CHAPTER 6
Exploring the Ruins
World of Trophies (Super Smash Bros Brawl): The Path to the Ruins
Sonic Prime along with the other Pokémon Trainers appeared on a hillside near a path to a tall pinpoint mountain.
"So, where are we now?" Yellow asked the blue anthro hedgehog.
"Pika-Pika?" Chuchu replied as a question.
"I don't know exactly, but we must explore there." Prime answered.
"I really hope Sapphire is there." Ruby said wanting to see her if she is alright.
*GRITZY DESERT (MARIO & LUIGI PARTNERS IN TIME)*
They made their way towards the mountain but as they were advancing, a huge Alligator Turtle Soulless appeared from the bushes trying to bite the group but they dodge, but it was in the company of three Goblins Soulless wielding boomerangs.
"I should have imagined that they would be here too!" Red said while facing the Soulless, it was like they were trying to stop the heroes.
Red called Charizard while Yellow called Kitty, Blue called Gyara, Gold called Explotaro, Crystal called Monlee, Silver called Feraligatr, Green called Nido and Abra, Emerald called Sudowoodo and Ruby called Mumu. In the battle the alligator turtle Soulless enters inside his shell before spinning towards Prime but he used Sonic Cracker in front of the Soulless causing it to fly before Prime could perform Air Trick combined with Somersault Kicks to hit repeatedly at the Alligator Turtle Soulless while Charizard and Kitty use Dragon Dance and Quiver Dance respectively before using Dragon Claw and Air Slash while Prime uses White Blast and together destroyed the Alligator Turtle-like Soulless. The three Goblins Soulless launched their boomerangs but Abra stopped them by using Psychic and returned them back at the goblins-like Soulless, talking about a spoonful of their own medicine. Then Explotaro grabs a Goblin Soulless before punching it like a sandbag by using Thunder Punch while Monlee uses Mega Punch against the same Soulless, Gyara uses Dragon Dance before using Body Slam and Aqua Tail against the second Soulless, Nido uses Double Kick and Sludge Bomb, followed by Mumu using Hammer Arm against the second Goblin Soulless and Hydro Pump against the third Goblin Soulless, then Abra uses Psychic to dogpile the three Goblins Soulless, Sudowoodo uses Rock Slide and Feraligatr finished them by using Hydro Cannon.
"Those were the last ones." Emerald told the group.
"Let's keep going." Prime said and they nodded.
They kept advancing until they stopped by a series of spikes on the ground.
"What we needed." Gold said sarcastically while watching the spikes on the ground.
"My Abra can transport us to the other side." Green said clearly giving the answer to their small problem.
"Okay." Prime nodded in agreement.
Then Abra concentrated his psychic powers and teleported the group to the other side and crossed the spikes too, they kept resuming until they were ambushed by two Tarantulas Soulless and a crimson Dimetrodon known as Dimetrodon Soulless who attacks by lunging a bite but Prime dodged and performed Spin Slash before using Sonic Wave while Kitty used Bug Buzz, Charizard using Steel Wing and Fire Punch while Prime used Grand Slam and both finished by using Whirlwind and Fire Spin to form a fiery tornado and extinguished the dimetrodon-like Soulless. The first Tarantula Soulless launched silk threads but Explotaro, Monlee and Feraligatr dodge the attack, Monlee uses Bullet Punch to hit the tarantula-like Soulless, Feraligatr followed by using Slash and Explotaro using Shadow Claw, the second Tarantula lunged towards Abra, Nido and Mumu but they dodge, then Swampert attacks by using Muddy Water which literally sends muddy water to hit the Tarantula Soulless, followed by Abra using Hidden Power and Nido using Earth Power, Sudowoodo uses Rocl Tomb and followed by using Stone Edge, the two Tarantulas were stumbling back and Explotaro used Blast Burn to finish them both.
"Good job, Explotaro." Gold congratulated him for performing the ending blow.
With the enemies taken down, they went to the next area of the place, the group broke through a series of blocks that lead to a tunnel with an elevator and they used the elevator and it takes them up to a cliff where they were ambushed by an Ent Soulless who attacked by using his vines but they dodged.
