"You think I was afraid fleeing Brennenburg? Quite the contrary. I knew it was my purgatory - hellfire made to wash away my sins."
"Do you like it, Alexander?" Daniel said in the fog. He and the baron beside him looked out over the rails on the ship they were sailing in and standing on together. The baron looked and squinted.
"I cannot see a thing." He grumpled. Salty air blew through his silvery hair, also obscuring his view.
Daniel laughed. "You'll bloody have to get used to London fog, my love!"
After all this time, the Baron of Brennenburg was still charmed by the Englishman's laugh. So many years of his life had been spent without laughter, and Alexander drank in the merry sound greadily.
The baron turned to watch Danile laugh, watch his face too. That sweet, sweet sound was his salvation…His love. He'd come all this way just to stay with that love. That love…had led them here...to England. That love…had conquered so much.
~~~~~~le flashback~~~~~
All was warm and joyous that morning after he and Daniel had done their passionate deed. Alexander promised he would celebrate Daniel forever, and he meant it. Starting now that celebration would begin. hE Would love him for eternity. The appreciation and worship would forever goo on.
Plus, he would get his fill of sexual exhilaration as often as he possibly could. Last night had been extraordinary. (a/n: IF YOU DIDN'T READ THE LAST FIC, it was preeeeeettty steemy :3 IF YOU HAVE INNOCENT EYES DO NOT READ IT! XD XD)
Alexander cradled his love against his chest, so small and yet yet so so sstrong…so important.
I have found a love, he thought. Passionate love. A love that penetrates me in my soul. I never thought I would find it again. Yet here, in this bed with this British person, I am happier than ever. I'm more rested than I've been in years.
That peace, that serenity, quietude…there was something odd about it. Something too odd.
"Grrmm…Alexander…?" Daniel mumpled as he rubbed his eyes. "Where are you going?"
Alexander had stand up, and his naked body turned around to look around. Something was wrong. No, not wrong. Different.
The naked baron compelled himself to the window. So mething called to him there—like intuition or a knowing. When he came to the glass, he looked it. He stared a long while before his lips made sound.
"Daniel…"
"Alexander?"
All was still. Both men did not speak at all.
"Do you feel that?" Alexander spoke at last.
Daniel was about to ask what it was, but he stopped before he asked. He did feel something. He felt an easiness of breathing, and like there used to be a presshure on him that was gone. The air was…lighter. The room itself looked…brighter. Brighter than it ever usually looked during the day. Usually Brennenbyrg Castle had a dank, gloomy heir to it no matter what time of time. Now things looked…warm? Sunlit? Full of life?
And Daniel felt full of life, too, which felt also different. Daniel felt…free.
Could it be? He thought. Then he pushed the thought away No, bloody not…but the thought pushed back!
"Alexander, do you think?—"
But Alexander wasn't liustening to Daniel. He was still at the window, looking out into the forest below. DAniel watched him, watched his body in the sunlight. (a/n: Nuuu don't b shy stare all you want Daniel ( ͡• ͜ʖ ͡•))
He shivered beneath the sheets when the baron next spoke.
"The signs of The Shadow have…vanished." These words were low, hushed…disbelieving. "The insidious mist has lifted. The nefarious red puss is no more."
Daniel couldn't believe what he was hearing. "But…but what does it mean?"
Piercing, beautiful, hard eyes met Daniel's and silenced him.
"We conquered it, Daniel. The Shadow has been defeated."
Daniel lay there stunned. His voice felt dry. His hands shook.
"We did? But how!? We've sacrificed so bloody much and never made any progress. We studied, we worked hard. We put blood, sweat, and tears into holding it off!"
Alexander jumped on the bed and grabbed Daniel by the shoulders.
"Don't you see, Daniel? We were wrong. I was wrong. The Shadow couldn't be conquered through blood and suffering. It had to be taken down by…by…"
"Love." Daniel finished for him.
In the next second, their lips rammed into each other. They kissed hard. And when they broke, tears were in Dasniel's eyes.
"I just can't believe it…" he choked. "So many days and nights conjecturing if it would be my last. Can it be? Alexander, is it really true? Am i…am I…"
"You're freee, Daniel." The barn whispered. "WE both are."
In the next minute Daniel's back was back on the bed. The baron pounced over him, and growled needily. Ferocious kisses landed on Daniel's neck. The English Man cried with joy and pleasure. Their bodies became closer and closer. They thrust.
Daniel moaned and sighed. Alexander himself became emotional, and teared as they passionately were one.
"I can do anything…" Daniel whimpered, joyfully and with relief. "We can do anything, Alexander. We call fill our days with anything we like. We can hunt. We can drink and paint and go on rides…we can ride off every day and…"
"We could leave Brennenburg." Alexander finished. The boy under him gave him a look.
When Daniel looked at him that way, he knew that was what deep down, he wanted most of all. It was what they both needed….
…a fresh start.
