Chapter two: Wary Uchiha
There where several parts to the mission they were sent on. First off, they needed to gain information through seduction as well as keep the daughter out of the way, which was Saku's job. Second, they had to retrieve a person, which Neji would do. Last, they had to retrieve a scroll which all of the separate parts were linked to. Shisui and Itachi would handle the last because the scroll would be heavily guarded, and with their Sharingan, would be easier to gain.
Saku's mission was to gain information about the owner of the scroll, and the girl's father. Who was the current owner of the scroll. Saku's job was to find out when the scroll came here, why it came here, and what she knew of it's purpose. The man they were to apprehend would at least give them more information on what the scroll's purpose is. The girl's information would help in two ways. To know if the man they were snatching was telling the truth, and give them any more information that the man didn't know.
Saku and his team parted a little inside of Lightnings boarders so they wouldn't be spotted together. Saku knew from the mission details that the girl he was to seduce was around his age, and liked to flirt and drink at a local bar in the upper district of the village. She was a good herbalist, though civilian and high ranking, she did not have a job as a herbalist, just a side hobby he was told.
She also had started snatching men up and sleeping with them like Shisui would. One night stands, and she lured men to her, she never had to ask for men to come to her. They fell down at her feet. From the picture he had saw of her, she was fairly beautiful and could woo men with just that, add power and wealth and the local men would do anything for her favor.
Saku went to the bar she had been known to be in. He disliked seduction missions. He didn't like the lying of it all, more so when you had to lie to people who trust you well enough to be your lover, even for a night. The seduction missions take a lot more out of people then one would think. People tell lovers things they usually wouldn't tell anyone else. They tell them because to be someone's lover you must trust them with your life at the very least. It was what made Saku dislike the missions type at all. He hated lying to people, more so when he had to sleep with them.
He hated lying in general but somethings are better left unsaid and others shouldn't be said at all.
Saku entered the bar casually, looking around taking in the sights like all other newcomers would. He saw immediately his target. She literally had men at her feet like dogs. While other men cooed over her, and bought her drinks. Saku wondered if that was a lonely life. Knowing none of those men actually wanted her for love, but just because of her fathers power, her fathers wealth. Saku sighed and by passed to to take a seat at the bar.
He wasn't going to be one of those men. If she wanted seduced by him, she had to come to him. Someone like her wasn't going to pay any more attention to him then all the other men at her feet if he acted just like them. If he paid no attention it would catch more of her eye then being a dog would. He had been a dog all his life, he wasn't going to seduce someone as it. He rather forget his history and his life while on the missions, it allowed him to for once think he was free.
He was on his first drink, raising it to his lips when she made her move. Of course he'd been right about catching her eye this way. She apparently wasn't use to having to seduce anyone, or else she was unsure he wanted the company because though her action was bold, it felt nervous and a little hesitant to him.
She had her hands slide up his spine then around to his chest as she pressed her breast against his back. He'd taken off most of his gear to play the part of someone traveling through, not a Shinobi. He planned on just being a simple traveler passing by, but maybe being a medic would be easier, being a doctor could have her relax more, knowing she was a herbalist, at least on the side.
If he had to tell her anything at all that is, she could just want to sleep with him and be done with it. The way she was caressing his chest with her nails and the way her lips brushed his neck then ear as she tempted to start a softly spoken conversation.
" Are you new here hunny?" She asked. He rose his pink brow at her seductive tone. She had to have many men to have gotten the tone down, it sounded just like Shisui's. Which was a serious turn off for him. He turned his head just a little so he caught her bright blue eyes with his own. She was blond but with hair and eyes a little darker then Naruto or Ino's.
" You mean into the village? Or into the bar?" He asked about her question. He said it just as quietly as she had, but he wasn't flirting, and his tone wasn't romantic just slightly teasing. She shivered nonetheless.
" Either-or. Say... if your looking for some time to kill, I'm free for the night. How about we get better acquainted, maybe someplace with a little less light and a little more comfort?" She suggested her nails lightly scraping his abs, lowering to hit the tops of his pants. Her meaning couldn't have been mistaken for sure.