"Let's use Flamethrower!" Red and Gold said in unison.
Charizard and Typhlosion nodded each other before using Flamethrower against the Ent Soulless, Nido follows by using Sludge Bomb, Kitty using Air Slash, Mumu using Rock Smash, Feraligatr and Monlee using Ice Punch, Sudowoodo using Rock Slide and Prime using Homing Shot and combining with Wind Arrow to destroy the Ent Soulless. After taking out the Soulless with the form of a humanoid tree, they kept going and also they came across a series of platforms in a canyon.
"Now how are we gonna cross over this canyon?" Yellow asked while watching it.
"We jump over those platforms to cross over." Red replied to her.
"Pikachu." Pika added in his usual language.
The group jumps over to the platforms, which as soon as they land, the platforms start sinking. They jumped over to other platforms, which also started sinking. They repeated the process, while also dodging spiky floating balls called Jyks, until the heroes' group reached the end of the canyon and entered a tunnel.
*UNDERGROUND THEME - SUPER MARIO LAND (SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL REMIX)*
The tunnel has a huge lake of lava and some more platforms.
"Great! Now we have to cross over a lake of lava!" Gold said sarcastically after seeing more lava.
"I visited many places with lava, just we have to jump over the platforms while avoiding falling into the lava." Prime said while explaining to the group too.
The group jumped over the platforms. However, Wildfires Soulless were floating before going towards the group but Mumu and Feraligatr used Hydro Pump against the Wildfire Soulless which exploded when they received the high-pressured water shot. After crossing the lake of lava, they found a series of fire pillars in the tunnel but Mumu uses Muddy Water to turn off the fire and kept moving, later they jump down the pit and went into a sealed room, where they were ambushed by a Necromancer Soulless and small Slimes Soulless.
"Oh come on!" Gold replied with a groan.
Prime along with Charizard, Kitty, Pika and Chuchu went to fight against the Necromancer Soulless while the others were fighting against the Slimes Soulless, Chuchu used Thunder Wave but the Necromancer Soulless dodged before swiping Chuchu away.
"Chuchu!" Yellow rushed towards her and grabbed her Pokémon.
The Necromancer launches crimson magic shots but Prime used Insta-Shield to deflect them back at him, Kitty followed by using Psychic to slam the Soulless to the ground, Charizard followed by using Brick Break with one fist and Fire Punch with the other fist, Pika and Chuchu use Thunderbolt and Prime uses Cross Slash against the Necromancer Soulless and finishes it off by using Double Sonic Cracker while the others managed to defeat the Slimes Soulless. After finishing them off they arrived in a room where they found trackballs (the ones from Super Smash Bros Brawl) but also there are three Zombies Soulless, but Prime used Focused Homing Attacks against the trackballs to hit the Zombies Soulless and the Pokémon used their usual attacks until finish them the three zombies-like Soulless.
"Okay, here we go." Blue said and they went to the next room with a big platform and two floating platforms.
But suddenly three Soulless with the form of flaming skulls surrounded with yellow rods known as Blazes Soulless appeared in front of the group.
"Looks like the Soulless ambushes don't end…!" Gold hissed while glaring at the Soulless.
"We just have to keep fighting…!" Crystal said while getting ready to fight.
Gyara and Mumu used Hydro Pump while Feraligatr used Whirlpool but at the minimum contact with the Blazes Soulless, the water type attacks evaporated instantly.
"The water attacks evaporated away…!" Ruby replied in shock.
"We need to find another way to finish them off…!" Silver said while dodging a flame attack from a Blaze Soulless.
Then Blue called back Gyara inside the Pokéball before calling for Aero, while Silver did the same with Feraligatr and switching Kingdra, and Ruby with Mumu and switching Kiki. In the battle, Prime used Quick Cyloop before following by using Whirlwind while Chuchu uses Thunder Wave to stun the three Blazes Soulless for a while, then Charizard and Explotaro use Shadow Claw against one Soulless, Pika uses Thunder against the second Soulless and Monlee follows by using Ice Punch, Nido uses Sludge Bomb while Kitty used Shadow Ball against the third one, Aero and Sudowoodo use Rock Slide while Kingdra uses Twister and Kiki uses Secret Power which acted as Rock Throw and Prime uses Sonic Wave and together they defeated the three Blazes Soulless.
