Toronto, Ontario, Canada, 2010...
Loud cheering could be heard across a concert hall in Toronto, followed by the sound of electric guitars roaring through the concert speakers. A rock band was standing on the stage, and they were playing for their loyal fans. At the front of the stage stood three Caucasian individuals, each playing an electric guitar while standing behind a microphone. They were obviously the lead singers and lead guitarists of the band.
In the middle stood a middle aged Caucasian male who was easily the tallest of the three at 6'4. He had a muscular build, light green eyes and long brown hair that went to the middle of his back along with a medium length brown beard, and he had a tattoo in cursive that read "Wild and Free" on the back of his right hand. His outfit consisted of a black bandana with skulls and hatchets on his head, a black t-shirt that read "Nothing Else Matters" in white letters underneath a sleeveless black leather vest, stonewashed black jeans, fingerless black gloves and black motorcycle boots.
This was Robert O'Niall, and he was the most serious of the group, but despite his intimidating appearance, he was also very friendly. He used to be married to a woman named Maude Hopper and had five children with her; Victor, Gerald, Patrick, Lemmy and Gretchen. Robert and Maude divorced when most of their children were still at a young age. Patrick and Gretchen decided to live with their father while Victor, Gerald and Lemmy decided to live with their mother.
To Robert's right stood his son Patrick O'Niall, who was the second tallest of the three at 6'2. He also had a muscular build and light green eyes, and his brown hair was short and shaven, and like his father, he also had facial hair, although his was just a slight stubble, and he also had a tattoo of a skull with a dagger through its right eye socket on the left side of his neck. His outfit consisted of a stonewashed blue denim jacket over a white t-shirt along with torn stonewashed blue jeans, black fingerless gloves and black motorcycle boots.
Patrick was the most carefree of the group, and he regularly went out drinking with his mates Sheldon, Bertie, Nigel and Liam. Outside of the world of rock music, he could also regularly be found in the boxing ring, fighting in the heavyweight class and having won several boxing trophies as a result of this.
To Robert's left stood his daughter Gretchen O'Niall. She was the shortest of the three, yet still rather tall at 5'11. Unlike her father and brother, she had black hair which she tied together in a ponytail. Her green eyes were also paler than those of her father and brother, but she did have a muscular build and also had a tattoo of a dragon and a Judas Priest on her left arm. Her outfit consisted of a dark gray t-shirt with the logo of her father's band, The Irish Mob on it underneath an unzipped black leather jacket along with torn stonewashed blue jeans and black motorcycle boots.
Gretchen was the most normal of the group, being a tomboyish rock chick and a big sister figure who would have your back no matter what. She was also lesbian and showed romantic attraction towards girls, but her family didn't care, being happy if Gretchen was happy with whatever girl she chose to be her partner.
As The Irish Mob finished playing their last song, the crowd cheered loudly as Robert, Patrick and Gretchen grinned and raised their arms in the air. "Thank you, Toronto! Ye were an amazin' audience!" Robert shouted in a heavy Irish accent.
"Aye, thanks fer comin', ev'ryone! We're glad ye enjoyed the show!" Patrick shouted in an equally heavy Irish accent.
"We hope ta rock up a storm here in Toronto again real soon!" Gretchen chimed in yet another equally heavy Irish accent. The crowd cheered loudly once again as the band proceeded to leave the stage and head backstage. As Robert, Patrick and Gretchen were headed towards their dressing rooms, they were suddenly held up by a middle aged Caucasian male with gray hair styled in a pompadour and pale blue eyes dressed in a black three-piece suit with a white dress shirt and a red tie along with black dress shoes.
"Ah, Mr. Robert O'Niall, Mr. Patrick O'Niall and Mrs. Gretchen O'Niall! I'm glad I was able to get a hold of you! My name is Kevin Harewood, and I'm here on behalf of Toronto Interactive Media, one of the biggest television distributors in Canada! I'm here to make a business proposal to the three of you!" The gray haired male explained to the Irish musicians with a kind smile.
Robert, Patrick and Gretchen looked at each other before looking back at Kevin. "A business proposal, ye say? Well, let's head on over to our dressin' rooms, then we can discuss this in private." Robert suggested as the four of them went to the dressing rooms so they could discuss things in peace.
Before long, the four had made it to the dressing rooms and were sitting in chairs. "So, what's this business proposal ye had in mind, ol' one?" Patrick asked Kevin with a curious raised eyebrow.
