On Today's Episode: The spies corner Lumiere in his latest studio set, but like all good villains, the mad movie maker's ready to spring his trump card, and it's a doozy this time around. Can the spies take down this maddening mashup of classic horror villains, or is this where Lumiere has the last laugh?

Act 3: And That's a Wrap

9:21 P.M. – Lumiere's Studio

("Drops of Jupiter" by Train plays)

"End of the line, you faker!" Mat proclaimed. "It's time you paid for getting one of my love interests!"

"Oh, that hurts my feelings, you little brat..." Lumiere scoffed.

"Stop it, you're not sorry at all!" Bridget shot back.

"You're one to talk about being sorry," May added. "It's people like you who give show biz a bad name!"

"I've HAD IT WITH HEARING THAT!" Lumiere screamed in agony.

"We've had just about enough of your games, Lumiere!" Nick proclaimed. "Just bring out your secret weapon so we can tear it apart!"

All of a sudden, Lumiere began grinning at Nick's statement.

"Well, all you had to do was ask..." Lumiere sneered.

"Now why does THAT not sound like something I'd like?" Sam grimaced.

"...um, can someone please tell me what the hell this thing is?!" May wondered.

"Why does it look like an amalgamation of so many different horror movie villains?" Haruka asked as well.

"I think it's proof that Marco Lumiere studied up on too many scary R-rated flicks," Blaine commented.

Indeed, the figure standing just across from them was a robotic figure that combined elements from many different horror and slasher villains, including the striped jacket and of Freddy Krueger, two machetes in its hands and a hockey mask over its face like Jason Voorhees, and even a large, segmented tail much like a Xenomorph.

"Oh, who thinks this is going to end well?" Melissa groaned.

"I'm so glad you asked that, my dear," Lumiere chuckled. "Let's wrap this shoot, shall we? Go get 'em, my Slasher Sentry!"

The Slasher Sentry rumbled to life before jumping forward to attack the spies with its machetes, forcing them to stay on the defensive for the moment.

"Okay, this is every horror movie cliché just boiled into one thing and I am not having that!" Nozomi exclaimed as she jumped away from the machetes.

"Well, how about I give this mashup a lesson in speed?" Bridget quipped. "Sonic Mode, online!"

Once Bridget had transformed, everyone noticed that Bridget's Sonic Mode suit was already glowing brightly, and they remembered that earlier, while snapping Haruka out of her own trance, Bridget had built up a lot of kinetic energy, but hadn't used it.

Bridget stood her ground as the Slasher Sentry approached her, then equipped a Metal Masher Boxing Glove and punched the ground with it when it got close enough. The exact second the MMBG hit the ground, Bridget released all of her stored kinetic energy in the form of a shockwave of emerald lightning that blasted the Slasher Sentry backwards, knocking its Jason mask off and revealing a scarred doll-like face reminiscent of Chucky.

"All right, that's even creepier!" Britney shouted.

The Slasher Sentry retaliated by whipping its Xenomorph tail out and attempting to stab Bridget with it, but she simply dodged away from each stab it made towards her, before eventually charging back in to shove the Slasher Sentry towards the spies.

This allowed Nick to blast it in the chest with a Final Shine Attack, sending it reeling.

However, the Slasher Sentry recovered quickly and started charging towards the spies again.

"Oh, yeah, sure!" Melissa taunted, only to find herself frozen in place when Lumiere aimed a camera towards her and hit her with a flashbang that stunned her.

"So sorry you froze up in the middle of filming," Lumiere laughed as the Slasher Sentry thrust its Xenomorph tail forward to impale Melissa through the chest.

Or, it would have, had Nick not rushed forward, formed a psychic blade on his right hand, and slashed downward to sever the tail from the Slasher Sentry's body before it could even touch Melissa.

"Ooh, you're gonna pay for that one specifically," Nick proclaimed as he knocked the Slasher Sentry back with a psychic pulse before moving to free Melissa from her stunned state. "You okay, sis?"

"Yeah, just... wasn't expecting that," Melissa admitted.

"Bad guys usually tend to play dirty," Nick quipped.

"You're ruining my shoot again?!" Lumiere shouted.

