Chapter 3
David's POV
A bright smile lit David's face, as he held up the bread knife and the loaf of bread that he carried in each hand.
"¡Hola! Dinner time!"
The newest addition to his kiddy collection, Layton Assbum, immediately stopped crying. And finally. The squealing and crying had been making him want to shove the knife in his ears already. And it had only taken him 20 seconds to walk down the stairs.
"Couldn't you have brought down something better?" Complained Marcus, one of the kids he had kidnapped. He knew he ought to have gagged him, too.
"No, I couldn't. So don't be so ungrateful. Or I'll call your mother!"
"Seriously? I'll call CPS."
"You- you wouldn't!" David shrieked, "I was kidding anyway! You seriously think that your mum would care that you've been kidnapped? No. Otherwise she would have found you already!"
Marcus laughed, before finding his mouth stuffed with bread, almost stopping his breath.
David's voice was suddenly deep and serious. "That'll teach you to shut up. And stop kicking the other kids. Layton's a crybaby already without you adding to it."
David cut and handed out two slices of bread to each kid, then moved far across the room to what seemed to be a sink. He poured multiple glasses of water, and took turns handing them out, and placing them on the floor.
The kids had become awfully quiet all of a sudden.
"Why are you all so quiet? Talk! I'll be uniting you all just so you can eat, but don't try any funny business."
He went around the basement and untied each kid, one by one, and he saw them pick up the bread from their laps and eat. They took the water from the floor and gulped it all down.
David stood watching, by the stairs, making sure none of them tried running away again. But none did. Thankfully.
David didn't make them live totally in the dark with nothing to do. There were mandatory Spanish lessons that he gave when he got home from work every day, when his wife was picking up the kids, and then there were Saturdays when his wife would go out with her friends, so he would watch a movie with the kids.
"Movie Night tomorrow kids!" David looked around the dimly lit room, noticing that nobody was smiling. As per usual. "Why are you all being so grumpy? Cheer up! Don't make me revoke dinner tomorrow!"
"Why did you have to go and kidnap Layton of all people? He's so annoying!"
David's tone was suddenly dark again. "I'll have to teach you to be more grateful for what you have, Charlotte Garbage! I give you a wonderful life here, one you can't find better anywhere!"
She scowled, a disgusting sight. But she didn't look much different from usual.
"You know what? You're getting gagged again, until tomorrow at breakfast. See how you like that!"
David turned and moved back over to the sink, and while he had his back turned, Brian and Daniel nodded at each other. Action time.