"I think those were the last ones…" Red said while watching his surroundings.
After checking the place, they arrived in a huge room with a big platform with three floating platforms.
"Hey look. Another platform. Maybe we can get on it and it'll move." Blue said, seeing the platform.
"Or maybe if we do, we'll encounter more enemies." Gold said while being aware too.
"Well, the most important thing is to stay alive." Prime said mainly.
And yes, staying alive is very important. The group went above the platform and it moved up and as you might have guessed, they were ambushed by a big Phoenix Soulless who screeches (just like Helmaroc King).
"We gotta be careful, that Soulless looks stronger than the previous ones." Prime said while watching the Phoenix Soulless.
Red called Lapras for assist Charizard, Yellow called Ommy to assist Kitty, Blue called Alakazam, Gold called Politaro, Crystal called Natee, Silver called Honchkrow, Green called Jiggly, Emerald called Mantine and Ruby called Nana, the Phoenix Soulless was outnumbered but that wasn't going to stop the phoenix-like Soulless to get more souls and turn its victims into Soulless. Lapras used Dragon Dance to gain extra speed and attack while Ommy used Rock Polish to gain extra speed, then the Phoenix Soulless screeches while engulfing itself in flames before charging to the group but Chuchu used Thunder Wave and Pika used Thunderbolt which forced the Phoenix Soulless to stop, Prime followed by using Blue Thunderbolt before using Sonic Boom, but the Phoenix Soulless screeches furiously before launching sharp feathers by flapping the wings but Prime used Insta-Shield to send the feathers back at the Soulless, Lapras and Charizard used Waterfall and Dragon Claw respectively with both hitting the Soulless, Kitty and Ommy attacked by using Air Slash and Blizzard against the phoenix-like Soulless, Aero attacks by using Rock Slide and Alakazam uses Psycho Cut, despite the Phoenix Soulless dodged some of the attacks it was hit by the rest, Explotaro uses Smokescreen to blind the Soulless temporarily, Politaro uses Whirlpool while Kingdra uses Twister combining their attacks and hitting the phoenix-like Soulless, Natee uses Drill Peck while Monlee uses Sky Uppercut with both hitting the Phoenix Soulless, Honchkrow uses Dark Pulse while Jiggly uses Ice Beam with both hitting the Soulless who retaliates by launching flames but Politaro and Kingdra use Hydro Pump to extinguish the flames, then Prime performs Grand Slam before using Phantom Rush and Homing Shot combined with White Blast, Mantine and Sudowoodo use Rock Slide and Water Pulse respectively, Kiki followed by using Shadow Ball and Nana finished by using Hyper Beam which destroyed the Phoenix Soulless completely.

"We did it…" Ruby said relieved after defeating the Soulless.
The Pokémon were returned inside their Pokéballs to take a rest after the battle (only Pika and Chuchu stayed outside), even if they weren't damaged they need to recover energies after using their attacks, then arrived into another room where there is an elevator. They enter it and the elevator takes them to a temple inside the mountain.
"Hey Prime." Ruby called him before asking. "Is that the right way?"
"This is the entrance to the ruins. This is definitely the right way." Prime answered.
They tried to enter until they heard a familiar female voice.
"Ruby, is that you?" She asked but directly at him.
"That voice…" Ruby said before turning behind to see Sapphire with joy. "Sapphire!"
"Ruby!" Sapphire said before receiving a hug from Ruby leaving her baffled.
"I'm glad you're okay." Ruby said without wishing to let her go.
"Me too." Sapphire said before returning the hug.
But later they realize that there are more people and release themselves before he and she turn away from each other while blushing, for one moment Sapphire seemed like a similar person in another universe.
"I'm glad you guys are all okay." Sapphire said changing the subject.
"Yeah." Ruby said before introducing Sonic Prime. "He is Sonic Prime, he helped us to gather us just like the others."
"I'm Sapphire, nice to meet you." Sapphire said while reintroducing herself.
"Likewise." Prime said.
