Damn it! Damn it! DAMN IT! Android 21 couldn't help but think in anger as her body was being destroyed by the powerful Ki attack. All that she had wanted to do was to sate her endless hunger and become more powerful.
Honestly, they were all so ungrateful.
So what if she had used clones of some of the most powerful fighters in the universe? So what if they could no longer sustain her so she went after the real thing? So what if they were living beings? They were a food source for her after all. It wasn't so different from having a farm with animals for slaughter. They were sentient yes but that wasn't really the point of it all. This was the only way that she could truly feed and they decided to destroy her for it.
The nerve of some people.
Speaking of being destroyed though, 21's charred body hit the ground with a heavy thud. She couldn't really feel anything at all but she knew that she only really had her head, body, and a single arm left. There were no energy signatures close by her so she must've been blown away instead of being completely vaporized. Normally she would have been able to regenerate from something like this but this was not a normal circumstance.
"I SWEAR THAT I'LL EAT THEM ALL!"
"Will you now?" A female voice said. 21 tried to look towards the source of the voice but she couldn't really see all too well. The only thing that she was able to make out was the shadow of a pair of heels that must belong to the woman and a pair of boots belonging to a man. And was that the end of a staff? She couldn't tell because her vision was getting darker by the second.
If I could move, I could eat them to regain my strength.
"I wouldn't mind helping you get your revenge but I would need you to do something for me," 21 could hear the smugness in her voice because the woman knew that 21 would accept it.
"Fine," 21 replied without much thought to it. "I'll play your game if I can get back at them."
"Mira, pick her up." 21 couldn't feel the arms that grabbed her nor could she see the light that surrounded them. "Now let's do something about that hunger of yours," was the last thing that she heard before she passed out.
For Mustafa City, it was an ordinary day. People were going about their business, children played, Villains did illicit activities and Heroes would stop them. Nothing out of the ordinary in a world filled with Quirks. And for one Midoriya Inko, it was a great day.
Inko was finally able to get out of the house with her husband Hisashi, who was finally able to come back home from his work, and their son, Izuku. Izuku was only a few months old and hadn't been able to see much of the outside world yet beyond the occasional grocery store run or walk to the park. So to say that this was a special occasion for Inko would be an understatement.
She let out a content sigh as she leaned into her husband, who had Izuku on his lap and tapped his foot repeatedly to bounce him. Currently they were in a park near city hall after a whole day of just doing everything and anything together as a family. And more specifically, they were on a park bench that was right beneath some trees that provided shade from the waning sun. It wasn't quite sunset yet so the shade was nice to block out the direct rays from the sun.
I don't think anything can put me down right now, Inko thought as she closed her eyes.
And thus she tempted Fate.
"What's that?" She heard Hisashi ask.
But before she could open her eyes or even ask him about what he was talking about, a flash of red and pink energy so bright, that she saw it even with her eyes closed. And it was all that she saw for several seconds. It was accompanied with a force that felt like she was getting hit by a truck and heat that was burning her skin off. If she could hear, she was sure that her scream would be cut off by the sound of an explosion of some kind.
And just as suddenly as it appeared, it had ended.
Inko was finally able to open her eyes to look around her and saw nothing but a wasteland of the Earth torn apart in several places and upturned completely in others. Some of it was still flying around as dust and made it difficult to see beyond a certain distance. Broken trees and buildings that were close to the park littered the wasteland alongside dozens of people in all sorts of conditions. A good number of them screamed out for help. Others didn't, or couldn't. It was hard to say if those were the lucky ones or not.
But none of that mattered as soon as she heard the familiar crying noises of her child that were close to her.
"I.. zuku..." Inko tried to get up from her spot on the ground but quickly found that she couldn't move her body at all. When she took a look at herself, she understood as for why. Right in the middle of her stomach was a large piece of what used to be a bench. "...oh."
