were any Star Wars films due out around her due date. Fortunately there wasn't, but Amy chose not to tell them that it wasn't luck, but that planning the baby had been almost as difficult as planning the wedding.
"So, where's Amy?" Lorraine's sister, Florence, asked "I was looking forward to seeing the kids"
"I don't know" Lorraine answered angrily "I bet it's that Sheldon upsetting my baby again"
Leonard jumped out of the car and ran over to Amy and Sheldon; the car now resembled a tin can more than a car. The smell of gas and blood hit him like a wall, and he had to take a second. He could hear Harmony screaming, Stephen looked white as a sheet, but was breathing but Melody and Sheldon were silent and not moving
"Amy!" Leonard screamed "are you okay?"
"I don't know what happened" Amy cried back "it was green, I'm sure it was green"
"it's okay, Amy" Leonard stopped her "we'll worry about it later, let's just get you all out"
"Still no sign of any of them" Bernadette considered calling Penny "this is weird"
"I just called Leonard" Howard was worried too "no answer"
"that's it, I'm calling Penny" Bernadette was very concerned now, she pulled out her phone and dialled the number "oh, no answer"
Almost immediately the phone rang again. Bernadette and Howard ran out of the event hall and into the hallway
"Penny you okay" Bernadette put her on speaker phone "Howard's here too"
"Bernie" Penny sobbed down the phone "thank god, I need you to come and get the kids"
"Where are you?" Bernadette and Howard exchanged looks "Penny, what's wrong?"
"we're at the crossroads near our house, there's been an accident" Penny managed between heart wrenching sobs its bad, Howard, really bad"
"who's hurt?"
"Amy, Sheldon, Stephen, the twins" Penny let out another sob "I need you to take Elliot and the girls home"
"where's Leonard?"
"I don't know, he went to try and help"
"Okay, we're on our way" Bernadette hung up "Howard, get the kids, we have to go"
It was a good job Bernadette kept a spare pair of flat shoes in the car because she had to walk the last mile due to the traffic. They turned the corner to where Penny had told them they were, and they both had to stop. Immediately Bernadette's eyes stung with tears. Witnessing the aftermath of this accident was bad enough, how traumatising would it have been to witness the accident too?