He stared into her blue eyes and slowly let his jade fill with dark light, and his lips tilt slowly into a smirk. A smirk he'd seen Shisui do once or twice. Wicked with something naughty to follow it. Her eyes widened, and her lips parted as her heart leapt. Apparently he was doing well enough. He hated seducing anyone, thought with Shisui and Ino to watch he knew how to do it fairly well.
" I'm not objective to getting to know you better, but I have to warn you..." he began and then lowered his voice, allowing something seductive and dark to enter his voice before he said the rest.
" I like the lights to be on." Her breath went out in a shaky rush. She flushed in surprise and then she nodded pulling back. He stood with her. No more talking. She was ready to go apparently because she took his arm in hers and said not another word as she lead him out of the bar.
The hotel she steered him in the direction of, and that they finally came into, was well know for it's discretion as well as luxury. She didn't check in because she obviously had a room she owned, or used enough that she always had it in case she needed it to take her men to.
Saku very much disliked women who slept around, men as well. He didn't differentiate between genders. He had to seduce his fair share of both in ANBU. A down side, or an upside. A downside if you minded, an upside if your open minded enough like him, that you really couldn't care. In Saku's opinion. A mission was a mission, the target was just a target you had to seduce nothing more or less, so why should the gender of the target matter?
The fact of him not liking women that slept around was why he and Shisui, one of the reasons anyway, never got together. There were more reasons for sure, but that was the main one. It's also why he and Ino fought like cats and dogs.
The hotel room was fairly nice and smelt clean. It didn't really matter though. He followed behind her to shut the door once he came into the room. She was eager because once he turned back around from shutting them in, her mouth and body was against his own and she was crawling up his body. She tasted sweet, almost like watermelon. He felt the gloss on her lips, it was sticky and made his mouth feel very strange.
Warning bells went off right after that, because by then he realized something was wrong. He pushed her away just as his vision blurred. He shook his head and rose a hand to wipe the gloss from his mouth. She had drugged him...how? The Sake? Or her lip gloss? He looked up at her clearly confused.
" You like it? I've used it so much I can wear it now, with out it even bothering me." He frowned at her.
" There wasn't need for this." He said softly, putting his back to the door because his legs felt a little like jelly. Her eyes narrowed at him, hardening from that of a woman, to that of a warrior. Someone who knew how to at least poison someone, someone who had been through much, and seen death even. More like Shisui now then ever.
" Do you think I'm a fool? Daddy yells at me for rebelling and a day later a sexy new guy shows up? I don't think so!" She scowled at Saku, but he only frowned in confusion.
" So how much are you getting paid? Daddy wants you to either make me learn my lesson by you betraying me, or by breaking my heart, which one huh? I'll double your pay!" She pulled money from her low cut neckline, and the bra underneath peaking out. He shook his head and regretted it as his head swam with ribbons and his stomach filled with nausea.
" I'm just passing through, your father didn't hire me." He'd been concerned she had discovered his real motives, but she only though him hired by her father, lucky and not so lucky at the same time.
" Then someone else?" She question her anger dimming into confusion. Which was slightly better then her anger. He was drugged, better not to out himself by using jutsu to heal himself then fend her off if she were to attack him.
He felt the drug fully enter his blood and had to close his eyes or risk falling down. Whatever it was he had never encountered it before. He hoped she had only drugged him to make him sleep, or whatnot, and not poisoned him to death. He couldn't cure himself if he didn't know what it was, of course most things he was immune to thanks to him and Hinata, who was Herb savvy as well, mixing known toxins up and him making antidotes for them. He knew those by heart, she had to have made this herself. But he wasn't surprised. Someone good with Herbs is bound to know how to make their own poison and drugs.
He cursed himself for not paying more attention. Getting himself drugged. Shisui would laugh at him for sure if he wasn't killed.
