Qua Toyne Navy East Fleet

Water splashed against the hull of the Leviathan as Captain Arzhel adjusted his telescope and searched the horizons for Lourian warships. One of his lieutenants tapped Arzhel's shoulder.

"Captain? I spotted several strange islands towards the east."

"Strange. There shouldn't be anything out that way. We should investigate it."

As the Leviathan sailed closer, the "islands" became clearer, showing their metal glint and angular appearance. Arzhel frowned. "These aren't islands, their shapes are much too unnatural. I think these are massive ships. They are approaching surprisingly quickly as well."

He could now see that the ships had no sails, yet they had closed the distance in a mind-bogglingly short amount of time. Arzhel analyzed the fleet, noting the two sets of absolutely massive twin cannons, each set in an even larger housing on the lead ship, the large steel "houses" on all the ships that he had previously mistaken for masts and sails, the various spires and lights, smaller guns of various sizes, and the numerous tubes on the ships, and the flat deck of one of the longest ships in the fleet. The flat ship lowered a platform and humans on it waved toward the Leviathan, inviting the Qua Toynians to get on. Arzhel observed the men, who wore a blue patterned uniform and a green vest and had no apparent armor. Some of the humans also held a strangely shaped black musket, angled toward the side, and stood tall and still like statues. A large, brightly-lit hollow beyond the platform contained several large metal crates and some winged objects. Was this a cargo ship?

The platform ascended with a groan and a screech, and when it reached the top, Arzhel was amazed at how large the deck really was. More winged objects were organized on the edges. The deck was easily large enough to host jousting matches. To the side, there was the same steel house that was seen on other ships, where several men emerged from. Some of these also carried the same black muskets, and two of them exuded an air of authority. Both lead men, one with a dark suit, the other a white uniform, had the same strange pin, a dark blue stripe over a yellow stripe, a vertical green band bisecting the stripes, and three red stars arranged in a triangle over the center. The man in white also had a number of other pins on his jacket.

"Men, stand beside me and present yourselves as honorable sailors of Qua Toyne!" Arzhel ordered his guards.

Arzhel walked forwards. "Greetings, I am Captain Arzhel of the Leviathan of the Qua Toyne Navy East Fleet. You have entered our waters and we would like to know your vessel's affiliation and intention."

The dark-uniformed man relaxed slightly. "Oh good, we speak the same language. I'm Ambassador Sergiy Kravchenko," as he walked forward to shake Arzhel's hand.

The other man smiled. "I am Admiral Stanislav Vyhovsky. Welcome aboard the aircraft carrier Poltava, Captain Arzhel."

"As for our affiliation, we are from the Unified States of Eastern Eurasia or just Usea." Ambassador Kravchenko reached into his suit pocket and showed a map of Usea.

Captain Arzhel was dumbfounded. "I have never heard of a nation named Usea. And this land is huge! If it's this close, how come we've never discovered it?"

"We believe we were transported here. A bright flash was seen by, we assume, everyone in our nation, and suddenly we were on this planet. Also, what is this planet called?"

Arzhel thought about it. "I don't believe we have a name for the planet. More civilized countries like Mu or the Parpaldian Empire may have an answer. Anyway, what is your intention of coming here?"

"We intend to establish contact with civilizations on this new planet, such as your 'Qua Toyne', and form diplomatic relations. Yesterday, we sent out a reconnaissance aircraft, the Il-38R, to explore our surroundings. We sincerely apologize for the intrusion of your airspace."

"I see. Please excuse me, I must report this to my superiors."

"Of course, Captain."

The admiral of the East Fleet hurried into the conference area unannounced. Normally, such an action would be unthinkable, but this was an urgent matter.

"What's wrong?"

The admiral cleared his throat and gave his report, which was as follows:

This morning, off the east coast of Qua Toyne, a fleet of massive metal ships, ranging from 150 meters to over 300 meters in length, appeared. They claimed responsibility for the intrusion of our airspace, emphasizing that they had no hostile intentions and were merely attempting to find their bearings. The envoys aboard one of the ships claimed to be from a country called the Unified States of Eastern Eurasia or Usea and that their nation was transferred to this world. Their objectives are as follows:

- They sincerely apologize for the unlawful intrusion, as they were unaware of the existence of our nation.

