Chapter 3 is also written, but I'm gonna give it a couple of days to see if any feedback comes in. I'd love a review or two before uploading the final chapter. Please share your thoughts with a review.
Chapter 2
What will it be?
The sudden silence and darkness that engulfed the pub made everyone gasp. Stella immediately used her power to lighten up the space, while Bloom shouted, "What's going on?"
Sky's loud "Shit!" was the only answer she got before Saul Silva with ten of his soldiers strode right in.
"Party's over folks. You either walk to the van that's waiting outside and get back to school willingly, or we help you do it. You're coming back to Alfea. The only choice you get to make is how you'll go there."
The group of teens exchanged uncomfortable looks, before Stella and Bloom, took the first steps toward the exit.
"Wise choice," Saul commented drily. He watched his students walk past him and out of the pub one by one. As Sky passed him Saul was pleased to notice the worried glance the teen shot him. At least the boy hadn't lost all of his common sense.
Throwing one last glance around to make sure the teen scene had cleared, Saul followed them to the van.
The ride to Alfea had been silent and heavy with awkwardness. Saul's gaze focused on the road ahead as he tried to figure out how he'd approach this.
He had to discipline Sky multiple times while the boy was growing up. But in all those cases the was no pent up anger and suppressed emotions between them.
Sky had been a ticking time bomb for weeks now. Ever since the truth came out. And Saul had given him space and time. He had apologized he had done everything he could to make amends. And Sky kept pushing him away. But this time he couldn't turn a blind eye. He couldn't let this slide. Sky had taken it to a whole other level and risked his life. No. Saul would be damned before he allowed his kid to keep treading the self-destruction path. Knowing what awaited he braced himself. He'd do right by Sky, no matter what.
"Irresponsible and thoughtless!" Saul's voice boomed, as he paced in front of the small group of teens, most of which had the decency to look contrite.
"After everything you've faced inside and out of this school, after knowing there are moles inside Alfea, knowing who we're up against and what they're after… I have no words. You're lucky Rosalind is not here right now, or not even I could save you from whatever sick consequences she'd decide to enforce."
The students visibly gulped at that, knowing full well just how far that woman could go. Riven felt his skin crawl, having experienced her wrath firsthand.
"You're all under complete confinement for the next two weeks. Meaning no exiting your suites for anything other than classes and meals."
His words were met with quiet disdain, and a couple of whispered curse words, probably from Riven.
"I also expect your group to meet me at 5 am every single morning for the duration of your restriction for intense physical training, starting Monday. It'll help your combat skills, not to mention teach you some much-needed discipline."
Riven turned incredulous eyes to Sky, but the blond kept his expression neutral and his gaze fixed on the ground. When, despite the groans and annoyance, no objections were raised, Saul decided it was time to bring things to an end before his second round with Sky started.
"Terra, Flora, and Sam your father expects you at his suite. You're to go straight there."
Knowing full well how similarly to him, Harvey dealt with discipline, Saul wasn't surprised at the flushing faces of the three teens and the "oh-shit" looks they exchanged.
"Sky, you're coming with me to my suite. The rest of you are dismissed."
Sky's eyes shot to meet Saul's for the first time after the pub. Saul knew he had a fight in his hands as soon as the teen's jaw clenched familiarly.
Despite the order, Sky turned his back and attempted to follow Riven, but before he made more than two steps, Saul's hand circled his arm in a vice grip, effectively halting him.
Sky spun around and shook his arm free angrily.
The two of them exchanged blazing glares before Saul spoke. His words came out quietly enough for nobody else besides Sky to hear and loudly enough to grab the boy's attention. His tone held the familiar determined ominous promise, that Sky knew not to ignore.
"I'd tread very carefully, if I were you, young man. You have enough to answer for as it is. Adding resistance to the list is not in your best interest. I will not hesitate to carry you like a toddler if I have to. You're coming to my suite and we'll have a lengthy discussion about tonight's escapades and another long-pending one about your behavior of late. The only choice you get to make is whether you'll walk there with me or if I'll have to carry you over my shoulder like a tantruming two-year-old."
At the lethal glare Sky shot at him, Saul remained impassive.
"You wanted to test me, Sky. I intend to pass with flying colors. You can be angry as hell with me, and you can hate me if it makes you feel any better, but every single time you needlessly risk your safety, you'll be answering to me. Now, what will it be?"
A furious Sky, knowing full well Saul always followed through with his promises, wisely opted to walk in the direction of the man's living space. The place he used to think of as home away from home. The place he used to hide at whenever he sought some privacy and quiet. The place he knew he was always welcome to, no questions asked. The place he always got his ass handed to him whenever he got into serious trouble.
