Eleos: Watcha think she's gonna do for this doc?
Anaideia: I bet Johnny's gonna die.
Johnny? Why would I...
Anaideia: Hush hush, don't ruin my dreams
I'm glad to have such a kind devil on my shoulder...
Eleos: Don't forget about me! *Pushes Anai away*
You just met Anaideia and Eleos. My good and evil angels. They will influence the story as they whisper in my ear...
PONY POV
I woke up groggily, not expecting the shout right next to me. Somehow the words fell on deaf ears. Gee Pony, write a poem.
"What?" It was Soda's gentle voice, and him making an attempt to raise an eyebrow like Two-bit. Did I say that out loud? Shaking my head I sat up, only to find myself gasping in pain.
"Careful!" A rough hand pushed me down. Darry. I nodded, feeling oddly quiet now before looking around at my surroundings. It was home, I was home. I had every reason to be home though, right? I mean... I went to school like... like I always... Tears were now brimming my eyes. I would've cried too if it weren't for Two-Bits head peaking around the corner. I 'ought to be tough. I knew that much at least.
"Pone...We didn't want to take ya to the hospital because of Social Services. But if you need to go-" Darry was cut off by my stubbornness. I needed the distraction though. Even if part of it was due to my dread of hospitals.
"Johnnycakes gonna turn 17 soon huh? It's been a year since that Soc died, y'know? Luckily he can walk.. we all thought he'd be paralyzed. Now he's gonna be 17. Imagine that. We 'ought to throw a party, y-y'know? We- we gotta." My voice was weaker. I knew why. It kept fading when I talked, got hoarser, and I was losing my voice now.
"Well, 'course we will. And we can make some delicious cake!" Two had run over from his place at the corner, grinning. Soda just about smacked Two-bit, like he was pissed or something. I just smiled back, nodding my head. Darry looked relieved though as Two-bit lowered himself to the floor.
"C-cho..o.." My voice gave away, and I looked sadly at the ceiling. Don't think about it. Don't ask yourself why you lost it. Don't remember the screams. The taunts. Words. Pain. No, don't think... don't think of the way he felt...
"Yeah, chocolate cake." Soda finished for me, clipping off with a sob.
Third POV
Pony hadn't come out of his room since last week, only because he was on the couch at the time. This worried the two brothers, carrying food over to his room, and bringing it back with a bite or two taken. Dally didn't even turn on the radio, which was the only indication of his worry.
Currently, he sat on the couch, legs spread out, and newspaper in hand. Two-bit had his arm around Steve, whispering to him and slipping something that looked a lot like money directly into Steve's pocket. Steve just shrugged and stretched, faking a yawn.
"I'm gonna go breath some fresh air," Soda rolled his eyes at his best bud. They all knew he was gonna count that money, and even as the gang's stares fell on the giddy Two-bit, his smile didn't waver. It felt like only moments later when the door opened gently, alerting them to Johnny's presence. Steve trailed behind him, apparently having just spoken with Johnny as Pony's friend glanced down to his room.
"Should I...?" Johnny nodded his head towards the closed door. The brothers glanced at each other before Soda smiled softly.
"Yeah, maybe having you 'round will get him to eat." Johnny didn't look so convinced though.
"'m not so sure.." He shuffled his feet before making his way to Pony's room. The door shut behind him. The entire gang immediately stood, even Dally as his indifference was overrun with curiosity, Two already had his ear pressed against the door. Everyone except for Darry.
"Get. The hell. Back." He grabbed Two-bit and Soda by the collars, just about dragging them to the living room. Dal shrugged along with Steve, lighting a cigarette and handing Steve one. Steve just nodded, putting it over Dal's lighter before bringing it back to his mouth for a long drag.
The door opened again, shutting loudly. Pony stopped in his tracks, an eyebrow raised at the wrestling mess in front of him. Darry had both Two and Soda in a headlock, shouting 'Hollar uncle'.
"NO!" Soda grinned at Pony, winking and slapping Darry on the side of his head. Though, where he did it was directly where Two would've had to reach, and Darry slammed Two harder into the ground.
"Wasn't me!" He thrashed wildly before Steve rose up. He took the newspaper Dal had set aside and thunked Soda on the head.
"Time to go, get up before Evie thinks we stood them up." Darry let go of them both, slinging an arm over Pony's shoulders. Soda looked longingly over at Pony.
"You wanna come with us?" He said, toying with his thumbs like a shy kid. Steve rolled his eyes, groaning.
"Not today, 'sides, I got Two tah hang out with." Pony just about shoed Soda out the door, catching something that sounded like a complaint and "blind date".
"Soda's gotta date?" Pony questioned, smirking. Darry nodded, only just breaking his look of silent thanks to Johnny before turning to the kitchen.
"Yep, Steve set it up." His voice grew louder as he took down a few plates.
Tell me what you think! Who's your favorite, Andei or Eleos. What about OOC? I'm reading your reviews to better suit your thoughts, and YES I do know not much was said by Pony. But I can't just jump into his problems without giving context to any other part of the gang's life. Give me ideas for the next chapter and I'll choose one! (sorry for the short chapter)