It might have been shock that prevented her from feeling the pain. Or maybe she was already dead and her mind hadn't caught up yet. Regardless, Inko knew that she probably should be feeling pain right now and should be screaming for help. But she didn't.
The sound of dirt being crunched caught her attention. Is that.. A Hero? Please let it be a Hero. Surely the Heroes would save her and her family. So Inko used all of her strength to look in the direction of the noise. The outline of a person is what she saw through the flying dirt and Inko couldn't help the tears that were brought to her eyes at the sight of them. The outline appeared to be unharmed so it had to be a Hero. No one else who was here should be able to walk after whatever happened here tore the park and surrounding area apart. We're saved! Don't worry Izuku, we'll be sa-
Inko's heart sank as the person who she saw walk out from the dust was not a Hero at all. It was a woman who was covered in dirt and bruises all over her body. Her lab coat was in tatters and the red & blue checkered dress she wore underneath was covered in dirt, mud, blood, and was torn in different areas. She clutched her right arm like it was broken somewhere and held it close to her so that way it wouldn't move. Her wild auburn hair looked like it had seen better days and her pale, ice blue eyes scrunched in pain and blood was running down her left eye from an injury of some sort. And most importantly, the woman didn't seem to notice her at all.
"P-Please... wait..." Inko voiced as loud as she could while using what little strength she had to lift her arm. That seemed to catch the woman's attention as she walked over to her. It didn't take long for the woman to reach her and Inko knew that she probably wouldn't make it. "Please... my husband... and son... do you... see them?"
The auburn haired lady took a quick look around and asked "Does your son have a darker shade of green hair then you?" Inko nodded her head in response, not really thinking that the woman before her wasn't looking at her. "Your son looks fine, considering what happened. But your husband..." The lady looked away. "I'm sorry." That caused Inko to cry even harder than before. She raised her hand and the auburn haired lady kneeled down to grasp it gently.
"My son... Izuku... ple...ase..."
21 placed her good hand on the green haired lady's eyes and gently closed them. "...I'm sorry." She guiltily looked away from the dead woman and moved to where her husband and child were at. The man had shielded the small child with his body and had several pieces of debris sticking out of his body. But the rebar that went through his skull was what made it clear that the man was no longer among the living.
The small child though, Izuku, had a healthy pair of lungs on him. Thanks to his father he only escaped with some bruises and small cuts across his body. Most of it would be healed but the cut under his eye might scar. 21 picked up the Izuku in her arms and tears started to fill her eyes.
"I'm sorry," she repeated to him. "This is all my fault." 21 fell to her knees and sobbed as she hugged Izuku close to her body. She didn't know how long she stayed like that but a large energy signature that was closing in fast got her attention real quick. Before she could even move, something large crashed into the ground near her.
"It's fine now. Why? Because I am here!"
21 looked up to see a behemoth of a man who was comparable in size to Android 16. His golden hair was mostly swept back and two tufts of hair were sticking up like antennas near his forehead. But the strangest thing about this man was what he was wearing. It looked like a spandex suit primarily in blue with areas of white highlighted in red. Near his wrists and up halfway of his forearms was colored in yellow. His boots that ended halfway up his shins were also yellow in coloring. And a big and reassuring, toothy smile was plastered across his face.
The shock must have been evident on 21's face top the man because he quickly knelt down and placed his large hands on her shoulders. "Do not worry Ma'am, I shall get both you and your son to safety to be healed."
"He's... not my son," 21 said rather hesitantly. She looked at the man's body and then to the woman's body. The man understood what she meant and could only nod back to her in response.
Regardless though, the man picked her up in a princess style carry and leapt to an area where a crowd had started to gather at. Before they started to fall though, she could see more people in strange looking costumes along with various Human-type and Beastmen. And she was pretty sure she might have seen a walking plant person or two. There were many other humanoid creatures that piqued her interest as a scientist but no one really held it because of how many different Earthlings there are. But something told her that this wasn't the Earth she was from.