"..Y..You weren't hired by anyone?" She asked hesitantly looking concerned and hesitant at the same time. She dropped her crossed arms and the anger fell away. He smiled at her weakly.
" Honestly I'm not here because of anything bad. I just wanted to spend the night with a beautiful woman before I had to go back to my village." She flushed at his words, and her guilt as she came over to him and helped him to the bed so he could lay down. Knowing she wasn't going to attack him, he relaxed and allowed her to lead him to relax.
" I..I'm so sorry. Things...things have been difficult around here. I..I don't know who to trust anymore." She said as she got him in the bed. He chuckled and closed his eyes as his head hit the pillow. She removed the gloss from her own mouth as well as what he missed, but the damage was done now.
" It's not deadly honest, it'll dull after a few hours." She reassured him when he opened his eyes to look at her. Watch her.
" What is it supposed to do exactly?" Other then the general dizziness, nausea, hazy drunk feeling he felt. He hoped it didn't get worst then this. She flushed a little with shame at drugging him by mistake.
" It makes people easy to handle. Make them slower, sort of like they're drunk. Their reaction time is down and any hostile feelings sort of melt away. In case of assassins you know?" He turned his head to her bright sorry eyes.
" Is that a recurring problem of yours? Assassins?" He asked with a grimace as his stomach rolled. She nodded and rubbed his arm back and forth, back and forth, lulling him with the repetitive movement. Relaxing him further.
" Ever since my dad got that stupid scroll from Iwa, he's upped the guards and Assassins are even more of a problem. Trying to get me or daddy." She said with an angry frown as she clutched his arm to her busty chest. His fingers dangled close to the juncture of her thighs, he noticed hazily.
" Why doesn't he just get rid of it? Surely your more important then a stupid scroll." He said leaning his face toward her sweet scent. She smelt good, like watermelon on a hot day. Refreshing and oh so good. Perhaps that drug messed with him more then he realized. It actually was like he was drunk, just a little different, and probably a lot worst.
She was kindhearted, she had been through a lot he could tell. And that act with the men was just an act, to rebel against her father, to capture to be assassins with that drug so she could protect herself the only way she could. She was starting to remind him of Naruto more then Shisui now, which was bad. Saku loved Naruto, and sometimes when he was alone he wondered if things were different, and Hinata wasn't after her, if he himself could have had a future with her. Naruto and he had always had a close bond. He wasn't quite sure why.
She looked surprised at his words, and then she suddenly burst into tears. Her lip trembling and tears spilled down her cheeks. She threw herself at him and her face and hands buried in his chest as she cried herself out. He couldn't comfort her, his arms wouldn't work for the life of him. He has this boneless type feeling.
A while later, she peered up at him with swelled red eyes, tear stained cheeks, her makeup, what she wore, smeared down her face, and a party guilty, partly embarrass look on her face, from no doubt crying on him, or in front of him, he wasn't sure, maybe both.
" I..I'm sorry I don't usually...It's just since that scroll got here...my life has been so difficult. Daddy's always worried about it and not me. I just wish things could go back to normal." Saku wanted to make them go back to normal for her. Maybe he was spending to much time around Naruto, after all Naruto always wanted to help EVERYONE. Naruto and her sentimentality.
Thankfully their target wasn't her family, it was their mission o steal the scroll and she had told him all he needed. He didn't have much time left before he needed to meet up with the rest of his team.
" Don't worry I have two sisters back home who use me as shoulder, or chest, to cry on." He of course meant Naruto and Sasuke, though Sasuke rarely ever cried, but he had meant it to comfort her, but she looked a little disappointed to his confusion.
" Sister...I remind you of your sisters?" His lips tilted up into a sexy smirk at her as he understood what the disappointment was for.
" No." He pressed a soft kiss to her cheek, after forcing himself upright. It took all his will to get that far, but he could do it. He couldn't wait hours before this drug wore off, he needed it gone now.
" I'm sorry dear, but I have to be leaving." She looked surprised, maybe because he was going at all, because he was leaving before the drug wore off, or before they could get further sexually he wasn't sure.
