The Unified States of Eastern Eurasia, officially also known as Usea, was created following the disintegration of the USSR in 1954 after a power vacuum. The new Usea adopted a form of government and economy resembling that of the United States. Usea consists of the states of Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. Quality of life rose dramatically following the change in government and economic system. Amicable relations were eventually built with the Western nations.
Usea and USA, despite friendly ties, competed in military power due to each having excess resources that could be funneled into their militaries and held military exercises every three years to simulate their weapons against each other, both being near equals to each other. The world had entered an unprecedented era of near-total peace, so the chosen way to maintain military technology progression was to fight simulated wars (essentially supersized exercises with no limitations except for MAD weapons).
Very little information is actually classified and nations regularly cooperate to help with technology development. Both Usea and the United States had reached a point where the term superpower was insufficient; the term hyperpower would be more appropriate for each nation if not for the other being equal in power.
Notes:
- Usea has actually competent weapons that can compete on equal terms with the America of the story timeline, unlike IRL Russia and IRL USA. A lot of weapons will be made up (since development is faster in this timeline and it's in the future), and others that share names with IRL counterparts will also be similar to them, though have improved capabilities to some degree because Colonel Corruptovitch was imprisoned and technology is more advanced at the point of transfer.
- Some portions will be basically copy-pasted from the original source as well as other fanfics since those sections won't have significantly different events. Of course, as changes begin to build up, the story would become more original.
- I don't know politics and stuff very well, expect unrealistic BS.
- I do not condone IRL Russia's actions.
- I wrote this because I wanted to throw eastern weapons and fictional/unbuilt weapons into the NHS world. This will also include rather unnecessary superweapons, but they're cool so I'm including a few anyway.