"So, where are we? And where are the others?" Sapphire asked while wondering about the other disappeared trainers.
"It's a long story." Yellow said.
Then Prime explained the whole story, the encounter against three anthro guardian hedgehogs which was quite surprising, the information about the Soulless sounded shocking and depressing, but now Sapphire could understand why Ruby was so worried for her and the presence of other universes is really surprising.
"So, we're in another universe." Sapphire said, noticing that she isn't in the Pokémon World anymore.
"Yes, the Soulless are appearing frequently as we're traveling across different universes, we gotta be careful." Prime explained about their encounters against the Soulless.
"I would like to fight but my Pokémon are still tired after the battle against Giratina." Sapphire said while remembering the battle against the phantom dragon.
"Don't worry, I brought fruit from the previous universe to feed your Pokémon and restore their energies." Ruby said while showing fruit from his backpack.
"Really? Thank you." Sapphire said gladly of counting with help.
Then she called Alty along with others Blaziken (female form; and nicknamed Chic), an Aggron (nicknamed Rono), a Tropius (nicknamed Pilo), a Donphan (nicknamed Dono) and a Gallade (nicknamed Kirly), her Pokémon Team ate the fruit, now having their energies recovered they were called back inside the Pokéballs.
"Okay, now I'm ready." Sapphire said but she cannot stop wondering about the others. "I wonder where the others are?"
"Don't worry, Sapphire. We'll find them." Prime reassured her before turning to see entry to the ruins. "But right now, we have to explore the ruins."
"Possibly the others must be there too." Red added.
Sapphire nodded, then they turned to see the ruins before entering.
The Ruins
Now they were inside the ruins, they took the elevator and it took them to a lower floor with a minecart. They rode on the minecart and it took them down a pit, where they fell into a pond. They got out of the pond but as they were out of the water, then Yellow sneezed.
"Bless you, Yellow." Red said softly to her.
"Thank you." Yellow said while blushing.
It is very normal to catch a cold after falling into the water and having the entire clothes wet, then Red decided to call Charizard while Gold called Explotaro to produce fire and warm the wet group. They stayed for seconds there until humidity disappeared completely and they went down the hallway where they found Subspace Creatures Mites, Borboras, Glires and Fire Jyks.
"Are they Soulless?" Red asked while facing the enemies.
"I don't think so, it's the Subspace Army!" Prime corrected him before turning to see the familiar creatures.
Why are those dark creatures here too? Could it be a coincidence for him? Who knows, but if they want to advance they must finish them all.
Pika and Chuchu attacked by using Iron Tail (usual combos from Pikachu in PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond) while Prime uses Focused Homing Attack and Phantom Rush against the enemies. After taking out the enemies they move across the hallways while dodging the moving walls, Fire Jyks and falling spikes too. The place was full of traps, but despite that they managed to cross safely and arrived into a room with a giant gear holding two room-like platforms.
"What's with that gear holding two rooms?" Yellow asked with curiosity.
"Pika…" Chuchu replied with his usual language.
"Well, we may find out if we step on one of those rooms." Prime answered.
Just as he said, after going inside on one of the platforms the gear starts moving them around, where they were attacked by some Floows and a Roturret and they made their attacks, Prime used the Insta-Shield to deflect them back and defeated the enemies. The group got off the platform, but stopped when they saw a pit with three buttons on a platform.
"Well, there's three buttons down there." Gold said while seeing the buttons.
"But they could be traps." Crystal said while wondering what could happen. "What if we activate the wrong one and we fall to our dooms?"
"I'll press all of them, later Green's Abra could use Teleport to reach the other side." Prime explained the plan to the group and they nodded.
Then Green called her Abra while Prime used Sonic Wave pressing all the buttons, the platforms and the floors disappeared, but only the right button revealed the gate.
"It looks like the right button has the door." Prime said clearly watching the gate.
"Now we can proceed." Green said before turning to see Abra. "Abra, use Teleport."
Abra used Teleport and transported everyone to the gate where there is a long hallway with flame pillars, a lot of Mites and Fire Jyks. They dodged the flame pillars and Fire Jyks and took out the Mites along the way. They reached another minecart, which took them to a platform at the end of the hallway and as the platform descended, spikes came out the the walls and they dodged them, but to make things worse, two Metal Primids appeared but Red called Charizard.