- They wish to conduct diplomatic talks with our nation.

After the outrageous report, the room erupted into chaos. Eventually, as the members calmed down, they considered what they knew. It was undeniable that there was an intrusion on their airspace and that a fleet of giant metal ships was witnessed by many sailors. The government of Qua Toyne agreed to meet with this "Usea".

Back in Usea, contact was reestablished with satellites, which had new orbits around a planet larger than Earth, but possessed similar characteristics despite the larger size. All non-Usean Earth satellites seemed to have vanished, but new satellites of an unknown party were detected in orbit. Available satellites mapped out what they could of the new world while new satellites were prepared for launch. All Usean travelers outside Usea were teleported to a location within Usea while foreign travelers in Usea were teleported to their homes back on Earth. Overseas assets belonging to Usea were transferred alongside Usea as islands close to the mainland. Much of the military assets in the east were transferred to the west, as the east was largely empty while most foreign lands were concentrated in the west. President Markov made a speech to explain their strange new circumstances to the people.

Prime Minister Kanata looked skywards as he heard a thumping noise, as if a squadron of wyverns were flapping simultaneously. As the sound grew louder, he saw the source of the thumping: flying contraptions the Useans called "helicopters".

As the helicopters slowed and hovered above him, Kanata stepped back as the helicopters descended. The wind blew leaves everywhere, only ceasing when the spinning blades of the helicopters stopped moving.

A man in a dark suit exited the front helicopter, flanked by guards holding strange black muskets. "You are Prime Minister Kanata?" He asked.

"Yes. And you are Ambassador Kravchenko from Usea?" He walked up to shake the ambassador's hand.

"Yes. Glad to meet you, Prime Minister," Kravchenko replied. "Shall we head inside to continue?"

The group headed inside the conference building and took their seats at the table, where several other Qua Toynian officials sat. "Let us begin the first diplomatic discussion between the Principality of Qua Toyne and the Unified States of Eastern Eurasia! Ambassador Kravchenko?"

Kravchenko stood up. "First, thank you for receiving us kindly and setting up this meeting so quickly. I would also like to reemphasize our apologies for the prior intrusion."

The officials nodded. "We accept. Now, we would like to learn more about your Usea. Who exactly are we having diplomatic talks with?"

Kravchenko opened up his briefcase and pulled out several copies of documents. "These papers contain basic information about our country and a summary of our circumstances in this world."

The Qua Toynian officials picked up the documents, only to realize that the text was completely foreign to them. "Ambassador? We can't read any of these texts."

Kravchenko frowned. "It seems we are capable of speaking the same language but we use different writing systems. I suppose we will have to rectify this for future meetings. For now, I will continue with an oral presentation."

He motioned for his security detail to set up a projector. "This device is a projector. It shines a patterned light onto a flat surface which will show an image on the walls of this conference room." The Qua Toynians were impressed with the quality of the image, clearer than the few magic displays they possessed.

The projector showed an image of a huge continent, roughly the size of the Philades Continent to the north. The continent was some distance to the east, and slightly north of Qua Toyne. Surrounding the continent were some small islands, largely concentrated on the east side. The continent had three regions, the largest one designated as "Russia" and two smaller regions on the west side designated as "Ukraine" in the south, closest to Qua Toyne, and "Belarus" in the north.

The Qua Toynians stared at the incredibly detailed map. "How do you produce such a map?"

"This map is created using satellite imagery, but that will be a discussion for another time. Usea has an area of 17.9 million square kilometers and boasts a population of around 271 million. However, a large portion of the land in Russia is unpopulated and unproductive due to permafrost in our old world."

"I thought this was an official meeting? You intrude in our airspace and then tell us jokes that such a large continent exists in that direction. There is only open ocean out there!" exclaimed the Qua Toynian foreign minister.

"We were not here originally, we were transferred to your world from Earth. If you still doubt our existence, you can come and see for yourself. We are happy to arrange a visit to our nation."

Kanata spoke up. "That's a good idea. I will ready a delegation."

"Alright, I will have a cruise liner sent here to transport your delegation to our shores," Kravchenko replied.