"Well, that's the second time in this caper that you've tried to mangle my sister," Nick retorted. "And didn't I tell you the golden rule when it comes to me, specifically?"

The Slasher Sentry regained its balance and attempted to bisect Nick with a double overhead machete slash, but Nick retaliated by raising his right hand to freeze the machine in its spot.

"Messing with my family is a line that should never, EVER be crossed," Nick growled as he fired a Final Shine Attack to blow off the Slasher Sentry's arms.

However, the Slasher Sentry sprouted two more arms, these ones armed with Freddy Krueger's knife gloves.

"Yes, I thought of the extra arms," Lumiere cackled, attempting to use his stun camera to freeze Melissa again, only for Alex to shoot the camera out of Lumiere's hands with a Cyclone Blast Hairdryer.

"But did you think of this?!" Alex shouted, fishing out a Sonic Disintegrator Boombox and activating it to blast both Lumiere and the Slasher Sentry backwards with its booming sound waves.

While this was happening, Bridget, still in Sonic Mode, began to run circles around the arena to build up more kinetic energy.

"Really, what good is running around going to do?" Lumiere cackled.

"Oh, you'll see," Bridget giggled. "Don't wanna ruin the suspense."

While the Slasher Sentry was stumbling, Bridget started running along the walls while May rushed in and attacked the Slasher Sentry with multiple anchor swings before eventually performing an uppercut swing to send the robot flying into the air.

While it was airborne, Bridget jumped off of the nearby wall and planted her Metal Masher Boxing Glove into the Slasher Sentry's chest. The force of the punch, multiplied by Bridget's momentum and the kinetic energy she'd gathered, dealt the finishing blow to the Slasher Sentry and sent it careening back into the ground, whereupon it was destroyed in a cascade of robot parts.

While Lumiere was staring in shock at the defeat of his trump card, Nick raised his hand to imprison Lumiere in a psychic bubble.

"So much for your new movie, buddy," Nick quipped. "Maybe, also, just maybe, think that not everyone is into horror or scary movies? Just a thought."

"Yeah, well, we'll see if he'll actually take that advice," Sam stated.

"Well, I'd consider that case closed," Nozomi responded. "Now can we please get out of here? This place is really giving me the creeps."

"Yeah, I'm all for that," Mat replied.

10:27 P.M. – W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters

Jerry's Office

"Wonderful job as always, everyone," Jerry proclaimed once the spies were all back in his office for the usual post-mission briefing. "Truly a performance worthy of an actual movie."

"I think Lumiere heard that," Alex laughed when she noticed Lumiere, in his containment cell, looking quite perturbed.

"Good, and we'll say it again, you suck at making movies!" Nozomi shouted.

"Okay, I think he's been humiliated enough for one day," RiCO chuckled. "I'll send you guys back to Mali-U so you don't have to worry about that."

RiCO waved to the spies as she sent them on their way.

11:08 A.M. – Malibu University

The Spies' Penthouse

After a night's sleep and a good breakfast, the spies were ready to detox from that mission. Mat was already preparing for the 12th round of the 2009 Supercross season: St. Louis. On top of that, 2-time 125cc winner and 2001 125cc East Supercross champ Travis Pastrana was making a guest appearance on a Suzuki 450cc; he was also the guest track designer, too.

"Finally, some 'less scary' circumstances," Nick chuckled as he decided to watch the race with Mat.

No doubt Sam was watching with Mat as that "good fiancé" should. She wore her red and white tie-on bikini, fully intending to swim with Mat after this.

"Either way, I'm never putting scary movies on my list of things to watch," Sam quipped.

Currently, the Supercross class broadcast was going on; the Lites main event went to GEICO Powersports Honda rookie Blake Wharton #61, who led all 15 laps en route to his first career win.

"Hopefully Chad Reed takes advantage of this second gift he's been given," Mat replied.

"Totally," Sam added. "I'd hate to see you under those circumstances again."

Heat #1 of the Supercross class went to Suzuki's Chad Reed easily; heat #2 had just got started with Yamaha's James Stewart getting the holeshot, only to crash after the completion of the first lap, much to Mat's delight; Mat even gave a fist pump at Stewart's crash.