"Charizard, toss those creatures out of the platform!" Red instructed the flaming and flying lizard-like Pokémon.
Charizard bites one Metal Primid before quickly flinging the enemy out of the platform (Biting Throw from Smash Bros series) and did the same with the other Metal Primid, the group keeps dodging the spikes until the platform reaches the bottom of the pit where they were attacked by giant Bytans and Glires, but Prime uses Wild Rush and Charizard uses Dragon Dance before using Dragon Claw to defeat the enemies.
"The path is clear." Prime said to the group and they nodded.
They proceed down the hallway. When they reached the end, they entered a huge room with a platform.
"I wonder where that platform might bring us." Yellow said while wondering about the mysterious platform.
"Well, there's only one way to find out." Red said ready to go to the platform.
They went on the platform and it started moving but suddenly they got ambushed by more Subspace creatures like Armights and Autolances. Prime uses Wind Arrow against Autolances, while Sapphire calls Rono to use Iron Tail against an Armight and crashes against the others. After defeating enemies, the platform starts moving again until they are ambushed by more Armights and Borboras but Prime uses Somersault Kicks and Wild Rush to defeat the enemies and the platform starts moving again but more enemies like Armights and Shaydas.
"C'mon! How many enemies do we have to fight against them!?" Gold asks, a bit of a desperate tone.
"Just we have to keep fighting against them." Prime said before using Blue Thunderbolt against a Shaydas while penetrating its defense and easily defeating it.
Then Abra attacks by using Psychic, Charizard uses Flamethrower and Dragon Claw, Explotaro uses Flame Wheel and Shadow Claw, Chuchu uses Iron Tail, Pika uses Thunder and Rono uses Metal Claw, they kept fighting until to defeat all the enemies, the platform takes the group to the end of the hallway. They get off the platform and proceed to the next hallway, where there is a button and a wall.
"I wonder what that button is for." Red said while seeing the button.
"Let's press it and find out." Prime suggested them.
Red pressed the button and the wall opened up, revealing another button and a wall. They pressed the button and the wall opened up, revealing even more buttons that opened up walls which was like walking across a maze. But as they were advancing they fought off some Bytans and after getting out of the maze, they encountered a Roturret but Prime used Grand Slam against the Roturret and defeated it with just one hit. Before they could make it to the end of the hallway, they encountered some Shaydas and a Towtow who attacked by ramming but Rono grabbed the enemy before using Iron Tail to defeat it and Prime uses Blue Thunderbolt against the Shaydas to take them out while ignoring their defenses too, then Charizard, Rono, Explotaro and Abra were returned inside their Pokéballs and they continued moving until arriving to the next zone.
The Ruined Hall
The group was now in a stadium-like zone, the Pokémon Trainers see the zone very familiar like a battle stadium.
"Now what will we do?" Red asked while watching the place.
"Pika?" Pika wondered about the place.
"We explored the entire ruins, only remains to explore here." Prime said while searching for hints about the Soulless until he heard an unknown laugh.
Then they looked up and saw Kofuku.
"I could bet that he must be another guardian!" Red while glaring at the dark blue anthro hedgehog.
"That's right, I'm Kofuku, the Guardian of Happiness." Kofuku introduced himself, despite being called the Guardian of Happiness, he is not good news since their previous encounters with the other guardians. "Why search, when it will only be lost? Why cling to life, knowing that you have to perish? Maybe you should look at your faces, priceless."
Kofuku laughed after speaking, but no one saw it funny at the Guardian of Happiness.
"Maybe you're called the Guardian of Happiness, but we will be able to stop you!" Emerald declared while he and the other trainers were getting ready to fight.
"We'll see about that." Kofuku said while swinging his brush-like hands.
*DANCING MAD (FINAL FANTASY VI)*
Red called Saur while Yellow called Dody, Blue called Arcanine, Gold called Togetaro, Crystal called Archy, Silver called Weavile, Green called Bull, Ruby called Fofo, Emerald called Dusclops and Sapphire called Chic to fight against Kofuku who starts by unleashing a sudden burst of ice magic but Prime used Insta-Shield to deflect back the attack and giving enough time to Saur and Dody in using Swords Dance to gain extra attack.
