- limited stealth capabilities (only two small internal weapons bays, each carrying either a pair of IR missiles or a single ARH missile at most)
- interceptor (P) variant has modifications to increase speed, acceleration, and missile capacity at the cost of range, stealth, and maneuverability
- developed from the 1.44 project, initially resulting in an unsatisfactory and thus canceled design (resembling IRL J-20), before being further developed into the MiG-41