"What do you say, Nick, was that an oof?" Sam asked.

"That was a big oof," Nick quipped.

Some more of the spies came in to watch with Mat after hearing his cheer.

"What just happened?" May wondered.

"Stewart crashed," Mat simply answered. "But it's only the heat race."

"Hope that's a sign of things to come," Haruka chuckled.

With only 3 laps to go, the #7 Yamaha crashed for a second time after working up to 3rd, much to Mat's delight.

"This just isn't Stewart's day, is it?" May chuckled.

"Definitely not," Nozomi laughed.

At the end of the 8-lap heat race, James Stewart managed to barely qualify for the main event finishing in the 9th and final transfer spot, even after TWO CRASHES! GEICO Honda's Kevin Windham #14 would win the heat race; as for Travis Pastrana, he crashed out of the heat race and into the Last Chance Qualifier.

"Travis Pastrana?" Alex wondered.

"Oh, you remember when I said 'THAT JERK!' after he backflipped the FINISH line jump at Daytona 2006?" Mat told Alex. "That's him."

"Why do you call him a jerk?" Melissa wondered.

"Well, there's no doubt he was a great addition, but the fact that he couldn't let Freestyle Motocross go is a big black mark in my book against him as a racer," Mat answered.

"Okay, why say that's a black mark?" Clover wondered.

"Well, in my view, Travis kind of made himself a bit of a hypocrite when he said, 'Racing has been my dream since I was 4 years old,' and he pretty much went back on it," Mat replied.

The LCQ highlights showed Pastrana did not qualify for the main after all due to two collisions with Honda privateer Jacob Marsack and Pastrana's radiator being destroyed. Mat, however, was grinning at that.

"What's with the cheeky grin, bro?" Nick wondered.

"Honestly, Travis is one guy I totally lost respect for as a racer," Mat answered. "To be frank, the only thing that guy gave was a personality you just can't beat."

"Some sports stars are like that, really," Nick quipped.

"Oh, the stories I could tell you about some idiots who used to be on my track team," Bridget laughed.

The main saw two Yamahas up front – Jason Lawrence #338 and Josh Grant #33 – immediately. Reed and Stewart got mediocre starts, but Reed put himself up to 3rd by the end of the first lap while Stewart was near the end of the top 10.

"What do the points look like, Mat?" Bridget wondered.

"Chad Reed's up by 8 with 6 rounds remaining," Mat answered.

On lap 3, Reed made the move on Grant for the lead, but Stewart got around Grant as well for 2nd place shortly thereafter.

"Okay, come on, Reedy..." Mat stated.

Unfortunately, on the very next lap, Stewart muscled his way by Reed for the lead, much to Mat's dismay.

"Ooh, boy," Haruka stated.

"It's not over yet," Nick responded.

Mat sighed in frustration, but it was only lap 5 of 20. Fortunately, Reed did not let Stewart get away.

"Side bet," May giggled. "I say Reed will get him back."

"I hope so," Mat replied.

"I'm with my Mat-honey," Sam added.

"Same here," Bridget quipped.

"Reed's got this, for sure," Dawn stated.

"Personally, Mat," Melissa replied. "I sure hope Reed repeats as champ at the end."

"Absolutely," Britney added. "As Bridget said, we believe in Chad Reed as much as you do."

"Still think Reed will win the title?" Sam wondered.

"Well, he's got to win two races to almost guarantee it, assuming he hits the podium in 2nd place from this point on," Mat deduced.

Nothing changed until lap 14 when Stewart had crashed for the third time that night (first in the main event). To say that Mat was overjoyed was an understatement.

A replay showed Stewart had gone over the handlebars and had even gotten clipped by a lapper – Team Yamaha's Josh Hill #75 – as Chad Reed just snuck by him.

"OMG!" Mat exclaimed, completely overjoyed.

"Holy crapbaskets!" May proclaimed. "I might win this side bet this time!"

"Man, Stewart's luck just tanked today, didn't it?" Bridget laughed.

"Much to Mat's delight, I'm sure," Britney teased.

