He had regrets.

As a searing pain jolted through his body, the All-Killing Ash Bone doing its work.

Obito regretted everything.

Everything up until his final act.

He regretted.

Not Saving Rin.

Letting a black pile of goo manipulate him.

Killing Minato Sensei and Kushina.

Making many lives a living hell.

He knew that he deserved this. It was only right he got the most painful end possible.

Deep down, he wished to survive. That was impossible. He could never redeem himself.

Obito finally took his last breath. It was insanely painful.

Though, after all he's done, he deserved it.

He was breathing.

That was the first thing he realized. It was also the first thing that he realized was wrong. He shouldn't be breathing. The next thing he realized was that he was in a cave. Not any cave either. It was the one where he woke up after being crushed by a boulder. He glanced up from the bed he was on at the Gedo Statue looming above him. After that he realized something else. He felt a huge surge of power flowing through him. The Jubi's chakra.

'Oh shit.' Obito told himself. The allied Shinobi Force didn't yank out all the Ten Tails Chakra from him. He didn't particularly focus on it since he knew he was going to die later anyways. Or so he thought. The power still surged through his blood.

This led Obito to realize the fact that all his chakra remained. All six massive wells that were his chakra reserves flowed with power. Turning his head he saw Madara sleeping. Thank Kami. He wasn't awake to notice the immense power that flowed through the cave. Obito quickly hid most of his chakra and 'relaxed' on the bed again. His mind racing.

For starters, why is he alive?

Obito sighed looking at the Gedo Statue once more. This was the Sage's fault, wasn't it? He inwardly groaned. In the history lessons that were bashed into his head by Madara, he said that the Sage of the Six Path had some wicked sense of humor or some shit.

Or... Did the Sage want him to redeem himself? It didn't seem too unlike the old man. Especially from the hundreds of scrolls he read. Obito flexed his right hand. The Senju cells felt odd attached to the human part of his body. He frowned at this, if he was correct about the Sage's actions, it would be hard with an arm that didn't feel right. It had taken at least four years after leaving the cave for the artificial limb to feel natural.

Obito was about to go back to his thoughts when Zetsu came through the wall. He looked up, he used to have nightmares about this moment.

The white aloe vera plant looking thing began saying something about Kakashi and Rin being in danger. That's when Obito first realized it. He never told any Zetsu what Rin and Kakashi looked like. He bolted from the bed and grabbed a cloak. He ran straight through the boulder blocking the cave entrance. He felt White Zetsu's surprise. He ignored it. He wasn't going to let the same thing happen twice. Rin deserved to live a long life. Kakashi didn't deserve to live with the guilt of killing his remaining teammate. He bolted through the forest. He still wasn't used to this body so he couldn't go as fast as he'd like. Still, it was faster than last time.

Obito finally reached the area where his teammates were. As if time were slowed he saw Rin jump right from where she was hiding in front of a Kiri nin. He saw Kakashi use another Chidori even though it should've been impossible due to his chakra level.

At an inhumane speed Obito jumped right in front of Kakashi. His arm went straight through his heart. Just light the fight they had in the Kamui dimension. Kakashi's eyes widened as he looked at who he struck.

"...O- Obito?" He asked weakly, yanking his arm out of Obito's chest. Not long after he passed out. Quickly, Obito set him down on the ground, looking back over at Rin who was thankfully alive. She seemed stunned at the previous events. Her face looked shocked as she saw who it was, though she didn't say anything.

"What are you doing? Get the girl!" A Kiri nin shouted. Probably the leader. Obito looked at him with a small smile. Flexing his right hand, he decided that the mokuton would do just fine to get rid of these animals. It'd also show them the true meaning of Blood Mist.

He looked at the mess he created. It was truly a bloody mist around this area. He didn't let them go peacefully. He made it hurt.

Finally, Obito looked over at his passed out teammate and Rin sitting next to him.

"Is that really you... Obito?" She asked quietly.

He nodded, "I'm sorry I couldn't come sooner." He said walking over to his old team, "You and Kakashi should probably get back to Konoha."

Rin looked at him, pain laced her face, "I- I can't." She muttered.

Oh yeah. The seal. The Sanbi.

Obito thought for a moment. If he still had some Six Paths chakra from the Jubi, he'd be able to get rid of the seal. The one on her heart and the one that'd unleash the Sanbi in Konoha. Then he could fix the seal.

"Don't worry, I can help you." Obito said calmly, "Lie down and I'll work with the seals, you can trust me, Rin."

It was extremely painful to look at her in the eyes. He had to to ensure that's she'd stay calm. She nodded softly and out her back to the ground. Obito then began his work. He carefully got rid of that seal that was on her heart. He had to make sure every move with the chakra was gentle and precise. The simplest mistake could cost her life. After a few minutes he was finished.

Next he moved down to her stomach, "This'll probably hurt, so please bear with me." Obito warned. He let her grab onto his shoulder and he worked on destroying Kirigakure's seal and making a new strong and secure one.

Rin refrained from yelling out loud. She kept a really tight grip on his shoulder as he worked.

'Thank Madara for forcing me to learn fuinjutsu.' Obito told himself as he started working on the new seal. By now Rin's grip had significantly loosened. Around fifteen minutes passed and Obito was done. He let his hands off of Rin's abdomen.

"You two should probably get back to Konoha." Obito said again after Rin sat up.

"What about you?" She asked, "You're coming back too... right?" She asked with a hopeful gleam in her eyes.

Obito looked back at her. He couldn't go back. After all he'd done he couldn't face the village he destroyed multiple times. All the people he killed. He couldn't face them.

He took a breath, "I'm sorry Rin. I can't go back after what I've done."

She looked at him with a confused looked, "Why not? What did you do? You saved Kakashi and I!" She exclaimed.

"You wouldn't understand Rin. It's best if you don't either. I'll take you and Kakashi back to Konoha. That will be the last you'll see of me. Rin, I'm very sorry."

Tears looked like they were about to fall from Rin's face. Obito used Kamui to bring the three of them to the village entrance. Rin didn't seem to care. She stood up quickly and hugged Obito.

"Please!" She sobbed, "You don't have to stay away!"

Obito wrapped his arms around Rin, "I'm sorry." Was all the said before leaving.

Rin collapsed onto her knees, silently crying before passing out from exhaustion.

Rin woke up in a hospital. She blinked a few times before remembering how she passed out . She sat up slowly. Her body still ached with exhaustion.

"Rin! How are you? What happened?" A voice asked.

She turned around to see Minato sitting in a chair next to her.

As she remembered everything she began to cry again, "Oh Minato Sensei!" She cried, "Obito- Obito's alive!"
