This is a tag of sorts to the TV show Winx: Fate S02E04 "An hour before the devil returned".
My (let's admit it, kinda twisted, take) on how Saul should have reacted to this outing and how he'd handle it and especially Sky. It doesn't deal with what actually takes place plot-wise in that episode. More or less teen trouble, angst, father-son dynamic and a well-earned spanking to a rebellious teen Sky. 3 Chapters

Chapter 1
Or what?

Sky was pacing on the pub's small garden, vacant of customers this time of the year, phone glued on his ear, but gaze distant. Bloom, seated at one of the tables out there, watched him thoughtfully. Saul Silva's berated words could be heard loud and clear despite not being on speaker.

Any idea how dangerous it is out there?

Sky's eyes rolled impressively as he snarked, "Oh yeah, it's... it's terrifying. All the dancing and drinking and laughter…"

"Drinking?"

The man's tone, a tone that hadn't been used with Sky in quite a while, made his stomach clench with familiar discomfort. When Saul spoke again his voice was hard and ominous

"I don't know what's come over you, but I want you to use whatever little brain has remained inside your head toTHINK! This is not the time to let your guard down, Sky! We have a mole inside the school, blood witches wanting our heads and you and your friends decide that's good timing for goddamn partying? I want you to gather everyone and get your asses back here this instant!"

"Or what?" Sky couldn't believe he actually phrased that question. In that tone. To Saul Silva. To his mentor. To his guardian. To his commander. To the closest thing he ever had to a father. To the man that had taken him in hand more times than he cared to admit throughout his young life.

"Excuse me?"

Sky, against his better judgment, paused his pacing as he replied, "Just Trying to figure out the consequences, here. What will it be? A Silva-style lecture? A Rosalind-style torture? It's hard to nail down your moral compass lately."

"I don't think it's been that long for you to not remember what the consequences for risking your safety, sneaking out of school, drinking, and directly disobeying an order are, Sky."

Saul's tone made Sky visibly gulp and Bloom fidget with her hands.

No, it hadn't been that long, Sky thought. Even though it felt like it, after the whole truth about Andreas came out and his feelings towards Saul drastically changed from deep respect and love to hot, raw, anger.

At his lack of response, Saul continued, "Sky, whatever your feelings are towards me, put them aside. You're speaking to your commanding officer. And you have a very clear order. Gather your friends and get your asses back to school right now."

After a brief pause, Sky simply replied, " I'll be back at a reasonable hour," before ending the call.

"That was a bit harsh," Bloom commented from her chair, sympathetic eyes tracking her boyfriend as he slowly walked to her.

Sky slowly lowered to the vacant chair next to Bloom's.

"Yeah, I know. I know. But… After he left… I finally feel like my own person, you know? I'm not living under his shadow anymore, desperate for his approval. I was free for just a little while. And now he's back."

"Don't you think he's just looking out for you?" Bloom wondered. It was clear as the day to her. And it pained her that Sky let his anger cloud his understanding. She knew both Sky and Saul regarded each other as son and father. And no matter what their past held, it couldn't change this.

Sky remained silent for a few seconds. Standing up he cleared his throat, before speaking, trying his hardest to sound carefree.

"You know what? It doesn't matter. We're here to escape for just a few hours, right? I'm not letting Silva ruin this for us." Extending a hand to her he motioned with his head towards the door leading to the inside of the pub. "You coming or what?"

A smile splitting her face in two, Bloom practically jumped to her feet, linked hands with him, and followed him inside.