"Glad you asked, my boy! I'm sure the three of you are familiar with the reality TV show Total Drama, correct?" Kevin asked the Irish musicians.
"Aye, I know that show! It involves a group o' teenagers bein' split into two or more teams, an' then they have ta compete in challenges fer either a reward or immunity, an' the team that loses a challenge has ta attend an elimination ceremony where the goal is ta vote off one o' their own team members, and halfway through the competition, the teams are merged, an' the contestants then compete individually durin' the challenges, where only one contestant can be immune to elimination at the elimination ceremonies, an' this continues 'till there's only two contestants remainin', an' those two contestants have ta fight it out in one final challenge, an' whoever wins that final challenge will win $1,000,000!" Gretchen spoke with excitement.
"Ah, glad to see we have someone familiar with the show! Well, here's the deal...The fourth season of Total Drama, Revenge of the Island has recently wrapped up, and the show's host, Chris McLean has been arrested due to a long list of felonies committed during Total Drama's runtime, including child endangerment, terrorism, property damage, crimes against nature and so on. But the public is demanding more seasons of Total Drama, so we were hoping that you three would be willing to take over the hosting position from Mr. McLean." Kevin began to explain to the three rockers in front of him.
Robert and his kids looked at each other and then at Kevin. "Well, we're honored ta have been considered fer hostin' a new season o' Total Drama, but before we take the job, we'd kinda like ta know what kinda season we'll be hostin'." Robert spoke, being the most mature when it came to conducting business.
"Right, here's the deal...You will be inviting 24 new contestants to a manor in rural Ireland, and you'll be splitting them into three teams of 8. Each episode, you'll have them compete in a challenge, and only the first two teams to finish the challenge can be safe from elimination, which means the team that finishes in last place each episode will have to join you at the elimination ceremony in the backyard of the manor, where every safe contestant will be given a basket of breadsticks. The eliminated contestants will be driven away from the manor in the Saracen of Shame towards the Aftermath studio, but you don't have to worry about driving the Saracen of Shame or hosting the Aftermath. We've already hired someone to drive the Saracen of Shame and we've assigned Irish TV personality Simon Hunt to host the Aftermath alongside two co-hosts which we have yet to hire. So, what do you say? Are you three willing to take the job?" Kevin asked Robert, Patrick and Gretchen.
Robert, Patrick and Gretchen had listened thoughtfully to what Kevin told them, and they then huddled up with each other and whispered to each other about what to do. They nodded at each other and turned back to Kevin.
"Sir, we've talked it o'er, an' we're proud ta announce we'll gladly take the job! Ye got yerselves three new hosts fer Total Drama!" Patrick happily told Kevin with a grin.
Kevin smiled at that. "Oh, that is most wonderful news! Glad to have the three of you aboard! We will be starting the filming of the new Total Drama season in about a month, and we will be e-mailing you the information and audition tapes for the contestants soon, because we would like the three of you to decide on who the contestants for this new season will be!" He beamed.
Robert, Patrick and Gretchen smiled and nodded. "Alright, sir! We'll be lookin' forward ta it!" Gretchen replied to Kevin as she, her father and brother shook Kevin's hand and Kevin proceeded to leave the room. Looks like Total Drama was back in action.
Hello, everyone! Alexneushoorn here, coming at you with a brand new SYOC fic! I know that I haven't finished work on Total Drama Island: The First Showdown yet, and that I said that I would be taking a hiatus from writing full stories like this for a while, but after thinking about it and discussing it with other people in the community, I decided to start gathering the cast for this story relatively early for planning purposes, so don't expect this story to fully start for a good while!
As you could read in this prologue, this story takes place in an alternate universe that I will be calling the Irishverse, which takes place after Revenge of the Island! Chris is in prison, but the public wants more Total Drama, so the producers have hired Irish rock musician Robert O'Niall and his children Patrick and Gretchen to become the new hosts of Total Drama! Robert, Patrick and Gretchen will be inviting 24 new contestants, submitted by you guys to a manor in rural Ireland to fight it out for the million dollar prize!
I'm looking for about 24 contestants, at least 6 interns (Including a chef and a medic) and two Aftermath hosts for this story! The application forms for the contestants, interns and Aftermath hosts can be found on my profile, along with the submission rules! There's currently no deadline for submissions, so take your time with submitting characters!
That's about all I have to say for now, guys, so see you next time! :D – Alexneushoorn