As soon as the tree landed, camera's started flashing and news crews swarmed them. A handful of the people in colorful costumes tried to keep them back while the rest went into the area that was destroyed to look for more survivors to save. 21 knew that they wouldn't find many if they weren't fast enough. She could feel their energy waning but not quite fading yet. She bit her bottom lip out of frustration and guilt as more tears threatened to come out for what she did.
The behemoth of a man set her down gently and she vaguely heard one reporter say something in the background.
"...now All Might has just returned with his first rescue from the mysterious explosion."
2 DAYS LATER
"So your name is Vomi Ma'am?" A young man in a blue, long sleeve jumpsuit asked. He was one of the dozens of government workers sent to aid in the investigation of what had happened. While the investigation was being handled by the Police and, what she later found out what those costume wearers were called, Heroes, this man was one who was sent to aid the general populace and those who had survived the 'mysterious explosion.'
"Yessir," 21 replied with sincerity in her voice. While it was true that she had once been named Vomi when she was a human, she didn't believe that the man needed to know that she was a type of bio-android now that went by a number for a name.
"No family name?"
"None that I can remember."
"And that you're an aspiring scientist?" He asked reading off of some notes he had of her so far.
"Apparently I was, yes." The man looked to the bandage that was on her head.
"You have one hell of a healing Quirk to survive that explosion. Shame that it couldn't protect your memories though," he said as he let out a sigh.
Quirks. That was something that truly was itching at her nature of a scientist. 21 ha quickly pieced together that the Quirks people mentioned were what allowed people to essentially bend the laws of nature to their whim. They obviously had to come with some sort of drawback, like making one too exhausted in some form from overuse. She'd have to do more research on it later though. Having a "Quirk" is what allowed her to explain as for why she was healing right in front of people. It really was a convenient excuse.
"Unfortunately," the man continued. "There are no official records of your existence. You can thank the explosion for wiping Mustafu City Hall off the map and any records and backups they might have had of the residents in this city." He set down his notes and looked at her directly. "I'm going to be honest with you Ma'am, it may have been Midoriya Inko's last wish for you to look after her child bu-"
"Izuku," 21 interrupted him. "His name is Izuku."
"I apologize," the man replied professionally. "It may have been her last wish for you to look after Izuku, whether that was meant to be for the time being to get him to safety or until he was of age, none of us will ever now since she is dead. Neither she nor her husband had any living relatives that our records show nor did they have a will planned out of what to do in case of an emergency due to their young age." The government man couldn't help but sigh and look away from her in a downcast sorrow for a few moments. "And your lack of records mixed with traumatic amnesia make it difficult if you truly wish to take care of him."
"How long would it take to get the paperwork done?" 21 couldn't help but ask. And it was easy for her to see the smirk that the young man was trying to hide.
"It's a good thing we already got started on it isn't it?"
21 gently smiled at the man. "Yes, yes it is."
"But we will need a family name still."
That gave 21 pause for a second. It wouldn't be right to do what she was about to do and she felt guilty for even thinking of it. But it was both a form of repentance on her end and so young Izuku would still have a tie to his family.
"Midoriya. Midoriya Vomi."
Well this is a new story I'm trying out. I'll do my best to update this weekly but this will also be me doing my best to get back into the habit of writing. Word count for each chapter will be as close to 2,500 as possible for the minimum. So don't expect super long chapters. Nor is this preplanned and the chapters are just gonna be made up as I write them... for the most part. So feel free to point out if I make inconsistencies.
I was playing Fighterz recently and was reading a DBZxBNHA crossover and was kinda inspired by both. But I did wanna try something kinda new, I wanna keep the MC as a human and not as a Saiyan or Saiyan hybrid.
Why?
Because it's kinda overused. And as a triclopes once said. "Fuck Super Saiyan. Fuck Power Levels."
But yes, this is a story of Android 21 adopting Izuku. 21 Might seem OoC for a bit but that will be revealed as for why soon.
Read, review, and enjoy.
Stay Frosty,
SP4R