" Do you have to go? The drug won't wear off for at least seven more hours, you'll be to relaxed to do anything but breathe." She pointed out with a deep frown. He smiled slightly.
" But my time is up here. I have companions who expect me shortly." He commented in return making to stand. She helped him up on principle alone, though she didn't want him to leave.
" I hope you get your wish." He finally stood fully after saying that, and then brushed her cheek with his fingers softly before stiffly moving to the door. It was as if his legs wanted to rest and his mind was driving them forward, he moved awkwardly to say the least, but if he knew anything about anything, he could at least use his Chakra once away from her, to see what he could do about either getting it out of his system or making it less effective somehow.
" Will you be alright?" She asked worried as he fell against the door. He pulled himself upright and nodded.
" I'll sleep it off in the wagon the way back, no problem." He was a little touched at her concern.
" Will...Will we meet again?" he smiled and glanced back at her meeting her blue eyes with his green.
" Maybe one day." She looked a little less upset by those words and nodded. He thought of something and gave her a curious smile.
" Speaking of which...I don't think I ever got your name. My names Saku." She laughed surprised and startled that they hadn't even introduced themselves before now. Or maybe surprised he didn't know her name with her family's power and wealth.
" Shiori." She said with a smile. He nodded and then he left. Once he was gone from her, he leaned heavily against a building in an ally not far from the Inn.
He brought a glowing hand to his chest and tried his best to examine himself and try to reverse, get rid of, or mute the effects for a few hours. If he could at the very least mute the effects they could get a good enough distance away from here, and then he could pass out or what not.
Just moving as much as he was made his vision dance in ribbons of color, and his mind start to black at the same time. He shook himself softly, as much as he could to shake the darkness before he passed out and tried to continue his search more quickly. Though his stomach rolled helplessly while he did such.

At the meeting place, Itachi and Shisui waited with Neji and their target and the stolen scroll for Saku to return. He was late, which wasn't unusual after the type of mission he had did, but he knew the importance of this and knew every second wasted was important time they could have used to escape. He was risking them all by taking his good old time.
" You think it took longer then he thought? Or that he's still shoving his Haruno pride into her?" Shisui asked crudely, a bit irritated. It wasn't fair that these random women got to have him, but he wouldn't even look her way unless forced. Besides she got the hard part of the mission and all he had to do was have sex, how easy was that?
" I'm sure he has a reason." Neji commented. Itachi remained silent. She was slightly curious as well. Was it like Shisui assumed? That he was running late because of the sex? Or was he injured unexpectedly?
Before she could open her mouth to tell them to move out, they couldn't wait any longer, Sakura came into he clearing looking less like he had just had sex, and more like he'd been on death bed a week. He looked rumpled, but not bloody so Itachi nodded to him. He nodded back and they set out. She didn't fail to notice his decrease in speed, but he wasn't slowing them down, just a little further behind then they were. However she did notice the draining of color in his face and lips as the time passed. She was looking for a decent place to stop, since they were at a well enough distance and they had back tracked several times to lay false trails and cover their own.
However before she could find a place, suddenly out of the corner of her eyes she saw him miss the tree branch. Usually someone would have caught themselves, but she realized too late that he fell unconscious and was heading to the ground below. She cursed and made a move to get to him, but Shisui was faster, being as how she was closer and caught him mid-fall.
" What the hell Sakura?" She asked quickly. Shisui wasn't called Shisui of the body flicker for how sexy she was, she was the fastest Uchiha Itachi had ever met.
" There is a cave not far from here we can conceal ourselves in." Neji commented with Byakugan activated. She had been the one to draw back and cover their tracks and Itachi herself had their target over her shoulder. Shisui had been of course the logical choice to catch him, so why hadn't Itachi just called out for her to do so? Why had she tried to catch him herself?
They made their way to the cave which was a short distance away. The cave was well hidden but they found it easily. Neji made sure they weren't followed while Itachi and Shisui went into the cave to scout and find out why Saku had fainted.