"Chic, it's time to show our true power with two hearts as one, Mega Evolve!" Sapphire said while using the Mega Stone and Chic became Mega Blaziken.
Chic loses her yellow markings and gains black markings on its upper legs and chest. Her hair-like feathers take on a wing-like shape and point upward, and the portion around her chest is rough around its shoulders. The crest on her head changes into a flat horn that curves backward and the fire it creates on her wrists is now longer.
"This is getting very interesting." Kofuku said practically enjoying the battle.
Then he later attacked by summoning a fake core trying to draw his opponents but they dodged and Chic attacks by using Double Kick while Prime performs Somersault Kicks and landed in the ground, then a reddish aura surrounded Chic while Kofuku attacks by summoning fireworks-like attack trying to explode the group but they dodged again while Chic moved a bit faster than the previous time. Then Togetaro, Archy and Arcanine use Extreme Speed while Prime used Phantom Rush with the four team members hitting the Guardian of Happiness repeatedly and Saur along with Dody they used Vine Whip and Drill Peck respectively and hitting Kofuku.
"Now, how about this!?" Kofuku asks before juggling balls of electricity and tosses them but Prime uses Insta-Shield to return the attack towards the jester-like hedgehog.
Then Weavile attacks with Faint Attack and follows by using Ice Punch, Green followed by using Stone Edge, both Pikachu used Iron Tails, Fofo uses Thunder, Dusclops uses Shadow Punch and Prime performs a Focused Homing Attack before using Somersault Kicks, Cross Slash and Homing Shot combined with White Blast causing a lot of damage against Kofuku and Chic used Blaze Kick against the dark blue anthro hedgehog and the same reddish aura surrounded her before moving a bit more faster than before, Prime was impressed of seeing Chic's special ability about gaining extra speed.
"It's time to bring fun to the show of happiness!" Kofuku said, but his meaning of happiness was an intention of destruction.
He summons raining meteors falling towards the group but they managed to dodge the attacks, then Prime performs Cyclone Kick and followed by using Sonic Boom, Saur used Vine Whip to grab Kofuku and using Headbutt which literally slams his head against the psychotic hedgehog, Dody uses Aerial Ace and Pluck against the dark blue anthro hedgehog, Arcanine and Archy attack by using Flamethrower, but Kofuku recovered before summoning homing fireballs but Prime uses Sonic Cracker to block the enemy attack.
"This is our chance!" Silver spoke to the group.
Then Weavile uses Icy Wind before using Night Slash against the Guardian of Happiness who retaliates by casting triangles of energy but they managed to dodge the attack, then Bull attacks by using Crunch and follows by using Play Rough, Dusclops and Fofo use Shadow Ball, and Chic along with Prime use Sky Uppercut and a Loop Kick which hit Kofuku, but also Chic gained extra speed too.
"This is getting on my nerves!" Kofuku said while smiling, but in a creepy way.
Then he summons wings from his back trying to hit Prime and Chic but they dodged, then the Mega Evolved Pokémon uses Blast Burn and Prime uses Wind Pulse with both hitting and finishing off the jester-like hedgehog.

Despite being defeated, Kofuku was laughing ironically while everyone kept glaring at the Guardian who seemed more like a madman.
"What's so funny?" Red asked at the Guardian of Happiness.
"Maybe I have lost the battle, but this is far from over, and we'll meet again another time." Kofuku said before disappearing in a portal.
Chic reverted to her regular form before being returned to her Pokéball just like the others Pokémon, except by Pika and Chuchu. Then they searched for the other trainers but they didn't have luck.
"It looks like we ended up exploring here, but possibly the others must be in another universe." Prime said while meaning that they ended in this universe and they nodded.
Then he used the Chaos Control to travel to another universe, but as they are advancing the Soulless appear and one of the seven unknown Guardians appear to fight against Prime and the group of Pokémon Trainers, luckily with their teamwork and determination they will be able to win every battle.
