Konan sharpened a few kunai, glancing over at Obito she saw that he was cleaning a katana. She never knew that Obito was someone to use swords. Then again she didn't even know his true identity until a while ago.

"You're confident in this plan then?" He asked. Breaking the silence. Even though he was still as powerful as he was the days right before his death, he was still concerned. The slightest mistake might not have any effect on him, but it would probably have some on Konan, Yahiko, or Nagato. Obito absolutely refused to let the same things happen twice. Especially with people like Nagato.

"Yes." Konan replied as she put the last of her kunai in a pouch on her side, "If everything is timed perfectly, no true harm shall be done."

"So shall we go then?" He asked, fastening his cloak to his body.

"I suppose so. I need to meet up with Nagato and Yahiko anyways." Konan said before turning into a swarm of paper. Obito sighed as he sheathed his sword. He really hoped things would turn out okay. Deep down he knew that things would be alright. Maybe he was just paranoid from past events. Stepping outside of Konan's home, into the pouring rain, he sighed.

For Konan.

For Yahiko.

For Nagato.

Minato and his two students were running as fast as they could to get to Amekagure. Granted, Minato could go quite a lot faster, but he wanted to stay with his students. They were out of the fire country now. Who knew what kinda people roamed around out here? Also, he was the Hokage. He really shouldn't be outside of Konoha let alone the nation. Though this was for his student who mysteriously was fine after being crushed by a boulder and refused to head back home.

He had so many questions for his student. So. Many. Questions. Obito was the brightest Uchiha he knew. He always said how he was going to become the Hokage and he'd do anything for that position. Now he had outright refused to come back. Sent a scroll saying to not look for him. Hid almost all of his tracks. Didn't send letters.

Minato felt like he failed as a sensei. If only he had been there during Kannabi Bridge. How would've things changed?

What he didn't know was that things have already been changed. Major things.

Obito silently hid behind a tree. Right by Hanzo and his men. Any moment now he'd be looking for Konan to make the signal. His katana was tightly gripped in his hands as he waited. Obito didn't really pay attention to the conversation. Only when Hanzo said for Yahiko to die.

Not a moment later, Konan made the signal. A simple hand sign. He didn't hesitate to kamui right behind Hanzo and stab him in the back with his katana. He listened to the Salamander choke on his own blood. Hanzo's men stood still in shock while Konan quickly told things to her friends.

Once the target was finally down, his men began to attack. Konan immediately assisted in the fight. This was for her friends. The bastard deserved a far worse fate for what he had done to Yahiko in a past life, but there was no time for that.

She smiled as her and Obito attacked enemies in perfect synchronization. With his swift and a sharp attacks and her gentle, yet lethal attacks, they made very short work of the Salamander's men.

By now they were a day and a half away from Ame. Despite Minato's wishes they hardly stopped to eat or rest. Rin and Kakashi were determined to bring their teammate back home and ask why the hell he was hiding. Truth be told, none of them had a single clue as of why he left or what he was doing in Amekagure.

Minato himself came up with multiple scenarios. None made sense. Obito used to be very easy to find out. Now these past years, it was as difficult as trying to track an S-Rank shinobi.

Soon he would have his answers. Figure out exactly what happened.

Hopefully.

Despite Obito's refusal, Konan drug him down to Nagato and Yahiko. They deserved to see their savior.

Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, Nagato and Yahiko were very friendly. When Konan made up a lie saying that Obito found out the Hanzo was not a good man, they believed it. Yahiko was especially kind and thankful.

"You know, I can always get you a spot in the Akatsuki." Yahiko said with a tad bit of nervousness, "Since you kinda saved our lives."

"Oh... I'm really sorry to decline your offer Yahiko, but I do quite a lot of traveling all around the world. I don't think I could be too good of use to your organization." Obito apologetically replied, rubbing the back of his head,

"You could still be an unofficial member, Obito." Konan cut in. Something extremely odd for her, "If you're away you could always gather us some info on other villages that are struggling like how the hidden rain was."

Yahiko immediately nodded, "Yes. You could do that. It would really help us to achieve peace and make sure that other villages won't suffer anymore!"

Obito grinned slightly, that had gotten him. He had seen how badly Amekagure was doing during his time there. Hell, even Kakuzu seemed upset by it. And there was usually nothing that made that man feel anything.

"Fine. I suppose I'll take up on your offer. But Yahiko, I want you to rule over Ame and ensure its citizens safety."

"Of course." Yahiko replied. As Obito turned around to leave, he saw the small smile on Nagato's face.

Things were already getting far better.