As it turned out, Chad Reed went unchallenged for those last few laps and ultimately won his 3rd race of the 2009 Supercross season; simultaneously, Reed's mechanic Mike Gosselaar gave him a pit sign that said "Thanks." In the series, Reed extended his points lead back to 11 points – 271-260. Rounding out the podium was Josh Grant – his first podium since round 2 in Phoenix in January.

Stewart said in his 2nd place interview that his Yamaha had gone into neutral and he did not know it.

"Oh, yes!" Mat sighed in relief.

"I'm happy for ya, Mat," Sam giggled.

"Ditto," Britney quipped. "I hope that's the start of Reed icing the title again..."

"Same," Blaine replied.

Before long, Sam managed to get Mat to follow her outside so they could swim, even after Mat changed to his swim shorts on the way.

"Wow, I actually won a side-bet for once," May quipped. "That rarely happens around here."

"Your luck was bound to pick up eventually," Nick chuckled. "I used to be pretty bad at those kinda things myself..."

"Oh, I could tell you stories of Yuki's bad luck with making bets in all of our Smash tournaments," May giggled.

"So... is there anything you wanted for winning that bet, May?" Nick wondered.

"Hmmmm..." May hummed before grinning at Nick. "How good are you at water polo?"

Normally, Nick would have politely declined, knowing that he would most likely get stomped due to May's experience. But, in this case...

"I say 'challenge accepted', then," Nick responded. "Did you want to gather a team, or..."

"Nah, I wanna go one-on-one," May proclaimed as she took Nick's hand and led him towards the pool.

In his mind, Nick couldn't help but chuckle. This was going to be good.

Final Note from Mat49324: Well, that's all she wrote for And Then There Were Some. Now, some of you are wondering why I decided on something like this... well, I felt this would make for a good project even though we are over a month past Halloween. I may avoid scary movies like the Plague, but this was too good to pass up. Personally, I found Jurassic Park to be scary, along with Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, and Jaws. After seeing Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, I completely shut out all scary movies because they're just too graphic for me. I guess this is also why I have only seen a handful of movies in 34 years. FTR, the last movie I watched was Bennett's War (2019) on Netflix in 2020; before that was Over the Hedge in 2006, and Supercross: The Movie in 2005. Anyway, for now, we'll be moving on to our next project, which will not have any scary movies included, and will be on The Blue Time Ranger's page. It's titled Rave Reviews – co-op project #99... and you know what that means. For now, here's The Blue Time Ranger for his final thoughts.

Final Note from The Blue Time Ranger: And that's a wrap for this one! Something you may not know about me: I'm not into scary movies myself, either. Granted, a lot of the ones from the 80s and 90s are really more hokey than anything compared to today's offerings (I wasn't kidding when I said that the Chucky franchise was all over the place with its tone), but given the right tone and content, that crap gives nightmares out like it's discount Halloween candy. And no, I don't consider slashers as true horror, as those are usually more about the blood and gore than anything else. I know what I said.

With that, let's graduate from scary things and talk about what's happening next time on Totally Spies: The New Adventures! The show's very first villains (the show's, not the spies') are reuniting for another scheme, and you'll probably be surprised what inspired this one. But you'll see that next time on Rave Reviews, which will be posted by me. So, until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, enjoy this preview of Rave Reviews, and we'll see you next mission!

Mallory opened her eyes slowly but surely when she heard an odd noise from somewhere nearby.

She'd learned pretty quickly that late-night noises weren't anything new in this place. But this one sounded strange.

Almost as if... as if someone was trying (key word being trying) to be stealthy about it.

Granted, it seemed like no one else in this block had woken up either. Then again, she was a pretty light sleeper, no doubt due to having run herself ragged for so long finding a way to seek justice for Maria.

Mallory scooted as close as she could to her cell door to try and see what exactly was happening.

Then, she heard beeping.

Coming from the outside control panel of her cell.

Mallory quickly backed up when she saw the cell door slide open...

...only to see nobody there.

So why was she still hearing footsteps?

"Ah, if it isn't the metalhead," a voice proclaimed.

"Whoever's there, you can stop with the 'metalhead' shtick," Mallory retorted. "I left that behind after I was taken in."

"Well, be that as it may, you may be useful to my plans," the voice answered. "So you're coming with me... whether you want to or not."

To be continued in Totally Spies: Rave Reviews...
