At the dinner table with the parents and Grandma Mazur:
Stephanie! You need to stop hanging out with those thugs. Joseph says they are mercenaries and kill people for money.
That got Stephanie rile up, so she coldly looks at her mom, having enough of her constant harping, and quietly points out:
"Mercenaries kill people for money"
So what? At least he only eliminated those the government deems as threats to the nation (domestic or international) and not go berserk and shoot at random people like the high schooler who shot up an entire elementary school.
What's the alternative? The criminals run free so drugs and diseases run amok? How would your perfect little world be then? You'd be shouting "why me, no one else's neighbor got ODs next door or something that other people could catch!" Newsflash, it could be way worse if there were no people like the Merry Men!
Someone has to do it, Ranger and the Merry Men has been trained and skilled for taking care of things behind the scenes.
Figure it this way, you want your kid to OD on impure coke or heroin? Guess who manufactures it and distributes it internationally? You want them gone right?
Same thing
Who takes care of the people doing bad? Police right? Well, those in the military has higher clearances and bandwidth to move. Don't be ignorant of that.
Open your eyes and Listen.
You never really care how things are taken care of at crime scenes, you just want it over with so everything can return to normal right? Police have to do that. You just care that the end result, you can go about your day.
The Merry Men do that all behind the scenes, so you don't get to see it. But make no mistake, things are done to keep you safe. So you have no right to keep harping on these men who sacrifice so much silently and with no expectations of recognition or acknowledgement doing what you can't fathom doing. Get out of your own head and at least respect them enough not to call them thugs and murderers.
Stephanie gets up and kisses her dad on the cheek: thanks for dinner but I think I'm full. See you guys later.
She walks out the door and drives to Rangeman. Hugs each and every Merry Men in the office. Ranger was at his office door and when she reached him he gave her a long hug. After she gathered enough to let go of the hug, he guided her to the elevator to seven.
Done!