Itachi was laying their target on the ground, when Neji returned and gasped quickly. Itachi turned around and her eyes widened when she realized what Shisui had been doing in her distraction. Undressing the Haruno.
He lay naked now on the damp cave floor, bared for them all to see. Itachi noticed a lack of color first off, the way he looked as if he had fallen into a coma, or dead. His lips were blue even. She could see with her Sharingan that he was alive, but his heart was beating almost too slow, like it was too tried to do any more, or faster.
Shisui of course was looking for punctures, needle marks, thinking he'd been of course poisoned. Itachi came over to help. They searched his entire body and found no markings of any kind, not even the kind they would expect from a man who had just finished sex. Shisui mentioned that last part and Itachi had to agree. It was strange. They would have to find out what was wrong with him.
Itachi had a basic knowledge of medical jutsu, but not enough to help with poison, at least not a kind where he obviously ingested since there was no marks saying he'd been pierced or cut by it. If he didn't get better she wasn't sure what to do. They either had to risk going back to Konoha with him this way, or find a healer from a nearby village and bring them to him.
Of course if he woke they could understand what was wrong.
XxxXxxXxxXxxXxxX
It was hours later that Neji was about to go for the healer, and Itachi was out hunting down herbs she knew would help with poison, that Shisui was left alone with Saku.
Shisui was suddenly startled when she saw his eyes move from beneath his lids. He was rousing into consciousness. She leaned down over him and touched his cheek, he was cold to the touch still, but he was waking, which was good. He had been still as death for so long it was making her nervous.
However touching him could have been a bad choice to someone coming out of a mini-coma like he was, and so she shouldn't have been surprised when his hand shot out and grasped her forearm moving her hand away from his body. His eyes shot open and since she was inches away she was left staring into his eyes.
She gasped, not at the suddenness of it all, though that was there too, but because instead of jade green eyes that she expected, she was met with Sharingan scarlet eyes. She froze, but as soon as he realized who she was, the scarlet was gone, and his green eyes were back as if it had never been different. Shisui sat perfectly still.
" Shi..sui?" He asked with a rough voice, more in need of water, then sexy at this point.
" Y..eah." She said unsure. Had she just imagined what she saw? There was no possible way that Saku Haruno was an Uchiha, so he couldn't have the Sharingan...could he? Wouldn't someone have found that out had he all these years? Besides...he would have told them...right? That wasn't something you keep secret from your teammates, let alone friends after all, not when it concerned a family blood limit like that. Her and Itachi's blood limit.
" Where... are we?" He asked and closed his eyes tiredly. She was afraid he passed out again but he opened his jade eyes again after a very long blink.
" A cave fifty miles away from where we left from." He did another of those long blinks, as if struggling to remain awake, or maybe he was thinking.
" What happened? Were you poisoned? Tell us what to do to help you." She said quickly before he did pass out again. His pink brows furrowed as if he had trouble remembering what she was talking about.
" Not poison... sleep-" He said right before he was out again. Itachi walked in right after that and came to them quickly, just as Saku's arm fell back to his side boneless.
" What happened?" She asked with an armful of herbs and some water.
" He woke enough to ask where we were and tell me it wasn't poison whatever it is. He said..'Sleep' then was out. I assume maybe he meant that if he sleeps more, he'll be better." Shisui pointed out deciding to leave out where her mind went psycho and envisioned him with Sharingan eyes.
" Or whatever is wrong with him, is making him sleep. Maybe he was drugged with something to make him sleep, or this drugged like state he's in. After all his heartbeat is sluggish." Shisui nodded.
" He sounded sluggish as well." Itachi nodded, a little relieved it was a drug and not a poison. Which meant they could either wait for it to wear off, which could be days or hours, or they could carry him back to Konoha and hope he woke on his own, on the way.
" What happened?" Neji asked coming in.
" Saku woke enough to tell us he was drugged by some sort of sleeping drug, and needed to rest more and allow it to ware off." Shisui commented quickly.
" Dress him Shisui, Neji. We'll leave as soon as he's clothed. He'll wake on the way, or in Konoha, one way or the other we have to get back to Konoha, we wasted too much time on this." Itachi said with a frown.
XxxXxxXxxXxxXxxXxX
He woke with a pounding headache and hushed voices speaking heatedly around his bed. The sound of their arguing died when he twitched into motion opening his eyes and closing them against the light. That brief flash of sight had allowed him to see his teammates around him, and Tsunade. He was back in Konoha, and in the hospital. Didn't it just figure.
" Sakura?" Tsunade asked coming over to check his vitals. Saku sighed softly, but heavily. He parted his eyes and locked eyes with Tsunade as he check him.
" How did you end up like this?" He asked. Saku frowned.
" We found a unknown toxin in your body." He commented. Saku nodded slowly.
" Shiori, the one I was to seduce and gain information from, wore it on her lips. It entered my body that way. She was expecting assassins. It was only supposed to make you groggy enough to just be relaxed." He commented.
" So why the difference?" Tsunade asked with a unhappy look, he knew why.
" I tried to clear it out of my system so I wouldn't weigh the team down, but I ended up making it much worse then better." Saku said with a wince at Tsunade's glare and curse at him.
" Stupid ignorant fool. Did you learn nothing in all these years?!" Tsunade asked. Saku sighed and closed his eyes.
" I didn't want to pull my team down, I figured if I could at least mute the effects until we at least escaped it would be worth the side effects my messing with it caused."
" Instead you weighed your team down having to care for you. You should have at least reported this to your captain. They spent unneeded time and resources, risked their mission and lives, thinking you were poisoned." Saku flinched. Itachi moved forward.
" I agree that he should have told us, but he was right in his decision. He gave us enough time to escape to safety before he collapsed. If he wouldn't have done such we would have been in much more danger." Itachi commented. Saku turned his eyes to her. Shisui and Neji looked surprised. Tsunade scowled, but huffed. If Itachi was standing up for him, it meant that what he did, she saw as the lesser evil here. Which meant he would be punished, at least not by her, probably by Tsunade.
" The drug has exited your system now, don't strain yourself, and you should be able to go home." Tsunade said shaking his head and then leaving them, muttering about ignorant fools, and 'mighty Uchiha' on his way out.
Once gone, Itachi turned to him, turning those eyes onto his jade.
" You could have gone about it differently, but in the end I know you were thinking about the mission and our safety. It was indeed foolish, don't make a habit out of it." Itachi commented, something in her eyes let him see briefly that she had been concerned for him, but it slid away and she left him. Neji left as well, obviously having nothing else to say. Shisui remained behind, like he knew she would.
He remembered seeing her in a cave over him, trying to explain what happened, but he had blacked out again before he could tell her the whole story. He really did make it worst. He was an idiot for doing it, but at least they got a good enough distance away before he passed out. That was all that matters, well no...all that matters is he didn't get them killed in his stupidity.
She was uncharacteristically silent while he got out of the hospital bed unhooking himself from IV's and the such. When he was ready to leave he briefly turned to her. She was watching him as she usually did, but the unusual thing was she wasn't lecherously watching him, she was watching him suspiciously, as if she didn't know and or trust him.
" What's wrong Shisui?" He asked concerned. She blinked into his jade eyes then smiled a usual grin relieving him a little.
" Nothing, just thinking about how crappy it would be if you went and died with out me ever getting to take your sexy body as mine." Saku snorted and gave her a look. She grinned slyly in turn.
" Right. Well it'll never happen regardless so you have all the time in the world to get over it. You don't have to wait until I die." Shisui laughed.
Saku shook his head and left with Shisui at his back as he left the hospital but they parted ways mid-walk. Shisui heading to the bars like always, after a mission, and Saku home. Saku waved and walked off, he didn't once look back as usual, had he this time however he would have seen the wary glance Shisui shot him on her way back to the Uchiha district.
